“Atmosphere is an because most may appreciate a more reserved atmosphere. But clearly there are regulars here and they appreciate and know each other. Food was amazing. Servings were large. The side salad was more like a full salad in other restaurants but at a side price. The pasta and sauce were excellent. Bthrnfreah baked bread was worth waiting for n our server was prompt and checked in enough to show he was there for our needs. We weren't expecting much when we say the outside. But inside is a little bit of Italy!!!“

“Today was me and my wife’s first time going to Olneyville New York System in Providence and we were both in awe while we were there and we kept talking about it how awesome it was after we left. Not only were the wieners excellent but the fries are some of the best we’ve ever had. Gotta get the coffee milk to go with the wieners, it is delicious. Most importantly, I want to give a shoutout to the crew that was working today. You all made us feel so welcome along with being super nice and accommodating to us. All I can say is that we will be back not only for the excellent food but for the atmosphere itself. We’ll be looking forward to seeing you all again. Have a great day !“

“Had the pasta dish (began w L)and pork chop. Both were excellent. Really trendy atmosphere. Also loved the cheese cake dessert. The only thing was when it costs $13 for a glass of wine, I'd like a good pour. The pours were a bit small. Service was excellent. Pricey but expected this, would definitely go back.“

“Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

“Very unorganized in terms of orders, was given the wrong food twice. And server was wearing earbuds, and was unable to hear when being told they had brought the wrong order. However the food was very good so im willing to give them another shot.“

“Dined here last night before PPAC, for that reason we made an early dinner reservation. I confirmed when calling they had valet parking. We arrived to find no valet attendant. After some back and forth with hostess and manager my husband was finally able to come inside for dinner, nearly 30 mins wasted. Our server AJ provided exemplarry service; she was personable and knew the menu like the back of her hand. We appreciated her service, and our dinners were all very good. As we departed we confirmed with the tardy valet attendant if we could leave the car and pick up after the show as we do with neighboring establishments and he said no because they would be closed by the time the show was over; this couldn’t have been further from the truth. The valet was rude, late, and it’s terribly unfortunate that the valet ruined what could have been a great dinner with friends.“

“The food and atmosphere during our latest visit to New Rivers were both excellent, as expected. It was the service that really stood out on this visit. When we arrived, the hostess kindly made sure we sat at the table she selected for us, rather than the bar as we requested, because she selected the best table in the restaurant for us. From there, our server struck the perfect tone. Warm, hospitable, discreet, and attentive, she made sure that we were able to keep the night about us, rather than her service. She seemed to anticipate our needs, never interrupting at an awkward moment or lingering too long. We enjoyed a leisurely, intimate meal gazing at the city's twinkling lights. The food was, as always, excellent, a wonderful expression of seasonal New England fare, presented artfully. My favorites were the pumpkin hummus with crunchy root vegetables, which a perfectly refreshing, sensual way to start the meal. The scallops were also great, presented with a knockout green sauce and some perfectly-cooked potatoes and green beans. Highly recommended - get a reservation, skip lunch, invite the best conversationalists you know and tuck in for a great meal.“

“We visited for an early dinner. Our waiter Jake was outstanding! After a wonderful meal, my husband paid the bill & we were getting ready to leave when the manager came to our table to ask what was wrong & if we were unhappy w/our server.....'No he was fantastic' we said. Oh! he said, because we didn't leave a tip he thought the waiter had messed up.... suffice it to say.... husband had THOUGHT he left the tip when he paid. Apparently he didn't!!! Talk about being embarrassed!! We gave Jake a little extra in his tip. So, next time you're at Davenports, East Prov. ask for Jake... he's awesome & goes beyond his waitstaff duties.“

“Was there last night with family! Had a great time, yummy food & delicious drinks😉 I had two spicy margaritas 🥵with just the right amount of heat. The brisket melt with the homemade fries that I have to say were the best 🥰. The slaw on the melt was very tasty too😋 All in all the food was very good. Everyone at the table enjoyed what they had!! “The 99 is already one of my go to restaurants. This specific one was one of the first places I went to with the now love of my life. But I just want to thank the friendliest (I believe she was a cook) who worked at this specific location (North Attleboro, MA) who had an accent (that’s all I know about her, I wish I got her name) I had to take my baby into the restroom for a diaper change and while I was in there I discovered that an old baby food pouch exploded in the bottom of the diaper bag and covered all of our diapers. My son was all over the place trying to crawl off the counter where I made him sit so I could clean out the bag and throw out all of the rotten apple covered diapers 😭 and I was a mess until this wonderful lady who appeared to be a cook there walked in and offered to hold him for me and just held him there next to me, entertaining him in the mirror, talking to him until my mother in law walked in to check on us. Just wanted to recognize her kindness and make it known how thoughtful she was. “I’ve been there, I know how jt is” she said and in that moment I felt a bit of relief knowing that as a mom we are not alone.“

“My husband and I love coming here for a drink at the one of the outdoor tables with our dog. We’ve always had a great experience and Allen is wonderful. However, today we had a horrible experience with a woman working there who was terrible to us because only we just got a drink.“

Absolutely delicious and our server Samantha was incredibly knowledgeable with a humorous demeanor… If you are in the area, I highly recommend this hidden gem and ask for Samantha as your server .“

Excellent service from a very friendly and accommodating staff. And the most important part, the food, delicious! I took advantage of the lobster fest promotions. Lobster roll was delicious. “What a find! I found this a bit off the beaten path. But SOOO worth it! The 'Everything' sauce 9n the Fish and Chips was amazing! Almost seemed like they were using the pickled banana peppers as the base. Tie that with cilantro and a few other items and you have a real winner here.The sauce on the Shrimp had a similar flare to it, but tomato based (or just mixed in).So think about this a minute. You have a sauce with some pickle flavor. You add salt to your liking (I added a lot) and you have a very interesting flavor for the fries! Genius!The Chicken Dinner was an outside the box way for me to go surf and turf. The seasoning had explosive flavor. Just wonderful!I can't wait to go back for the Salmon!“

“My wife and I frequently go here for dinner. We never get a bad meal and the service absolutely fantastic. If you ever get seated in Melanie section, consider yourself blessed. She is wonderful, attentive, and is always pleasant and friendly. If she is on ask for her you will not be disappointed believe me. She deserves a raise in my opinion.... And my wife shares the same opinion..... If you haven't been to tavern in the square do yourself a favor and treat yourself to an absolutely wonderful experience with wonderful service, fantastic food (The chef's in the kitchen help need a raise too) that is very affordable. You'll be glad you did.“

“This was my first time eating here. Let me start off by saying I had the best scrod I have ever ordered in a restaurant. When the waitress came to take our order I decided on a grilled chicken sandwich. I did not want the fries so I asked to sub a side salad (which I normally do at any place where I order a sandwich, usually a up charge) she said we don't do that but you can have a potato and vegetable. Who would want that with a sandwich! I declined and ordered the scrod. She then asked what kind of soup I wanted (apparently comes with the meal) or you can have a salad. I can sub a salad instead of soup but not for the fries. ODD! The bill comes and I was charged for a side salad. This waitress never said there was a upcharge, which i found odd. I would have paid it anyway. To bad they don't offer something healthier than fries with their sandwiches. This would not be a place I would rush back to.“
