“It was an unplanned visit to High Cotton. Our party was very underdressed. The hostess was quite pompous and gave the impression we should go elsewhere. Obviously if it was a planned dinner we would have been well dressed. The food was exceptional. The staff were incredible. But our waiter, Jamal, made our experience very memorable. He made sure we were welcome despite our attire. Jamal and my 11 year old grandson became good friends for the evening. Jamal was impressed with my grandson's order of a pot of mussels in garlic sauce, smoked duck, lobster mac and cheese and strawberry shortcake. Jamal was the highlight of our evening. Our family highly recommend you ask for Jamal if you visit High Cotton. The next visit we will look our finest and definitely ask for Jamal.“

I’ve been fans of Kwei Fei since back in the days of their pop ups at The Daily. They’ve always brought the heat (literally) and have been eager to try this new venture, Beautiful South.

Stopped in for Sunday Brunch and it did not disappoint. The char siu fried rice had that familiar wok char and was on point! Also had the char siu bao, salt and pepper pork, and shumai. It brought back memories of dim sum in the Bay Area (big compliment) but without the old lady that gets mad when u don’t like what she has on her cart! ?

This was our second time dining in and, while the first time was fine, Martin absolutely made our experience much more enjoyable, even when his section got busy. He made recommendations that felt authentic and made our friend’s first time at Ranch Lewis that much better. We even talked about him on the way home! He is an amazing asset to the restaurant.

“Came for an early dinner with some friends before a show and was not disappointed. Located in a little pocket sort of near Hampton Park, expect to spend a minute circling the block to find parking. Renzo is unassuming but light and bright in a corner spot with tables and booths and a normal bar. We were early enough for unexpected Happy Hour specials (on a Saturday) and took full advantage - meatballs and discount cocktails. Meatballs were soft and moist and flavorful with 4 per order. Miso were better than the Roman (strong sauce with almost raw garlic) but we liked both. Drinks were all solid, from Happy Hour on. Get the guava-lychee drink. The rest of the menu is split into pizzas and not pizzas and we picked a few from both. The Caesar and most other dishes are perfectly portioned for one or to share amongst a table of four. We ended up having the Caesar, two “not pizzas”, the two orders of meatballs, and two pizzas and it was perfect for our group at a great price. Some dishes were a split like/don’t like (lemony potatoes & desserts), but as a whole we didn’t have a bad bite. A great spot for a little less than a la fancy pizza & pasta dinner, Renzo delivers.

Had some friends stay at an Airbnb across the street and it was convenient so I finally went. I’ve now been twice in less than a week. Everything is so fresh. Well flavored. Delicious. Cocktails are lovely. Staff was helpful and attentive both times. I also learned that some of the bad reviews here are dishonest. I’m here to say- ignore them and go. We finished our lunch having been there a total of one hour , enjoying talk with nephew who we hadn’t seen in months when another employee rudely and abruptly said “so, are you ready to settle up?” Never have we felt like we were being ejected from a restaurant! And the real rub is there were at least 3 empty tables and a booth in our seating area. We three were so stunned by her rude manners, we politely gave her our card, (and she took the liberty of pre-selecting a 22% tip which we gladly gave our server)paid our bill and left - NEVER TO RETURN!“

“Visited this place about 5 years ago and we made it back here. They used to be very vegan forward but now they've seemed to shift towards general healthy dishes including vegetarian and fish options. All that to say, this is a great place to grab a healthy lunch!“

“I’ve ordered delivery and we dined in once. The restaurant is very small. Three tables. But it’s very clean. I have celiac disease and it’s difficult to find safe gluten free options that still taste good. Slice made me feel so comfortable about no cross contamination, and this is easily the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. The dough is made in house, and they pay attention to detail. The sauce and toppings are very flavorful and fresh. This is a small business I will continue to support.“

“We celebrated my wifes birthday here and it was a wonderful experience. The Restaurant has an old world style, beautiful art work and feels luxurious. Our waiter (drives up and down from Georgetown and has been with the company for 2- plus years) was wonderful, a great story teller, knows the food and the wine.
I ordered a famous nitrotini - you can read what it is on the website, but while it was good, I would just stick with a classic made drink.
We ordered Steak Tartar, Grilled Octopus, Onion Soup and Ecargot, all were great. For our main clourse, we ordered steaks and way too many sides (Portions are big, so no need to order too much). All in all a fabulous experience and we will be back soon.“

“Lot of vegetarian choices. All of the menu can be made vegetarian and then you can add your meat to the dishes. Being vegetarian that was very nice to see. The place is really small and the parking upfront is limited but since it's in a shopping complex you can park there and walk. We ordered Santa Fe and California burrito and both tasted good. We ordered chips and salsa and it was good too. Service was good. Food came out in good time.
