“From the moment I walked through the door, I understood why Joe Beef is considered one of Montreal's culinary icons. The ambiance is warm, quaint, charming, and intimate, the kind of place that immediately makes you feel as though you're about to experience something truly special.
The service was exceptional. Every member of the team was attentive, genuinely enthusiastic, and incredibly knowledgeable. As each dish arrived, every ingredient, preparation, and flavour combination was thoughtfully explained, adding another layer to the experience.
I shared with my server that I had come on the recommendation of a CWC, French-trained chef, who insisted that if I was visiting Montreal, Joe Beef was an absolute must. I told him I wasn't simply looking for dinner, I was there for a culinary experience. When he offered to curate my meal, I happily placed myself in his hands. It was, without question, one of the greatest dining experiences of my life.
Every course was extraordinary. The oysters were impeccably fresh. The foie gras was luxurious and unforgettable. The sweetbreads were nothing short of divine. Every bite showcased remarkable creativity, flawless execution, and bold yet beautifully balanced flavours. This wasn't just a meal, it was a celebration of exceptional ingredients and culinary craftsmanship.
As someone who actively seeks out memorable food experiences, Joe Beef has earned a permanent place at the very top of my list. It exceeded every expectation I had imagined and then some.

“Our experience was absolutely wonderful. The food was excellent, and the wine selection was just as impressive. What I would especially like to highlight, though, is the incredible friendliness of the entire team.
There was a mix-up with one of our dishes, and it was handled incredibly professionally, warmly, and kindly. I would really like to thank the team once again for the way they dealt with the situation.

C est nornal quue quand je suus allée chercher na boite surprise aujourd hui ( dinanche 26 avril ) a 21h30 que ka respinsabke me dise qu elle na pas de boite qui ferme bien et que tout ce qu elle px faire c est ma la taper comme il faut avec du scotch vert ,qui ne tien pas a moitier! Il a fallut je lui prenne un sac a vidadange transparent pour bien serrer etant a pied! et qu elle ce fache soupir comme si j etait un bebe gate de pas etre satisfaite et m ignorer en changant de piece dans ke resto? Preuve a l apouie et son gestuel parlera de lui meme sur vos camera! J admet que pour une premiere comande good to go c etait fort comme sac surprise!“

“Hace una semana fui con unos amigos que vinieron de visita desde Sherbrooke, la atención de las chicas es maravilloso, pero hay una persona LGBT, alto, delgado y de lentes que tiene una prepotencia para atender, inició una de las chicas atendiéndonos y necesitaba una servilleta, el chico estaba cerca y cuando se la pedí me volteo a ver feo y me contestó muy prepotente como si mi dinero no valiera ahí, luego le pedí una cerveza y nunca me llegó y me la quisieron agregar a la cuenta, y cuando le comenté a la chica, el chico se acercó y me preguntó muy grosero si siempre si iba a querer la cerveza o ya no, después de esperarlo por 20 minutos, no es la primera vez que voy, la verdad el servicio de todos es maravilloso, pero la de el no, no sé si porque yo también sea gay el se siente con el derecho de tratarme así o quien sabe, pero si deberían supervisar el trato al cliente de sus colaboradores, de ahí solo me queda agradecer por la comida que es muy rica 🫶🏽✨“

“The food here is incredibly tasty and delicious. My son loved the Le Bennie burger so much he asked for a second one! We also tried the Baos and one of the bowls—everything was absolutely delicious. On top of the fantastic menu, the service is excellent, the prices are great, and the place itself is very cozy and welcoming. Highly recommend!“

“Un lieu que je fréquente à l’occasion et qui ne déçoit jamais. Chez Les Insulaires, on vient d’abord pour la bière — et on reste pour l’expérience. La Phare et la Lux brillent franchement parmi leurs créations : chacune bien construite, expressive, avec cette touche d’élégance qui fait qu’on y revient. Le Blanton’s Old Fashioned m’a aussi franchement séduit : soigné, précis, avec juste ce qu’il faut d’aplomb. Le service ? Sympathique, attentif, à l’image de l’endroit. Le décor est soigné, réfléchi, avec du style et de la personnalité. Le hall d’entrée, avec son architecture de haut niveau, annonce d’emblée un lieu conçu avec goût et maîtrise. Et quand je repars, une seule pensée me suit : à quand la prochaine tournée ?“

“Mauvais service. Un pogo a glissé du petit panier faisant un dégât sur la table et sur mes vêtements. Quand j’ai signalé le problème, une des commis m’a passé un rouleau de papier pour que je nettoie le tout moi-même. Elle m’a offert de remplacer le pogo, ce que j’ai décliné. Dans n’importe quel bouie-bouie, on serait venu passer un linge humide, pas ici.“
