“Best salmon in the county period!“

“It was an unforgettable dinner. The moment I stepped inside, I felt as if I had been invited to a close friend’s or family member’s home for a warm, intimate meal. The space is small, cozy, and wonderfully personal. The two chefs prepared and served each course with perfect timing, offering fresh, beautifully crafted dishes one after another without a single moment of dullness.

It was a joy not only to taste the food but also to watch the careful, thoughtful preparation behind every plate. The flavors were excellent, the progression of courses felt seamless, and I left with that perfect feeling of satisfied fullness.

There is no doubt that this restaurant fully deserves its Michelin one-star rating. A truly memorable dining experience.

The only thing I found disappointing was that, although I mentioned it was our wedding anniversary when making the reservation, nothing was acknowledged at all. The staff’s prepared guests’ birthday cakes, special party hats, cards and even a moment where the lights were turned off so everyone in the room could celebrate together. In contrast, our table didn’t receive even a simple mention of our anniversary.“

“The Love. was simply incredible! We came here with our 6 year old son. Our waiter was fabulous and very accommodating to our 6 year old which you don’t always find in Rittenhouse. The atmosphere was light and airy and the food was great! Make sure to try their Dubai Chocolate Sundae and if you’re going with children they do have special kids cups and will accommodate the menu for them.“

“Each dish, from first course through dessert, was almost indescribably delicious. That had my family sharing our plates all evening. The servers, especially Jonah, were friendly, very attentive, and helpful. A wonderful dining experience.“

“This place is awesome. The food, the staff, the service were all top notch. It doesn’t feel like a stuffy 5 star restaurant but your food tastes every bit like it would at a 5 star. It’s BYOB and one of the wine bottle we brought had a cork that disintegrated and they kindly filtered it all out and put it in a decanter for us. Every single course was delicious!! We each got a different appetizer, two different entrées, and two different desserts. Every one of the appetizers was amazing, but I thought the wax beans by far were the best. The carrots were also delicious and everyone really loved the rice noodles too. Each dish was unique and super flavorful!! The steak appetizer was excellent. My scallops were good but not my favorite mix. The desserts were very good and we had to get them to go so I’m sure they would have been even better fresh. I will 1000% be back. Bravo Helm, you know what you’re doing!!!“

“Absolutely love love love Kiddo - the menu changes based on what's in season, and the chef's thoughtfulness and attention to detail are unsurpassed. Many dishes are veggie-forward, creative and sensational, but my (fussy) husband swears the pork is the best he's ever had. Drinks are perfect, fresh bread heavenly. Can't recommend highly enough!“

“Been here for an event and dinner and now we tried eating brunch. We were here when it opened early morning. Staff was amazing. The place is cozy and you can see an old interior design which is nice. We ordered the Eggs Benedict and Braised Brisket Burrito. I liked the eggs benedict but not impressed with their hollandaise sauce. For me it tastes like mustard probably because it's Vegan. Husband said the burrito was delicious. Will definitely be back.“

“We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here, with all dishes carefully and well prepared. The scallop ceviche was excellent, and we loved the pasta with ox tail (nicely done al dente) and the fried stuffed quail. A good dessert was the pear Tarte Tatin. From the small list of available wines, we chose a Joel Gott Cabernet Sauvignon, way overpriced (as wines generally are in PA restaurants). The reception was a bit frosty (we came way too early and even though the tables in the dining room remained empty, we were ordered to wait a half hour). A very good eating experience inside one of the great museums of the world.“

We went with the tasting menu instead of a la carte and found the dishes good, but not anything particularly special. They were very accommodating with an allergy which was very nice. I'd like to try the bar menu but probably don't need another dining room experience.“

“I came a couple weeks ago and the food was amazing I got the Burger I don’t know what it was called exactly but it was amazing and perfectly cooked, also the Caesar salad was amazing too it had crisped parmesan chips in it and made it a lot better. The service was good too and very friendly.“

“I recently celebrated a milestone birthday with a dinner at Elwood with family and friends. Chef Adam and Jenny were wonderful to work with and the meal was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved the venison scrapple amuse bouche. We shared several orders of perogies and cheese platters to kick off the meal, followed by a couple of orders of the tri- tip beef, the sea bass, and the rabbit, which are served family style with a whole host of accompaniments, including exceptional mashed potato that got rave reviews and deserves it's own mention. Several of the diners had never had rabbit, but they all tried it and it was a hit! I already have plans to come with some friends for an afternoon tea, and my husband and I will definitely be back for dinner and/or one of the dining events that Chef Adam hosts. “Bad Brother is one of the best neighborhood bars and restaurants in Philadelphia. I love to take friends and family there for not only their selection at the bar and a delicious and creative menu, but the service and atmosphere are just what you need to feel at home while also enjoying your time out. Get yourself some wings, a burger, and a sausage sandwich! Add a Caesar salad that you won’t regret, either.“

“Round 1 (read the second part)

They sat us next to the bathroom for starters and yes there were other seats available. The interior is very small. Now to the food, the wings had absolutely NO flavor to them. I ordered the lamb and that was undercooked and not so tasty. At this point, I was afraid to even touch the asparagus I ordered. My date had the meatballs and Mac and cheese. I suppose the only edible thing was the Mac and cheese. Plainly put I make the most outta bad situations but I couldn’t turn the corner in this place sorry… DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! P.S. I ended up having to order Chinese food later on that evening cause I couldn’t even finish the leftovers.

ROUND 2….. 11/22/2025

I went back! After the first go around. I was invited back by Michael, the GM of the restaurant. Good man btw. This time around The Butcher Bar definitely redeemed itself. Had the fried cauliflower with Brussels sprouts, amazing! For my entrée in went with the steak and the fries. My date had the burger. Definitely safer choices than my last meal and who knows over time I might work my way back up to lamb again. As it turns out the place is a lot bigger than I thought but they are busy so always set reservations… other than that I loved my experience and sure am glad I came back. Definitely a delicious redeemer here….“

“Cozy atmosphere reminiscent of a speak easy. Apps were delicious…broccoli and potatoes. Pizza was excellent….thin, crispy crust with great toppings. Definitely on our list of new spots to go.“

I went for restaurant week and ordered the shrimp creole. Omg I cleaned my plate and was still salivating over the idea of more when I got home. My partner ordered the crab soup and the salmon. Eyes rolled in the back of his head y’all. Everything was so well and for my first time they left a lasting impression. Would definitely dine here again. I’m just disappointed the shrimp creole isn’t on the regular menu.“

“This is my first visit and I have found myself never wanting to leave! The food is delicious and the staff is exceptional. The staff team work so well together and give off such phenomenal energy. I ate and smiled the entire visit. If I had more time to be in the company of the phenomenal staff, Chef Asia (AJ), Chef Asha, Chef Carl, Chef Janelle and Chef Tweet, I would have placed my credit card on the table and stayed for lunch, dinner and breakfast. Great eats and great greets at this establishment. That is a difficult find.“
