“Gift Horse has been on our list for a while every time we visit Providence, and I am so glad we finally made it in. It was so good.

We came after dinner for some light bites and drinks, but honestly, I wish we had come here for a full dinner instead. The monkfish toast was fantastic, the oysters were incredibly fresh, and the martini was exactly what I wanted. 🍸

Even though we only came in for a few bites, everything made me want to come back and experience the full menu. This is definitely going on my list for our next Providence trip. A great spot for dinner, drinks, or just a few really good things at the bar. 🦪“

The French toast was definitely more sweet than salty, but it had great orange flavor and wasn’t overly sweet so we really liked it. The service was quick and friendly. “Went to the Foxes Hill neighborhood in Providence to try out a Morroccan spot, but it ended up being closed. Luckily, right around the corner was Aguardente, which is a Guatamalen & Portuguese tapas restaurant. Love the interior decorations and warm welcoming vibe. We started with quejo de cabra, rellenitos, & the minha caiparinha. Then we had the batatas fritas, empanadas de pollos, polvo grelhado, & almondegas. Everything from the service to all of the dishes being seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing.“

“Do not live here if you care about your car. On two separate occasions my car was vandalized and my roommates car was stolen from the off street parking. The landlords have done nothing to improve the security.“

We chose Hangry Kitchen, just 6 minutes from downtown. So much that I could say about the meal. But I will summarize it. I asked if I could get a side of tomato juice for my beer. (Yeah beer and tomato juice is amazing). They did not have any canned or bottled tomato juice. THEY JUICED SOME TOMATOS! The rest of the meal was just as memorable. “Great food, great beer selection, great service, and an unbeatable great view to the operations on the apron. The price is reasonable and comparable to similar quality restaurants outside.

I was there on a day when bad weather had resulted in many delayed and canceled flights. Being able to hang out, enjoy a couple of local brews and a kick ass fish and chips while watching airplane movement was the best thing that day.

This is the best place to eat in the Providence airport by a long shot.“

I only got pics of our appetizers as we were hungry and chowed on our mani courses. Started with a 1930 DAQ, Wawtuhmelon and a Vino Rosso Gaio - all drinks were tasty! We started with the Truffle fries and the Crispy Duck Meatballs- oh my both were great! The flavor in the Duck meatballs was amazing! The sweet chili glaze just hits it out of the park! On to dinner I ordered the Steak Frites - excellent flavor and cooked perfect! Wife ordered the Chicken Picatta - very tasty with a great lemon flavor! “I visited about a week ago to grab food quickly before boarding my cruise. I was in a hurry because the cruise boarded soon, and I let them know. Despite being a bit short-staffed, they were very understanding and got me my food very quickly. Also, the fries are delicious! Thank you for being so patient and understanding.“

“Believe it or not, I'd never tried Indian food until recently. I'm usually not one for spicy stuff, but this place was so close to home, and I was feeling adventurous, so I figured, why not? And let me tell you, I was genuinely blown away by what I ordered! My girlfriend, who knows her Indian food, totally nailed the recommendation. It was this amazing chicken dish with a creamy, orange sauce, and some perfectly buttered naan on the side. I can't remember the exact name, but I sure won't forget that taste! “Dined here last night before PPAC, for that reason we made an early dinner reservation. I confirmed when calling they had valet parking. We arrived to find no valet attendant. After some back and forth with hostess and manager my husband was finally able to come inside for dinner, nearly 30 mins wasted. Our server AJ provided exemplarry service; she was personable and knew the menu like the back of her hand. We appreciated her service, and our dinners were all very good. As we departed we confirmed with the tardy valet attendant if we could leave the car and pick up after the show as we do with neighboring establishments and he said no because they would be closed by the time the show was over; this couldn’t have been further from the truth. The valet was rude, late, and it’s terribly unfortunate that the valet ruined what could have been a great dinner with friends.“

“This is a unique and quaint place that is perfect for date night, friends night out, or family dinners. The kitchen does close at 9pm on weekdays and sadly our first attempt at eating here didn’t work out because we walked in at 845pm so we opted to come back the next week. The hostess and the server that we encountered upon arriving that first night were extremely friendly and kind and although we opted to not get a table as they were closing in 15 minutes they did recommend a few other places close by and pointed us in the right direction. It’s located in an older style house that must have been converted into a restaurant. They offer free parking behind the building or guests could park on the street if spots are available. They offer seating inside, at the bar, or in the outside seating area that included large picnic tables and opportunities for guests to bring their dogs with them. The menu is eclectic, unique, and offers a wide variety of Portuguese / American fusion dishes. The dishes they served the food on were adorable pottery style dishes and visually appealing. My husband and I ordered the street corn dip appetizer and the loaded chowder entree and we shared both of the dishes. The chowder came with grilled sourdough bread for dipping, including two large shrimp, two large scallops, and plenty of other goodies included in the chowder. The street corn dip came with homemade tortilla chips for dipping and it was delicious. We went for dinner on a weeknight and we had made a reservation for the two of us prior to ensure that we had a table at 7pm. We were sat inside immediately and it was busy for sure. Since it was just the two of us we were seated at a small round two top table which was a little small but it did the trick and considering how busy they were it made sense to seat us there. It was very hot in there but besides that the atmosphere was great and decorated so nicely. We waited about 10 minutes before anyone greeted us or took our drink order but once our server made contact he was efficient, knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, and provided great service. We’ll definitely be repeat customers as there is much more to explore on the menu.“

“Classic dark interior low lighting cocktail lounge. Our party of four enjoyed a mix of cocktails and a couple of beers at reasonable prices. Only a brief visit on this occasion as it was the one for the road as they say but would definitely return when I have more time.“

“First time as was in town from Newport to see Little Jagged Pill at PPAC. Bartender (Tim?) was excellent friendly, knowledgeable on menu and made great handcrafted drinks. Manager (she moved here from NYC) was also excellent. I ordered the pork loin special, one of my friends ordered to porchetta over grits (I was a bit jealous as it was amazing. Overall a great experience.“

“Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

“We just came by boat with two little kids not realizing the new fall hours. The employee working saw them peaking into the window and was so kind bringing them each out doughboy donuts. It was such a generous and thoughtful gesture that truly made these two little kids day! We look forward to coming again in the spring (during hours your open)“

“galactic theater is the best music venue in New England. Dave and his team of human beings keep a fun vibe, great music and interesting line-ups almost every night of the week. Fast forward to this weekend I suggested to my brother and others come here to kick off his bachelor party weekend and let me tell you this is THE SPOT!!! The wings and tenders were huge and the perfect balance of crispy and tender. Fries seasoned incredibly well. Get the honey bird sauce too. You won’t be disappointed. “What a fun spot! They have so many great liquors to try and games to play if you want to hang with friends. We didn’t get to try any cocktails but the menu looked great. I’m more of a vodka drinker but the beer selection was incredible and our waiter helped me pick the perfect wheat beer! 100% I’d go back (when in town). A definite 2 thumbs up!“
