“Ever since the new guy is in the kitchen cooking the meat, portion size has decreased and this makes me so mad. I've been going there for years and many times per month, but since 2 years I went only 3 times, at best. I always take Yakisoba duo with chicken and beef with extra shrimp. For the longest time, my extra was ACTUALLY an extra, but now since the new guy is there, if I take an extra shrimp, he gives me a lot less chicken and beef... Like if I pay for an extra, it is to get a freaking extra, not to get less of other stuff!!! Damn it frustrate me. I went there religiously before because I love it so much.“

“Absolutely the best sushi in Ottawa. I'm sad it took us two years to find this place. They also have some delicious Korean dishes as well.

This is mostly a take-out/delivery restaurant but there are a couple of small tables to sit at and a counter at the window. We like to eat in most of the time because we like the tiny low key atmosphere.

Plus, the staff are so kind, polite and friendly!

Went there for lunch, had 2 different bowls of ramen, beef rib and Tan Tan, again delicious. Got to back and try the yakitori and the other dishes on the menu. Loved my first try here. “I guess it's really as good as it gets for an Izakaya in Ottawa.

The food can be good, but service is really hit or miss most of the time. I have visited 4 or 5 times and half of that time, they forget drinks and bill you for them.

The food is generally pretty tasty - notable the curry tonkatsudon. As for the small plates, they could generally be better but are okay - they're just expensive for what it is.

All in all, I do enjoy coming here - especially with friends as it makes for a great atmosphere.“

“I've dined at Japanese Village many times since 1991. I remember seeing the goofy television commercials in the 1980s and ate there when the waitresses still dressed in kimonos. It's always been Ottawa's original simultaneous dinner and a show with the chefs cooking your meal right in front of you.

I went there yesterday for the first time since May 28, 2019 and nothing has changed. The same formula has worked for them since 1973 and there's no need to change it. I had the New York Striploin and Yaki Shrimp and enjoyed my meal as always.

My only complaint is that they need to have a website. This place is very pricey. With tax and tip, my meal came to $75. People should be able to see the menu and the prices. Chez Lucien had this issue for years.

Parking: Never had issues finding parking here.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp, but can be a little difficult. The doors do not have accessible door openers. If you have someone to help you, you'll be ok. The inside is spacious and can accommodate a wheelchair and we've never used the washrooms, so cannot say. Accessible parking conveniently right near the ramp.“

“Walked into this restaurant Saturday evening with my family of 5 and we were quickly greeted and seated. We chose different items off of the menu so we did not do the all you can eat bbq. My 3 children are picky eaters but loved everything we ordered. We had the bibimbap, bulgogi, seafood platter, pork and potato stew, chicken fried rice and California rolls.
