“This place is ok. We got the oyster, and I was surprised how unflavored it tastes, and I've eaten oysters around the world. The only reason I am giving this place a 4 star is because of the gumbo. OMG, the best I've ever had. Can't stop thinking about it. A must for everyone.“

“My husband and I visited Charleston for the first time for our 20th wedding anniversary. We stayed 3 nights and ate lunch and dinner at over 10 restaurants. Halls was the last meal we had on our last night and we were so impressed by their hospitality and delicious food and drinks. From the second we walked in and the hostesses so cheerfully greeted us to a manager coming by as soon as we sat down to get to know us then surprise us with glasses of champagne and then our server who was attentive, friendly but also gave us space to enjoy our dinner. Drinks came out fast and were the best cocktails we had while in Charleston. We are from Texas so it’s hard to impress us with steak but we enjoyed the dry aged Ribeye that was cooked perfectly to our liking. We sat upstairs and loved the overall vibe of the restaurant. This is definitely a must go to restaurant if you visit Charleston!“

“My husband and I decided to visit Charleston, SC, for the weekend. We ended up googling barbecue restaurants, and who would have known that the restaurant food, service, and atmosphere would be great. As we waited for our waitress to assist us, one of the cooks asked if we knew what we were ordering. We looked at each other, and then I looked at the cook and responded No. He replied I'll send out a sample plate. The sample plate had beef brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and smoked turkey on it. Just to let you know, the food was delicious. I chose to build my own and had the beef brisket, pulled pork, macaroni & cheese. Potato salad. Now I wasn't a fan of the potato salad, it had the taste of sour cream overload. The lemonade was very tart to me. Now for our waitress, Ms. Kirby was amazing. Her personality was amazingly pleasant. We thank you for your amazing service. Ms. Kirby, I pray many blessings of favor upon you and your brother. And blessings upon Swig and Swine business..Parking: There's about 4 parking spaces on the left side of the building and maybe 3 or 4 in the front of the building.“

“We were visiting Charleston, and our family has a number of food allergies - milk, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, plus I'm gluten-free. We are accustomed to limited options, being disappointed, and risking allergic reactions when eating out. So, we were excited to try Basic Kitchen based on the reviews. The location is great. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and the ambience is nice. Loved the energy and the vibes from the staff and the restaurant decor. There were lots of options for us to eat and I felt very safe (for myself and my kids). Thai butternut & red lentil soup was yummy. My hubs got the yellow coconut curry with tofu and it was really good. The sweet potato fries with the vegan ranch were amazing (really the ranch...you have to try it).I ordered the Naughty Burger without cheese and on gluten-free bread and was underwhelmed. The beef was great, but they left off the onions and gave me a dollop of dijonnaise on sandwich bread (sliced bread). That's it. Sandwich bread, a dollop of dijonnaise, pickles, and 2 burger patties. It was dry and basic. I would have loved a gluten-free bun, the option of vegan cheese, and more condiments. My son enjoyed his Naughty Burger without modifications. It did come with a bun.Overall, I was pleased that no one had an allergic reaction, everyone had safe options, and the food was good. I just wasn't blown away and was disappointed with my Naughty Burger. I wish I didn't have to sacrifice flavor for safe food.If you don't have dietary restrictions, you'll likely love the food. It's fresh, quality food with great service!“

“It's a nice hipster looking place with indie and alternative music in the background ? the staff is super friendly and you can see that they work as a team and get along ?‍♂️I tolerate spicy very little and well ? this place has very few menu options and several of them are, guest what? spicy ?️? however the good reviews and photos made us come ? the little I tried from my boyfriend's dish (Pad Kra Pao) it seemed to me that the meat was very well seasoned, and he was fascinated by his dish, the buns we ordered to share were delicious, sweet and soft, both the bun and the meat ?; my greens tasted sooooo good, we were impressed; the Jiao Zi were a surprise, I had never tried that flavor profile and I It seemed very interesting honestly but I also started to burn my mouth our waitress Natalie saw me struggling with water and my ginger beer and brought me ? milk like ❤️ it was the freakin’ sweetest and most considerate gesture on the ? because I knew that it would be spicy and I still took the risk and didn't ask for help but she was watching our table so she noticed it honestly super attentive not only with that but with her whole service during our stay, I am so pleased whenever I get actual quality services, 5 stars for Natalie ⭐️?We were satisfied in our tummies and our hearts ? Bar George Bar •
1956 Maybank Hwy UNIT E, Charleston

“I love this place! It’s a regular stop after the Pourhouse. Usually I order a house/well bourbon on the rocks and pay cash. It’s always been $8. Tonight I gave them a $20 bill and got $7 back. I was gentle and kind (I think the bartenders would agree) and said I think y’all forgot a $5 bill. They showed me their little hand held pay system and I was clearly able to see there’s a $3 up charge for getting ice with your house bourbon.I hope I am not being rude, but that seemssilly to me. Maybe I need to be thanking my previous bartenders here for not charging me $3 for ice. I hope I’m not throwing them under the bus. However this ice up charge that’s a bit extreme seems silly to me.The reason I’m writing this review is there obviously seems to be a discrepancy. I still love this place and think it’s fantastic. I just want to communicate so y’all can figure this out. Thanks for the many nights of amazing service and great vibes! I’ll be back.“

“Great wings. Their reaper wings are great. In regards to all the reviews saying th they had to wait, chill out. It’s a dive bar. The bartenders are great. If you’re going to ask for an aperol spritz, this isn’t your vibe. The guy named Stalker has great taste and music.“

“Great little bar!!! It has about 6 bar stools but has seating outside. My wife and I walked over from the hotel next door. We got there just before it opened. The GM, Andre, was next door at Victor's setting up chairs. He stopped what he was doing and came over to to talk with us and to open the bar. He was very nice and was able to recommend a seafood place down at the marina. His recommendation was spot on!!!“

“Came across this place because it was close to our hotel, but it was so worth the visit! We had a group of 9 and everyone loved their food, especially the fries & sauce. In addition to the food, the service was above and beyond! Jessie took great care of us and the other 2 staff were incredibly kind and attentive as well! If you're in Charleston, definitely check this place out!“

“Visited on a Wednesday night - decent size crowd. Was supposed to be karaoke night, but they didn't have it due to plumbing issues.Ordered several beers, a Jack & Coke, and a Mule. Cocktails were decently made. Prices very reasonable.Service was good and attentive. Fun, divey atmosphere. Would recommend for a fun drink (or several).“

“We visited Hunley's for the Sunday night football game. The Bills/Dolphins crowd was fun and friendly! My potato skins were great! The most impressive part of our night was the gentleman who was our server. He was so attentive and basically waited all the tables, very quick on his feet and very accurate with our order and timing for additional items and drinks!!Parking: This bar is in a plaza.“

“UPDATE: Salad is still amazing. Come here regularly now and it is always consistent and delicious!!Also love the crispy smashed potatoes. One of the best salads of my life. Greek salad add roasted chicken.Everything about this salad was perfect. The thought that went into the topping preparations shows in every bite.I loved the textures of each bite. Each topping was chopped at the perfect size and each topping was the perfect portion adding perfect amount of flavor to the salad, not overpowering anything. The chicken being chopped into the cubes allowed chicken to be in each bite. The pita bread! oh wow was it soft, and it was perfectly warm.I am not a dressing pourer kind of person, so the consistency of the dressing was so so nice for people like me who dip the bite. But I ended up just using the pita in the dressing for each bite.I usually went for it in a wrap with the bit chunks of feta in there but this salad was. so. good.I will continue to come here.Place is clean, friendly service, delicious food, quick service. It is a perfect lunch spot!Give it a go! And to the chef and team there keep up the wonderful work!!Vegetarian options: Tons of vegetarian options, salads, wraps.Kid-friendliness: they have items for children as well.Parking: It can be tight depending on time of day but there is a side lot as well so it works out.Wheelchair accessibility: Tables have removeable chairs. The front door is wheelchair accessible. Plenty of room between tables as well.“
