Someone their options have weird toppings though. Like potato as topping which tastes a little different.

“I was excited to go to Joe Beef with my son, since we both had been hearing great things about the place for years. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted by several of the staff as we walked through the restaurant to our bar seat. I always try to sit at the bar since you can chat with the staff, as they cook or prepare drinks. The service was outgoing and helpful, and the atmosphere was charming and cozy. We started with the escargot, which were great, but the butternut squash soup was absolutely spectacular, and by far the best thing of the entire meal. After that, we had the duck, and the lobster pasta, which came highly recommended. The duck dish was succulent, apparently “free range” which gave it a bit of a gamey taste, and it came with a gorgeous savoury sauce which included delicious duck hearts. Unfortunately, the lobster claw, (still in its shell), that came with the pasta was a little off, not exactly fresh, but the other parts of the lobster were great. We finished off with the “Profiteroles Poire & Chocolat”, an ice cream, pear, cookie and chocolate dessert. As I understand it, the ice cream was homemade which helped make it a wonderful dessert. All in all, we had a great time, but I have to say that the food was good, but not the kind of “blow your mind amazing” that I hope for from a high-end restaurant.“

It is obvious that lot of thought was pit into the menu and a lot of training and expectation were placed on the shoulders of the cooks, managers and servers. “We had lunch at this # Brasseurs location on St-Paul E. in Old Montreal on Thursday May 2, 2024. We choose this because we had a very good time at the other on on Rue de St-Denis on Tue 4/30/24. We had just completed a 2-1/2 hr walking tour that ended near here. So exploring is thirsty work & it was lunch time. Big brewpub with 2 levels. The upper level was hosting about 100 high school students on a field trip. We sat at the bar and were immediately acknowledged by the busy bartender, Marina. She brought menus & waters and took our drink orders. I had a spicy Bloody Maria ($6.75) & my bride had a white wine ($10). I had a loaded, juicy burger w/ frites ($20) and she had the chicken Caesar salad ($16). Well prepared, burger hot & salad cold-perfect. Our second time at a 3 Brasseurs was a relaxing experience after exploring Vieux Montreal. Thank you & Merci to Marina and the staff. Nick & Liz, Albany, NY USA“

“La Mellisa offers a true taste of Brazil with flavorful dishes and amazing service. The picanha was perfectly cooked, and the feijoada was rich and authentic. The staff was friendly, and the lively atmosphere made the experience even better. Can’t wait to go back!

“I was surprised with some of the negative comments about this place, then looked at the dates, they were at least 4 years old :), The food here was extremely tasty, we had the roast beef and special pizza, so0 goOd. Reminded me of fast food in Iran. I'll definitely try it again. However I was not satisfied with the dining hall environment, they could really do better !! btw, the waiter was so friendly and would always welcome you with a big smile :) THANKS ;)“

“We ate here for the first time Thursday night. My husband and I shared a salad, our own small portions of pasta, and individual entrees. The ingredients and preparation of each course were excellent, and the service staff were skilled and kind. The wine our server recommended was a pleasure all on its own, pairing beautifully with our food and distinctive enough to warrant a google search for future purchasing. Meticulous but unpretentious, it was a meal to be savored.“

“Cute date spot. Highly recommend going with a reservation. The menu is supposed to constantly change. Classic French with a bit of a twist. “Been close to a decade since I first wrote a 5 star review on TripAdvisor upon our first visit and this time I wanted to share it on Google. We visit this place annually (other than lockdown year) from out of town. A proper gluten free restaurant. Over these years since being introduced to Areparas we've tried other places to compare, in different cities and countries. We also noticed over the years some menu changed here, I really miss the Crackling Arepera but the Pork Belly is my replacement and amazing. The point of this updated review a decade later is after over the years trying different Arepara places hands down this place is our benchmark! Each time we return and I take my first bite, I am instantly transported back to the wonderful memories and feelings upon tasting the food here like the first time. I am reminded why they are our benchmark for their ingredient quality, taste, prep, portion, their 2 sauces and why we must continue to return to enjoy such great food at reasonable prices by this Arepera owner and the team. I really want as many people to experience it too!“
