“We randomly found this place while visiting Philly and it was SO good! I got guacamole (it was GOOD and FRESH and NOT brown) I also got a steak tostada and a steak taco - the salsas are sooooo good the red one is spicy but me likely spicy so thumbs up. My friend got a veggie burrito and it was so good for her she threw it down in pure excitement! Also super support their lack of coke products <3.“

“Amazing restaurant! The birria tacos were incredibly flavorful and perfectly seasoned, and the salsa they bring to the table is outstanding, easily the best birria tacos I’ve ever had.

The service was wonderful and very attentive, and the atmosphere is nice and chic without being loud, so you can actually enjoy conversation with your guest. Seating can be a bit tight in some areas, but it’s ideal for parties of 2–4, or you can sit at the long bar for more space.

Also, it’s BYOB, so if you want a great drink with your meal, be sure to bring it with you.“

drinks: 4.5/5— they whisk their matcha, very rich and green and well mixed!! not grainy at all

working space: 2/5 since its also a restaurant, I saw one person sitting at a table with a laptop and if it werent busy, I’d probably post up all day. but since it was a busy sunday afternoon, I’d feel pressure to give my spot to someone else.

food: 4/5 pretty good by philly standards but my boyfriend and I were spoiled living on the west coast and the side-of-the-road tacos which nothing here compares to

atmosphere: 4/5 good spacing between tables, we walked in when there was a good amount of seats at 11am on a sunday and at 12, the lunch RUSH came in and it was BUSY!“

“I stopped into this spot after Joel, the owner, had posted it out on another platform. The street tacos were deliciously messy. There was such a great portion of meat on each taco I was only able to eat 3 of 4. The ability to customize my taco was wonderful! Ask for extra napkins + limes. I will be returning often here for sure. Plus, they cater! And there are even delivery options. Great local, neighborhood spot! 5 out of 5!“

The Carne Asada torta was a portion enough for two, with the most tender, juicy steak, fresh and aromatic toppings sandwiched between toasted telera. The Jamaica fresca had vibrant flavors me and my partner loved. The El Pastor Burrito was full of aromatic spices, incredibly flavorful all at a great portion. Can't recommend this gem enough.“

“Pistola’s Del Sur might officially be one of my favorite spots in Passyunk. Easily one of the best happy hours around, and honestly just a great place overall.
I tried all five tacos: tuna, carne asada, roasted chicken, cheesesteak, and buffalo cauliflower, and every single one was amazing.
Still can’t decide which one was my favorite. The chips and salsa were super fresh, with chips so crispy they tasted homemade.
The staff was incredibly friendly, service was quick, and food came out fast. The vibe inside is chill and relaxing, with a couple TVs, plenty of seating, and a great setup whether you’re there to hang out or just grab a bite. They also have an outdoor area, which I’m definitely coming back for once the weather warms up.
Now let’s talk drinks…if you like margaritas, you have to get the Diablo marg pitcher. During happy hour it’s $28, perfectly priced, strong, and great to share.
Overall, I’ll 100% be back multiple times. Highly recommend, not just for happy hour, but for the food, service, and atmosphere too. 🌮🍹🔥“
