“Je suis une cliente de longue date de Pizzaiolle, plus de 20 ans certain. J’ai toujours adoré leurs pizzas, leurs pâtes et leurs salades. Depuis la pandémie, ils ont perdu l’art de faire une bonne pizza. Cela fait 3 ou 4 fois que leurs croûtes sont littéralement carbonisées, non pas avec une ou deux bulles noires mais au moins 5 ou 6… croûte pas mangeable et dangereusement Malsaine. Cela n’a pas été mon expérience ailleurs incluant au Pizzeria No. 900. Bien dommage! J’espère que vos cuisiniers pourront trouver un juste milieu entre dorée et brûlée. Étrangement, les photos que vous mettez sur le fil Facebook ne sont pas représentatives de ce que nous recevons!”

“I'm surprised at the low ratings. We actually had a great experience. We ordered the smoked meat club and the pasta. Both were really good. I think it was a husband and wife duo running the place. They took their time prepping the order and I could see them doing it. All clean and well done. Portion sizes were good. Overall we enjoyed our meal!”

“Top five meals of my life. Sat at the bar and Bryan spent a lot of time with me going over the menu and wines which I could order by the glass. Let me sample the wines as well. I had five small plates and four glasses of wine. Some of these were absolutely exquisite, specifically the mushrooms. They made rapini taste good. Do you have any idea how difficult that is? The atmosphere was very friendly and decor interesting. Thank you so much Bryan and Chefs.”

“Had to try the iconic Joe Beef while in Montreal. Made resos well ahead to make sure we got the time slot desired. We were shown to our table. The dining area is sneaky large as there are lots of tables in various areas around the restaurant and also a bar counter area. The tables are very close together so it feels tight and gets very noisy as the restaurant is full.

Our server, Julien, did a great job in explaining the menu and offered up good choices in wine pairings for the food. We chose the beef tartar with bone marrow toast, smoked meat terrine, duck breast with duck sausage, and the halibut (fish of the day), and a side of asparagus. For dessert we shared the marjolaine cake. All the dishes were nicely plated and very tasty.”

“I had really high expectations for Restaurant Monarque and was hoping it would completely blow me away. While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn’t quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it’s possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher’s cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.”
