“Staff were very nice and efficient. The food came in a nice container compared to the paper container you find at other locations. The food was delicious (I took the #8) and was ready in less than 5 minutes. The food stayed hot all the way home which was approximately 30 minutes! Many great food options. “We had lunch at this # Brasseurs location on St-Paul E. in Old Montreal on Thursday May 2, 2024. We choose this because we had a very good time at the other on on Rue de St-Denis on Tue 4/30/24. We had just completed a 2-1/2 hr walking tour that ended near here. So exploring is thirsty work & it was lunch time. Big brewpub with 2 levels. The upper level was hosting about 100 high school students on a field trip. We sat at the bar and were immediately acknowledged by the busy bartender, Marina. She brought menus & waters and took our drink orders. I had a spicy Bloody Maria ($6.75) & my bride had a white wine ($10). I had a loaded, juicy burger w/ frites ($20) and she had the chicken Caesar salad ($16). Well prepared, burger hot & salad cold-perfect. Ambience of materials and lighting contrasts with nature of designer cocktail offerings and small plates food. Not in a bad way just interesting. Very loud. Music another contrast of contemporary and historic. Possible the youngsters thought it was all new. All the food we had was good. Shrimp cocktail charcuterie burrata and grilled bread.“

“Tried Bar George my first night in Montreal. Surprised my wife after telling her we are eating bar food tonight lol. Was seated very fast, beautiful building. It was later and there was some music playing, not overbearing, comfortable volume. Our service was excellent and very prompt. The food was unbelievable, the flavor's, the textures, and presentation was fantastic. Even the asparagus that came with my beef wellington was the best I ever had. The wellington itself was outstanding, every bite an experience. The meal was a bit pricey, but felt reasonable with the atmosphere, the service, and the food quality we received. We will definitely be back for a special treat every now and then.“

“Went to Nouilles de Lan Zhou in Chinatown on a Friday night with a friend, and let’s just say… my noodle dreams were fully realized.

I kept it classic with the traditional Lanzhou hand-pulled beef noodles. The broth was rich but super clean — the kind that tastes like it’s been simmering for hours, full of depth without feeling heavy. The beef slices were melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the noodles? Chewy, bouncy, fresh perfection. Watching the chefs hand-pull them right in front of you feels like dinner and a show.

My friend went for the braised beef tendon in brown sauce with noodles — a heads up: it only comes in one (huge!) size. She loved the deep flavor of the broth but found the meat a little fatty — tendon fans, you’ll probably be into it.

We both chose the standard noodle thickness, which gave a great chew, but next time I’m definitely trying a thinner noodle to see if it ups the slurp factor.

The vibe is casual and lively — classic Chinatown energy. It gets busy, but service is quick and efficient. Totally worth the wait if you’re a noodle lover, but you can always order takeout and enjoy a cozy noodle night at home.

“Hungry and not knowing Montréal, we looked for somewhere nearby. Oplante's menu was promising, and so we went. The peanut tofu was excellent, and the tempura veggies were delicious. The fried tofu was so-so (not my favorite texture of fried food, but I bet others would like it), and the sushi was interesting (and lots of variety). The peanut tofu dish was seriously great, and I look forward to having it again soon. Staff was friendly and helpful, though I would suggest asking what your table number is if it's not on the table already—this was confusing (because it wasn't on our table), but the waitress was super helpful in figuring it out.“
