“I stumbled upon Piccolo Trattoria while searching OpenTable. This was a birthday dinner for my wife, who is Italian, so if we were going to an Italian restaurant, I wanted to be certain it was authentic. Indeed it was. The atmosphere was lively-many diners enjoying their meal, and many in groups of 4, 6 or more. The food was amazing. My wife and I shared a dish in which slices of cheese were cooked and bathed in rich "red gravy." My wife then had a seafood mixture with spaghetti and I had veal parmigiana with angel hair pasta. Piccolo offers a lengthy list of pastas to choose from. Both my wife and I were delighted with dinner. The sauce or red gravy was rich and tasty, and her seafood and my veal were just what we wanted. The food has to be better than home to be satisfying, and this dinner was. The waitstaff provided great service, even though they were busy and seemed to never stop working. Everything came out on time, and any request from a little extra cheese to a large spoon for twirling the pasta was met cheerfully and quickly. Piccolo Trattoria is tucked away in a shopping center in Newtown. I am delighted to be able to give this restaurant one of the best recommendations I have ever written, and I urge you to visit. My wife and I will definitely return. Oh, not to forget, this is BYOB so bring a fine bottle of wine without having to pay double the retail price or more.“
“Francesco's is the finest pizzeria restaurant in Newtown, PA. We had pizza and chicken tenders and a cannoli. Everything was delicious. I had the privilege of meeting the Manager of this small business. And it was a great conversation. The server was fantastic. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable. Even the bathroom was clean. What else can I say, when a restaurant is this good. I have to give it 5 stars.I highly recommend Francesco's Pizzeria.Vegetarian options: Salads are available.Parking: Plenty of parking spots available even during lunch hour.Kid-friendliness: This is a family and friends kind of place, of course kids are welcome.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is ground level. “I was visiting Newtown for a vacation and found this place recommended to me by the host in the house I rented out.It was an interesting grocery place to be in. It was like a regular market you can buy Italian products like dried pasta, sauces, snacks, etc. But there was a deli section in the market with pre-made Italian food sitting on hot plates.I bought a few to try and they were delicious! Coconut shrimps, Eggplant stuffed with ricotta and prosciutto, and mushroom stuffed meatballs.I also bought layered cookies (or cakes?), macaroons, and tiramisu. They all turned out to be delectable! I was satisfied with the haul, but when all the combined items turned out to be about $50, I was a little shocked. It's fine though, I expect to be paying a lot when I go on vacations!The only downside was the service. One of them was very nice, but the others were very indifferent. It's excusable since I worked in the food service industry for a while. I just hope they're being treated well.“
