We started with the seafood platter, then followed up with the lobster pasta and steak with foil gras. We were unsure what to order for drinks so the staff decided to get us a cocktail based on our preference and offered it to be free if we didn't enjoy the drink. They made sure to get the drinks right, even taking it back to make adjustments based on our taste. This made us feel like a priority.

“I had really high expectations for Restaurant Monarque and was hoping it would completely blow me away. While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn’t quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it’s possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher’s cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.“

“We were so excited about our return to the restaurant after having experienced its early days in its previous location. We were not disappointed with the dining in this location. It's a marvel to behold and the 10 course tasting menu was superb. The staff were all attentive and welcoming with sharing their knowledge and experience. Such a delight. For us, we would have done well with only 1 dessert course as it was difficult to finish both and the amount of bread for that course was a bit overwhelming. Everything was tasty, just a bit too much for those courses. As always, we are anxious to share our experience with anyone we know who is travelling to Montreal. Merci😊“

“Brought my pup along on a weeknight and the hostess brought over a water bowl before we even asked, which honestly won me over right away. The duck dish was outstanding, rich but not heavy, and the service kept a nice steady pace all evening. Sitting near the big windows made for a really relaxed atmosphere, not stuffy at all despite how fancy the place looks. Found street parking nearby without much trouble, and we'll definitely be back with the dog in tow.“

“What a fabulous dining experience. The menu is quite abstract, so it is perfect for any adventurous eaters. The atmosphere was great, it’s a really beautiful vibe. What made this place a 5/5 was the outstanding service. Our server Jasmine was a dream; she was knowledgeable, attentive and incredibly kind! Every member of the team that came to our table was just as courteous and gracious as we asked our many questions. Overall an excellent experience. Do yourself a favor and get the carrot cake!!“

“Hace una semana fui con unos amigos que vinieron de visita desde Sherbrooke, la atención de las chicas es maravilloso, pero hay una persona LGBT, alto, delgado y de lentes que tiene una prepotencia para atender, inició una de las chicas atendiéndonos y necesitaba una servilleta, el chico estaba cerca y cuando se la pedí me volteo a ver feo y me contestó muy prepotente como si mi dinero no valiera ahí, luego le pedí una cerveza y nunca me llegó y me la quisieron agregar a la cuenta, y cuando le comenté a la chica, el chico se acercó y me preguntó muy grosero si siempre si iba a querer la cerveza o ya no, después de esperarlo por 20 minutos, no es la primera vez que voy, la verdad el servicio de todos es maravilloso, pero la de el no, no sé si porque yo también sea gay el se siente con el derecho de tratarme así o quien sabe, pero si deberían supervisar el trato al cliente de sus colaboradores, de ahí solo me queda agradecer por la comida que es muy rica 🫶🏽✨“

“This restaurant really welcomed my beautiful date and myself on Valentine's evening. The food was fresh, properly served and the whole experience was warm with charm. We started off with escargots and it was the best ever tasted. We intend to return when we are in the city again. Million percent awesome place to dine at.“

The sweetbreads were the highlight of the meal, crispy outside and so tender inside that I almost forgot to photograph it before digging in. Our server noticed my camera bag and offered to seat us near the window for better natural light, which honestly made the whole visit feel more personal. I got the jagerschnitzel and she got the "wurst dog ever"...beer-battered bratwurst sausage with all the fixings. Only thing that was missing was the advertised pretzel bun! It definitely was far from the worst dog ever! 😜 It was very loud in there and service was slow, which I hope is not the norm for this place because the food, ambiance and beers are very good! Also, they increased the price of the pretzel by 20%. Overall 3.5/10 Our 1st visit at this brewery and not our last! 😃“

“Came across this place randomly and was so happy to have ordered take out. We got to tried samosas, butter chicken, saag paneer, Chana masala and garlic naan. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Wow. Portion and prices are very fair. My partner and I were very satisfied. We had some leftovers and we're excited to continue eating the next morning for breakfast. Just delicious!!!“
