“Tonight we ate at the Urban Tap. Our server Jenna was not only delightful. She was on top of every order both drinks and food. Clearing the table quickly. Filling drinks. And very personable to speak with. I would not only recommend this place to anyone. I would recommend her specifically as your server if possible.“

“What a delight this place is and a boon for the neighborhood! Weather at stand-up comedy or musical acts from around the world, it is a Timeless warm and welcoming neighborhood gathering place. And right next to the police station makes it feel a little safer even though every time I go I find myself walking through a mysterious cloud of weed on the street 😆“

“My husband and my mom threw me a 40th birthday party at The Monkey Bar. We had the huge porch to ourselves, wonderful wait staff, and the management was great to work with! Highly recommend looking into this place for events - truly perfect evening!!“

“They had a really tasty chicken and jalapeno dumpling soup as a special. I think its nice when places do weekly specials and mix it up especially when they turn out as well as this one had.
Nice place, can get a little cooped up when its crowded and busy, but I think they have an upstairs for reservations or parties, maybe.“

“We won a gift certificate from my favorite non-profit, Hilltop Horizons.org I didn't know I liked Cider until we stopped at the Brewery at Soergels in Wexford. We tasted several samples before we ordered a growler that was perfect for 2 of us. We sat inside as it was a bit windy that day. There is great outside seating as well. There were board games available to play and great views of the farm. We tried the sorbet on the way out. It was delicious!! We also picked up a 6 pack to enjoy later. This would be a great place for family fun or just for 2. I love to find local small businesses that support each other and the community! We will definitely be back.“

THESE WINGS ARE NOT SPICY, MORESO MILD, BUT SOOOOOOO DAG ON GOOD!!!! YOU WANT MORE AND MORE OF HIS SIGNATURE BUFFALO SAUCE ON THEM!!!! ITS A BUTTERY BUFFALO SAUCE THAT CANNOT BE DUPLICATED!!! “We had a rental place down on Sycamore and we stopped here for a evening of libations and pool table fun 🤩 the bartender was great and the drinks and service were excellent. Don’t hesitate to stop here a great Pittsburgh Bar. We stopped here several more times during our stay. Also good bar food. A cash only establishment“

“Garvey's is a fantastic place nestled in Southside slopes.We stumbled upon when we were walking from the slopes to the flats. Bartender James was a lot of fun. They don't serve food but you can order in. I showed up with my whole football crew and we brought snacks and sandwiches. Felt just like tailgate! They have a fun bowling game in the back room. We also bought Garvey's Tshirts and hoodies. What a blast“

“Picture if you can going back in time to an era when there was major industry in the valley. Elrama Generating Station was running full bore as well as West Penn Power and the mines were open supplying coal to these giant power houses Well that era is gone!!! But not the people, they still come get drunk and swing down memory lane. A patron played a song on the juke box " Country Road" by John Denver. Everyone in the place sang along and smiled a simple song for simple people Beware of the bartender though she skims 5/30/2018 The sign is back on!!!! Come on in, enjoy a cold beer on a hot day“

You've found it...at the R BAR... 5 mins. from downtown(avoid rush hour) The owner is a semi-retired musician..and his wife besides being a "Hottie" LOL..Is the salt of the earth...If you make it there on Sundays..You'll find one of the best"Bloody Mary's" around...and a 6 piece band called "The Midnight Horns" who all lead their own bands doing the week,but come together at the R BAR to roar..(Jazz,R@B,Blues)..I must also mention 2 of the best bartenders around..Toni and Billy.will treat you like family...So why not give the R BAR 5 stars? Only because of it's size,and no food..however a Pizza parlor opened next door with a wide variety of treats...good enough to feed those Boilermakers..from the R BAR...“

A back room to host parties that you would never know is there to go with the pool table new the restrooms.Staff was friendly and the drinks were nice! “The pizza is so good. Our group got a few different ones to try, and honestly, they were all good. I’m convinced it doesn’t matter which pizza you choose, you will most likely enjoy it. The beers were good. What more can you want pizza and beer?“
