“A Pittsburgh institution! I've been to the original Oakmont Bakery a few times before, yet this was my first visit to the newer, larger place. It was very impressive, not small and cozy like some of the little family owned bakeries or local chains, but absolutely worth checking out. While I wouldn't normally visit on a busy weekend day, I was in the area and had to stop. And they absolutely have a system down to handle any size crowd! Simply grab a number and they have a number of employees lined up to help you with any size order.I wanted a drink and a few small bakery items, so after scoping out the offerings I headed to the cafe area to order a drink. The self serve computers made it easy to order any of the wide variety of drinks, I chose a s'mores latte. While waiting for it to be made I headed back up to the counters, grabbed a ticket, and eyed an eclair and small chocolate cream pie. Yes, this is a great place for us chocoholics! After no more than a few moments it was already my turn, and I was able to pick my items up.The exterior and interior are very nice and modern, and the bakery is easily accessible in the middle of Oakmont and near the bridge. Parking is limited in front of the building, but plenty more is available behind it across from the park. The large variety of cakes, bagels, cookies, donuts, and seasonal items ensure there is something for everyone. And the large number of workers up front and in the back ensure they don't run out and you can be served quickly. Thanks!“
“My fiancé and I just left here and we are in a food coma! All around such a great experience! The staff was super friendly and the cook was super awesome and loaded up our plates. This is one of the only sit down restaurants that I know of that are open until midnight on a Saturday night. Very impressed!“
“Bought our first Cake yesterday from Casey Renee for my Mom’s wedding and now I’ll never buy another cake from anyone else. Casey is the sweetest and she is so talented. Everyone was asking where the cake was from, as it was beautiful and delicious! Thank you Casey Renee!! We’ll be repeat customers for sure!“
“Our first time here, in from out of town. The menu is fantastic, and everything we tried was great. Amanda was very helpful in explaining everything, letting us know what to expect from certain smoothies or juices, how long to expect things to last after taking it home, etc. In addition, she made some great recommendations. Everyone working was in a great mood, and it was a good environment overall. Can’t wait to come back on our next trip to the area!“
“As someone who works in Regent Square, it's so valuable to be able to quickly hop over to Live Fresh and get a smoothie! I go almost everyday to get one of their healthy smoothies. Everyone who works there is so kind and helpful. The place is a breath of fresh air! I recommend trying the Popeye's with added cinnamon! Delicious and I feel GREAT afterwards.“
“This was the first time I’ve been to Noodlehead and will definitely be going back soon, whether it’s to eat in or just order takeout. The Pad Thai was soo amazing and definitely the best I’ve had, and it’s a great price. I can’t wait to get it again and try other noodles also. Love that it’s BYOB as well!“
“I’ve been here several times and have never been disappointed! The food is some of the best Italian in Pittsburgh! We always order the gnocchi with blush sauce and always appreciate how perfectly done the gnocchi is (never mushy or overdone) as well as the T-bone steak which is always made PERFECTLY! We also appreciate how many sides you get with each meal as well as FRESH BREAD! You won’t be let down and will definitely have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.“
“Christmas at Johnny's...Very Festive and Comforting. I had the Chicken Romano...OUTSTANDING!!!! The Chicken was SO TENDER that I was Eating it with a SPOON!!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Also had Meatballs...DELICIOUS!!! A MUST VISIT To EVERYONE Who want REAL HOMEMADE ITALIAN QUESINE!!!@“
“Pastoli's is our go-to for delivery pizza and wings, we order from them regularly. We appreciate the variety of pizzas and the wings usually come hot and well sauced. The zucchini planks are also a hit in our house. I would recommend Pastoli's to anyone looking for good pizza. Also, we've gotten their gluten free crust a few times and it's nearly indistinguishable.“
“Road trip from Toronto to Pittsburgh. Stayed here for 4 days.My family members were all craving for Pho. Googled the best pho and Pho Van was top of the list.Quiet Easter Sunday in Strip District but not Pho Van.There was lineup outside of the restaurant. In my mind, it’s gotta be good.I went in the restaurant and checked myself in. There were few people waiting before me. Waited almost 25 mins. It’s weird that they didn’t sit us in when there was a table for 4 people.I asked the staff and they said there was one person in front of me.So, it doesn’t make sense to me if you want to sit 1 person at a 4 people table.anyway, that person got another table and I sit at the table which was ready 10 mins ago.————-Pho:It’s very pricy comparing to Toronto (i know I can’t compare but still…). A bowl of Pho cost me $18 USD (~$25 CAD) and it’s only one size.Soup base was nice. No heavy MSG. I ordered eye round pho. Portion was ok (Large size in Toronto), meat portion was just ok. I expected more for this price. The noodle was thinner than Toronto. It was nice.Spring rollIt was delicious. Freshly made. Not those frozen one we have in Toronto. Well done here.————-Overall, it was a nice Pho place to stop bu. It was expensive for Pho. $120 US with tips for 4 bowls of Pho.“
“I have some tea hipster friends and we all agree that they have the best tea. They have 80 pages of tea and they're all good. They also have great friendly employees and an amazing environment. Only problem is it gets too crowded on Thursday and Friday night but that's expected for an amazing place.Dietary restrictions: Accomodates every dietary restriction, but they're not known for the food but really for the tea.Parking: Free street parking in the neighborhoods and 5-10 minute walk. Tons of paid street parking. Some paid parking garages are also around a 5 minute walk.“
“Such a wonderful little piece or France tucked into Pittsburgh! I went in to order macarons and ended up walking out with the delightful little desserts, as well as several warm, freshly baked baguettes. The environment was welcoming and cozy and the girl who helped me couldn't have been sweeter! If you've got a taste for authentic French baked goods, I can't recommend this place highly enough!“
“Started my Pittsburgh foodie adventures in this adorable little sit-down pizza restaurant in Shadyside! We tried the Pizza Del Re (white pizza) and Pizza Della Casa (red pizza), and both lived up to the hype! Pizza Del Re: - White pizza with mozzarella, truffle spread, & prosciutto (it comes with mushrooms too, but we got it without because my boyfriend doesn't like mushrooms) - A super rich truffle taste that was so yummy - Loved the thin crust, but there were parts that tasted a little too burnt Pizza Della Casa: - Red tomato sauce pizza with mozzarella, grape tomatoes, arugula, prosciutto, & parmigiano - I love the combination of prosciutto & arugula and it was a plus that the arugula tasted so fresh & wasn't bitter - I personally prefer red sauce over white sauce, so I liked this pizza a little bit more To top off your meal here, make sure to get their gelato for dessert! I got a small size with 2 flavors -- tiramisu and hazelnut. Both flavors were super rich and yummy and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.“
“I come with my husband for lunch. We always get the lunch special and he LOVES the soup that comes with it. I adore the Tum Yum veggie soup. The summer roll is so fresh and the crab app is crispy and always hot. It’s a family owned business so that just makes it even better. You can’t go wrong with anything you get. Try the Musaman curry with beef. The owner is so sweet and that’s what keeps my husband and I coming back for more.“
“The cupcakes, snickerdoodles and chocolate chip cookies were good. The icing was more whipped than I'd like. It's a quaint shop; stocked well with so many choices; including gluten free items. Parking can be a little tricky, if an event is going on next door.“
“Great food, everything is always very fresh. My favorite is the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo .... they serve fresh baked bread and an awesome garden salad. The staff and owners are very friendly and always very attentive to our dining needs and the atmosphere is a family restaurant home feeling....always welcoming!“
“We had a very enjoyable evening at Tambellini's. We love the cozy ambience of the dining room and the gracious service. Our server Charlotte did a great job of pacing our meal service. We both had the special entree of Veal Lucca with veal medallions in marsala sauce topped with crispy proscuitto. Delicious! We enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar with Mike to finish a relaxing evening.“
“Came from out of town to tailgate at the Pitt/Louisville game. Called Chef Nick and his team at Saisalido and ordered the Pittsburgh Tailgate option. The food was absolutely delicious. We had very little left overs and there was enough food to feed more than we ordered for. Chef Nick and his team were so helpful, polite and friendly. We ordered only a few days in advance and they were able to accommodate and exceed expectations! Thanks Chef Nick!Ps. I would add pictures but the food went way too fast!“
“Fantastic for pick up and delivery. No dining room. Super friendly, fast and affordable. Generous toppings on pizza’s. Also love their hoagies.Dietary restrictions: They have good gluten-free pizza, when we are feeding a gluten-free guest“
“I’ve ordered two birthday cakes and a custom two-tier cake for our son’s baptism from Bella Christie’s Sweet boutique. All were incredibly delicious and beautifully decorated. This is my top choice bakery for special occasions. I live in the South hills but come here for cakes.“
“The sweet scents immediately hit you upon entry. The lemon cello cookies are to die for! I am so glad that I ordered a dozen of them. Even though they are known for their biscotti's I did not order any this time. But I certainly will on my next visit there.“
“Fantastic little coffee/tea shop tucked away in the Pittsburgh suburbs. Baristas are friendly & helpful. The hot coffee I had was fantastic. The cold drinks I saw that others purchased looked like they would be tasty. Cannot wait to go back and try something else.“
“I've never been a guest. I've been in this place a few times picking up delivery orders. Most of the time, my order is packed up and ready in 5 minutes. That's five minutes I get to watch a pool game, think about coming back, maybe, to play a game. Once, someone called off so they were short staffed and I got to listen to the music and just relax for, like, 20 min. I didn't make budget on that trip, but I usually do, so it all levels out. This is a really friendly, hospitable place. The food must be good, too, cause people order it even if they haven't got time to go.“
“Amazing collection of loose leaf teas with the best prices around. And always wonderful customer service every time I visited. I've since moved out of the area but still place orders online monthly and they always arrive promptly and well packaged.“
“We loved everything we got here! My husband, who doesn’t like macarons, really enjoyed the macarons. We also got the raspberry tart and Paris-Pittsburgh and thoroughly enjoyed both. The Paris-Pittsburgh just melts in your mouth. Both have a delightful flavor :) we will definitely be bringing our friends and family here when they come to visit!“
“Really nice place. Very cosy with a nice atmosphere and good service. Menu options were good and reasonably priced with generous portions. I have had duck at other asian restaurants and it sometimes comes out rather tough and chewy. But I had the duck birds nest here and it was alot more smooth and tender. I would highly recommend comming here.“
“Been frequenting this wonderful restaurant for years.Never disappoints...the atmosphere is that of ?? Italy. It's a lit'l escape from the daily grind.Do yourself a favor and experience the greatness of this quaint Italian restaurant. Menu isn't extensive...but who cares when everything offered is delightful.Parking: After 6pm on streets parking is free and there are plenty of low priced parking close to the Girasole's“
“A Sweet Morsel is my go to bakery. I recommend it to anyone in the North Hills area. I’ve worked with them for custom cupcakes for an event we hosted and most recently for a baby shower cake. Everyone always raves about how delicious desserts are. They’re extremely responsive and easy to work with.On the weekends I try to stop by to pick up their thumbprints, cookie sandwiches, or the peanut butter skillet bars (which do not last long in our house as they’re so good!!).“
“Stopped in for an early dinner. Ordered the fresh rolls, garlic pepper chicken and green curry tofu. All were excellent. Great service. Calm atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Nice selection of vegan options. Plan to go again!! Worth the trip.“
“My friend and I traveled to Silk Elephant from Bethel Park. Three Reasons:: We love the Chicken Pad Thai.: We love the Thai Crab Bisque and Salmon Rolls: We love the Mango JuiceThe prices are so reasonable especially compared to how other restaurants have really spiked their prices. Service is always good. Hooray for them. Love giving them my business.“
“Never had Ramen from here and figured I'd try it. All my friends raved about it and they were right. Delicious. Service was excellent and the price was right. Will definitely be back!!!Update: another delicious bowl of Ramen, but I sure wish they would sell their T-shirts!!!“
“I had a delightful and delicious brunch here. The service is exceptionally fast, the food arrived within minutes of my order, and my order was taken almost immediately upon sitting down. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, filled with off the wall and on the wall art, the staff is delightful, and because this is kind of a neighborhood restaurant, you'll meet all sorts of interesting people. It's possible to eat quietly but it is also possible to talk to the people sitting next to you.And of course, the food was delicious!“
“Amazing food - my favorite place for a good burger and the caramel pretzel milkshake is divine! Chef’s Kiss mwah! 1000% would recommend.Parking: Handicap spaces are usually available but other spaces you may have to hunt for a bit. Located in a busy shopping plaza. Also need to pay attention to the direction signs AND cars, have nearly clipped a few confused drivers coming in the wrong direction.“
“We had reserved a table for my brother's wedding just the other day and they put us in a small area near everyone but also kinda secluded it was amazing Ryan our service took extra great care of us always checking if we needed anything and bringing out or food super quick and everything was so tasty deffinately a place to go for parties events or just a night out on the town“
“Good service just didn't pay attention to refill for drinks otherwise everything was perfect. Food was delicious and servers where so sweet and funny great atmosphere and upbeat loved the artwork inside and the music.Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome they have a kid menu and booster seats.“
“Wife, son, and I were all pleased with our meals. This was our second time there, and we will return. However, it is a fairly small place, and a regular menu... no buffet. Place was open on Christmas day.Vegetarian options: My son, a vegetarian, wanted to return.“
“Every time I visit family in Oakmont, we make several trips to Brr-Kee's. There are many reasons to love this place. The ice cream flavors are plentiful to choose from and excellent regarding temperature and taste. The sundaes and cones are always very good for the folks liking the normal portion sizes. For the professional ice cream connoisseur, you really should try the large banana split. You can have them swap the usual vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry flavors for any flavor of the day listed. Check out the picture of this bad boy. Takes me back to the tasty freezes of a bye gone era. Also, the fact that they are open year round is a huge bonus as many of us enjoy ice cream in the colder months.“
