“A very good local bar with an excellent beer selection with many local brews along with the staples. My favorite to eat is the grilled chicken wrap or the chili. They’ve got several large televisions that always have the local sports games on.“

And very personable to speak with. I would not only recommend this place to anyone. I would recommend her specifically as your server if possible.“

I appreciate he then explained each drink's ingredients to us. The food menu is limited, but includes some great basic bar snacks like labneh and olives. “This is a nice venue with top quality music acts, very friendly employee's and very clean. There is a small parking lot and street parking. Very minimal noise level. They don't serve food but everyone goes to a place two doors down and brings it back. I highly recommend Moondogs!“

“If you like hood bars this is the place to go. They have pool tables and food but I never ate there but I heard the food is BOMB! You also have to try those jello shots that Auntie makes which are very strong. My only GRIPE is that they use the state regulated pours so the bartenders really can't show you little love but at least they don't charge you an arm and a leg“

I went recently to see Sacred Monsters who were in town from Philly. It was the lead singer, KP’s birthday and we wanted to do something special for her. Long story short, Toy is amazing. Not only did she help with the surprise but she… on her own… ordered cupcakes for KP since I couldn’t find a cake that met her dietary restrictions. She was so helpful and enthusiastic about helping. I can’t wait to go back.“

“Attended a funeral at RJ Slaters funeral home, 12 of us went there between viewing times and had great service and the food order was done quickly. Everyone enjoyed their food and the people from Virginia never even seen a whole chicken wing. It was a great weather day and a few of us even walked the block to get there..“

One of the best parts was the drinks. They were very affordable 🍹 and the pours were definitely generous, which is always a nice surprise. The cocktails were made well and tasted great, so they definitely did not disappoint.

I also heard from a few people that their chicken is really good, so that’s something I’m planning to try the next time I visit 🍗. If it’s as good as the drinks, I’m sure it’ll be worth it!

“My friend Larry, who is a bartender at a Shadyside bar, took me here once when we were in Oakland. LOVED IT! Great atmosphere, great drinks and Gene is wonderful. Interesting mix of Pitt upperclassmen and regular people from the area. Every time I happen to be in Oakland now, I make a point of dropping in for a drink (or five). “My most American trait is that I eat more burgers than any other food. That said, the bacon cheeseburger here is simply the best I have ever had in my life. It's definitely my favorite burger in Pittsburgh. It is a 9.5/10 or better nearly every time. The grainy mustard and mayo is genius. The fries are also great. Service is typically solid even when they're busy.“
