“Tried this vegan place with my family today - good ambiance and a lively, happening vibe. It was our first vegan‑only experience, and honestly, a refreshing change from the usual restaurants. A little expensive, but overall okay if you want something different.“

“This sushi place is like, the little bistro on the way home that you could expect some delightful comfort food. Over the years, there’s consistency in freshness of fish and quality of cut. It is not a fancy sushi place that makes “fusion” plates, more on the simple but having good standard in all little things side. There are hot dishes on the menu too (Udon, skewers). I’ve only ordered the sashimi or sushi box for take out.“
“Okay so you wouldn’t think it right ? Because it’s literally metro / subway station sushi . But DUDE … he’s slicing the salmon every morning he’s fermenting his soy sauce or adding love or something .but point it … do not pass this place without trying it. The Greek salad and the green salad were both excellent

The service is friendly. Lorenzo, our server, was knowledgeable and efficient
The main problem is that the Restaurant is a bring your own wine type

“Came here for lunch recently with a friend, we ordered at the counter based on advice from other Google reviews. Had the quiche and the croque monsieur, both were very good. Appreciated that the croque monsieur was not greasy, the bread was also very good. For dessert we had a brownie and date square, brownie was excellent but the date square a bit pasty (unusual texture but perhaps it was gluten free?). Coffees were also good. Service was quite slow even though we ordered at the counter right of way. Terrace is very nice and in good condition for Montreal sidewalk terrace standards.“

“Fantastic place to eat. DJ was our server and we absolutely adored every minute being there. DJ gave us some recommendations, my brother liked it so much he ordered take out for tomorrow since we are headed home. 10/10, DJ was absolutely wonderful.“

“This was, without a doubt, our favorite restaurant in Montreal. From the moment we arrived, we loved the atmosphere—warm, welcoming, and with a cozy, family-like feel that immediately made us feel at home.
The service was exceptional. Everyone on the staff was attentive and friendly throughout the entire experience, but we would especially like to thank Morgan, who took incredible care of us. We decided to try something different and asked her to choose everything for us, from the appetizer all the way to dessert, without telling us what dishes would be coming to the table. It made the experience even more special and exciting.
Every dish that arrived was a surprise. Not only was the presentation impeccable, but the flavors were outstanding. Honestly, it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a very long time.
A huge thank you to Morgan and the entire team for making our evening so memorable. We will definitely be back whenever we return to Montreal.“

We had dinner at Joe Beef on July 3, and it absolutely lived up to its legendary reputation. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed into an atmosphere that was warm, eclectic, lively, and full of personality. The restaurant has a charm that’s impossible to fake—it’s energetic without feeling rushed and makes you feel like you’re part of something special.
A huge thank you to Simon, our server, who made the evening exceptional. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and fun, making us feel genuinely welcome while expertly guiding us through the menu. His wine recommendations paired beautifully with our meal, and his enthusiasm for the food and the restaurant was remarkable.
Every dish was outstanding, but the escargot was absolutely phenomenal—rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The tomato salad was surprisingly one of the highlights of the evening, showcasing incredibly fresh ingredients with simple, flawless execution.
Simon also steered us toward fantastic wine selections that complemented every course, and he saved room for dessert with recommendations that were the perfect ending to an already incredible meal. Every bite was memorable.
Joe Beef isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Outstanding food, incredible hospitality, a unique atmosphere, and service that goes above and beyond. Simon helped make our visit one we’ll be talking about for a long time.“

Dès l’entrée, les effluves envoûtants de la cuisine m’ont séduite. Service impeccable, rapidité et fraîcheur irréprochable. 🌊 En entrée, des huîtres sur glace d’une fraîcheur exquise, relevées d’une mignonnette au vinaigre vieilli : un pur délice marin. 🍲 En plat principal, la bouillabaisse aux poissons et fruits de mer — généreuse, riche en saveurs, et tout simplement succulente. J’ai savouré chaque bouchée avec gratitude. 🍮 Et pour clore cette expérience : le pastel de nata maison accompagné de glace… une douceur portugaise qui a parfaitement scellé cette soirée magique. Une expérience culinaire raffinée, où chaque détail était pensé pour sublimer le moment. 🌹“

“I had really high expectations for Restaurant Monarque and was hoping it would completely blow me away. While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn’t quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it’s possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher’s cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.“

The fresh fruit plate was beautifully presented and perfectly ripe, and the pastry board was the highlight — a flawless pain au chocolat, a rich almond croissant, and a classic butter croissant, all clearly made in-house. The bread basket arrived warm with several varieties and good butter. The charcuterie platter was solid but not the standout — decent quality, though a step below the rest of the spread. Service was a real strength: polished, attentive, and friendly throughout. Sitting outside in the garden setting was a real treat — calm, green, and relaxing. It’s a rich, calorie-heavy brunch — come hungry and pace yourself — but a very satisfying one.“

“I love to go to this place for the all you can eat sushi and other Asian dishes! It's a pretty big place with long tables, so it's a good spot for group outings. The crispy sesame seitan beef and sushi pizza are some of my faves! Service is pretty fast except when it comes to drinks, I highly recommend ordering drinks as soon as possible because they can take quite a while to arrive.“
