The cake was very good, but my house might have been very warm, the cake was more like a soft serve ice cream, instead of cheesecake consistency. So did not stay together when I cut it. The cake was eaten anyway, after I put it back in the freezer, it stayed together very well, and was delicious. The owner offered me another cake on them. Seeing how much the owner cared about her product and offered me a cake on the house, I changed my star rating overall. It's nice to have the owner contact you and try and rectify the problem. I do not go to Laval often, I did not write the review in hopes of getting a free cake. I will continue to buy her products, as I have often in the past. Everything that was bought there was very good.“

“I get my bread at Ecodep on Laurier. Having an irritable colon, eating sourdough bread is preferable. He is one of the rare bakers to make bread only with sourdough. The only downside is that the spelled loaf is not always available. Kamut bread is quite digestible on the other hand.“

Being from Ukrainian descent, I’ve eaten a fair amount of borscht, however, I’ve never tried a version with what seemed like pickled beets. It was phenomenal with the pickled beets - Hof’s borscht is thick and has a tinge of vinegar and was served with sour cream on top (so they know what they’re doing). Will be back for the borscht for sure.We also tried the cheese danish which was awesome, the homemade iced tea (which my husband describes as tasting like jelly beans), and bought a loaf of challah to bring home (which also paired well with the soup!).The coffee was unfortunately underwhelming for me, a bit too acidic for my personal preference.The interior of the space is a bit industrial yet cozy, it was nice to pass some time on a rainy day with a coffee and soup. The rounded pistachio croissant is good but the filling doesn’t taste pistachio as much as I would imagine , but is very good. I would like to try the chocolate one next time. 8/10“
