“I have been going to Cafe Souvenir for decades. It has always been consistently great even when the ownership changed a few times. While the former concept was fantastic with the passport menu and more choices than you could ever try, I love this current ownership and iteration of the cafe and menu. It’s owner run, so they know what they’re doing and the attention to detail is there. Warm milk with your coffee, omelettes brought straight from the pan, to name a few details I appreciate. They know how to cook; French from France style. So many restaurants in Montreal have gone up in price and down in value. Not Cafe Souvenir! They are doing it well and I highly recommend them. Great, friendly service. One of my regular brunch places.“

“We had lunch at this # Brasseurs location on St-Paul E. in Old Montreal on Thursday May 2, 2024. We choose this because we had a very good time at the other on on Rue de St-Denis on Tue 4/30/24. We had just completed a 2-1/2 hr walking tour that ended near here. So exploring is thirsty work & it was lunch time. Big brewpub with 2 levels. The upper level was hosting about 100 high school students on a field trip. We sat at the bar and were immediately acknowledged by the busy bartender, Marina. She brought menus & waters and took our drink orders. I had a spicy Bloody Maria ($6.75) & my bride had a white wine ($10). I had a loaded, juicy burger w/ frites ($20) and she had the chicken Caesar salad ($16). Well prepared, burger hot & salad cold-perfect. “Wow!!!! I am so glad that this was our last dinner in Montreal because we would have compared every other to it and would have been disappointed. It was absolutely nothing short of AMAZING! The drinks....best we had the entire time here.....the service was completely on point, friendly, efficient, and the place was busy. We started with sharing Solterito and it was so fresh, well-balanced, and light. My daughter got the ceviche rocoto and I got the anticucho de Pollo....both ridiculously flavorful. I wish I could have ordered one of everything on that menu...seriously. We shared the passion fruit cheesecake and it was perfect. I do not have a single bad thing to say. If you have the chance...go! I absolutely promise you will not be disappointed.“
