“We just came to sit and play and only got water. Ended up being $12 per person even for only 1 hour. Could have stayed a lot longer for the same price. Keep that in mind. Fantastic board game selection in good condition. Can buy games if you want, right from your table. Had a great old pub atmosphere. Staff is very attentive and makes sure you have what you need. I would highly recommend, and I would love to go again. Only real downside is no dedicated parking. It required a long time and a long walk to actually get to the location. Prepare for a long search and arrive well early if you have a date!“

“Cool cafe + bike store

We went at lunchtime on a Wednesday and it was not very busy. A couple of people came in for the cafe or with bikes for the bike part. Lots of space.

I got a breakfast sandwich (very good, much better than I expected) and a maple rosemary latte (I didn't taste the maple or rosemary and it was too coffee-y for my preference but my friend really liked it). The soup of the day was Moroccan soup and smelled really good.“

“Having just landed in Ottawa during lunch time, I was craving a bite. I came across this beautiful café in Downtown Ottawa - Jackson Café (10 Daly Ave, Ottawa, ON, KIN 6E2) after visiting the Art Gallery next door.
At the café, I had ordered a roasted beef sandwich and my all-time favourite drink which was an iced matcha latte. I was in awe with the beautiful, sophisticated decoration of this café. The place was quite cozy and it was clearly the perfect place for studying as I spotted a few students from the University of Ottawa sipping their beverages while staring at their laptop screens.
The roasted beef sandwich was excellent it has the perfect ratio of meat and arugula salad piled on fresh bread. The combination of flavors was out of this world, and the beef was well cooked and tender. Every bite was a savory delight.
Then, I received my iced matcha latte, and I was in love!
As a matcha lover, this drink struck the perfect balance of matcha and milk-not too strong, not too weak.
Perfection!
This was the perfect place for a little pick me up before heading out and exploring more the city. I definitely recommend checking out this café, it also has some delicious pasteries and healthy vegetarian options as well. Recommended!

“They are surprisingly well located in the industrial park for all the people working there as well as the customers waiting for services.
Little gem in the area.
All their food is fantastic. We will return to the furniture side, it is far from comfortable or modern.
I hope they will fix the problem with the toilet on the women's side, I showed them what the problem was I hope it will be fixed.

“My husband and I were out for a walk along the Rideau Canal and came across this bistro, so we decided to stop in for a coffee. The location is beautiful—right by the water with great views and lots of seating. Service was quick, and while we didn’t try the food, everything coming out of the kitchen looked really good.

We both got iced lattes, which were delicious! That said, the prices were a bit steep—$7 for a latte and $4 for a bottle of water. It’s a nice treat if you’re in the area, but probably not somewhere we’d go all the time because of the cost.“

“I’ve been going there for two years now, it’s a quiet, relaxing and welcoming place for students, adults and people in research of a good time.

I’ve seen reviews about young kids not being welcomed in the café, I don’t think that’s true. While the targeted audience is mostly adults, looking for an escape or a quiet time away from home, I’ve seen parents with their kids. And if the cafe doesn’t have all the equipments you may need (like most places btw) just have whatever you may need ready in your car ;)

“The quality of the sandwiches went down in the last year. It's like there's not enough seasoning and sauces. It's still good but not like before. Also service can be slow depending on when you go. Drinks are still great however!“

“Such soft, warm and perfectly textured pretzels, just um, um, ummmmmm. This was my first time trying pretzels, we took Nutella Pretzel and Vanilla pretzel, and they told us that they had a special offer running that day and we can order 1 more pretzel. So with all our sweet pretzels, we ordered a savory pretzel, a cheddar pretzel. And all the pretzels were so good, a bit messy to eat, so take a few extra napkins but absolutely worth the mess.“
