“The best Asian restaurant in Fort Mill, by far! Don’t even mess with Akahana, just go to Konnichiwa. They’re still getting 5-stars even though, after I told them I was horribly allergic to corn, had corn in my rice bowl. They made it right and apologized. Good thing CVS was next door. A true hidden gem!“
“My absolute favorite place to eat sushi in Charlotte. We drive an hour almost everytime to come here because its the absolute best. Large menu and the best prices in Charlotte. Kept asking for seconds and my bill wasn't any higher than $30 food is fresh and taste is glorious. Great sized servings too!“
“This has been my go to spot for sushi since I found it less than 2 years ago. I have been over a dozen times and have only been disappointed when I cannot get a table. They do not take reservations, and this is one of the very few restaurants that I feel is worth making the extra effort to come early to get a table. In fact, I’ve been hesitant to write this review for fear of not being able to get a table if they get busier. The fish is fresh and fabulous and the waitstaff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. There is an impressive saki list and quite a variety of wines. Recently, they have added a screened outdoor dining area, which I’m told will soon have fans installed. This executive chef is one to watch as his future ventures develop. I’ve now been to his Omakase by Prime Fish in the Cotswold area which is worthy of a Michelin star!Parking: The restaurant is in a Publix shopping center with plenty of parking available.“
“I ordered the donkatsu and the yellowtail roll for take out.The yellowtail roll was very good, with minimal rice thats not flattened to death like some other places. It perfectly encompassed a large piece of yellowtail that tasted fresh. It was very addictive in taste and mouth feel for me.The donkatsu was breaded and fried perfectly with minimal breading (which i love) surrounding a nice juicy pork cutlet. Also very good.I definitely want to come back to try the other sushi options.“
“We eat a LOT of sushi, but this was my first time having a sushi “burrito” and it was fantastic! Very fresh tasting and generous portions. I will typically eat 2-3 sushi rolls but I was stuffed after a single burrito. Highly recommend the Zen roll!Parking: Ample parking spots, you will have no issue finding a space.“
“Exceptional booking for a birthday drink and dinner at Hestia. Very nice view and ambiance.Friendly, attentive staff are always near by for questions and service. They were upfront that our drinks may take a few minutes as the bar was busy and they only had a single, new bartender. This was not a problem and was a good heads up, and let us enjoy our view for a little bit, and we had full glasses of water and a menu to look at.We had 2 drinks, 2 apps, and 2 meals. Everything was exceptional in flavor and freshness. My only suggestion is with the scallop appetizer, it was AMAZING but there is only 1 scallop. I'd much rather see a higher priced option with 3 scallops. They treated us very well for a birthday dinner and we will be back. A+ on the food and service.“
“Great sushi, bento boxes and kids meals. Our service was great and the crazy roll were flavorful. The ginger dressing was fresh and the miso soup was one of my favorites. Our table ordered a variety and were glad to try hibachi and teriyaki entrees. We look forward to more to try.Kid-friendliness: Different options to try“
“Clean place. Service was good. We had appetizers - brussel sprouts and deep-fried chicken. Both delicious. My party had sushi. I had shrimp teriyaki with fresh vegetables and fried rice. Delicious. Little pricey but definitely a return place for us.“
“The service here is great, both quick and friendly. The food is authentic and traditional. If you want Japanese food, this is where you get it. The food is reasonably priced, considering how good it tastes. I would definitely recommend as a family experience if you have older kids, as the small building would not accomodate for super loud noise.Dietary restrictions: If you are vegetarian or dairy free, their menu can accommodate for that naturally since a lot of their dishes do not have dairy. Also, since many dishes are rice-based, gluten intolerance may be accommodated for as well. If you have Celiac's though, I'd contact the restaurant since they do have wheat noodles in their ramen and I'm not sure if they have gluten free soy sauce.“
“This is a little restaurant tucked into a shopping center in Ballentyne in Charlotte. I travel to Charlotte on business about once per month. Every trip, I am here. This place is excellent. Good spice in the meals!! Great service. Definitely I great place if you are in town. If I ever move back to CLT, I would be here often.“
“Absolutely amazing. The server is incredibly friendly and took our order while preparing others. The food came out super fast and was to die for. Superb for mall sushi absolutely Reccomend. If you have 5-10 minutes to spare come enjoy some killer “
“As a Seattle native and recent transplant in CLT, Miku is my go-to spot for sushi. I’ve had the pleasure of dining a handful of times and it never disappoints. The staff is friendly and the ambience is inviting. The restaurant is very clean and organized. In my opinion, Miku’s overall quality & value easily beat out the competition - Red Sake. I’ve recently moved further away from Miku, but I will continue to make the drive for some great sushi!“
“This place is definitely worth a visit!! Sushi is one of our favorite but hard to find a good place. This place checks all the boxes. Food- I think my rolls were Spider, Hibachi beef and Miru Mountain and they were sooooo good! My fiancee ordered a bento box and the meat was very good and tender. The service was great, the staff is very welcoming and attentive. The presentation was beautiful and price is very reasonable. The atmosphere is nothing pretentious, is on the darker side, more light would be nice. We will definitely be back! Enough parking right in front of the restaurant, so that is a plus!“
“We highly recommend Kin Steak & Sushi. We ate there for the first time last night and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was AMAZING! My daughter and I had sushi and my husband had steak. We enjoyed talking with the owners and can't wait to go back!!“
“Masa sushi is my go to place for Chinese food. The rice is always cooked to perfection, the ladies at the front are always courteous and my food is always on time. I gave them a 4 in atmosphere due to the small space. There aren’t many table but it’s okay for me because I only order takeout. Every dish that I’ve tried I loved except for the Lo mein noodles, to me they are too dry. The fried rice is superior to any fried rice I’ve had in the area. Lately, I’ve been getting the honey and sweet&sour chicken. The sauce comes on the side and the chicken pieces are small and crunchy. If you get a combo, it comes with a spring roll or egg roll. The spring roll is crispy with a peppery cabbage filling that pairs well with these sweet and savory dishes.“
“I've been a loyal customer of MingFu Matthews for several years now, and I'm delighted to say that the taste of their food remains consistently excellent. Not only is the flavor unchanged, but the prices remain very reasonable, and the portions are always generous. It's reassuring to find a place that maintains its quality over time, and because of this, I'll continue to be a regular patron!!“
“My wife and I saw this place, and our curiosity peaked because it's a buffet.Food was abundant, freshly placed for us to enjoy, the plates are clean, and mostly good food.Im no expert in asian food, but i know the quality is really dependent on what you select. Some things are mass-produced quality, and most things are better quality flavor and presentation. The menu was atraight forward, we ate on friday night and adults can have anything in the restaurant, everything, including crablegs. That's 19$ for all you can eat, drinks are poured by an incredibly swift, polite army of waitstaff. We were not forced to tip automatically. We can choose our tip level; be aware that certain sized parties have a percentage tip included. I'm not sure what size.My overall expectations for an enjoyable buffet is great here. Try it yourself.“
“Whitaker's offers a delightful sushi experience right in the heart of Fort Mill. With a 5-star rating from the locals, it's clear that this place has made a positive impression1. The menu features a variety of Asian cuisine, including sushi bars and cocktail bars, perfect for those looking for a mix of flavors. Customers rave about the original sushi rolls and the good variety of flavors. The happy hour deals are particularly enticing, offering great value for money. One unique aspect of Whitaker's is their house-infused cold sake, which is a nice twist for those accustomed to hot sake. The ambiance is described as hip and modern, making it an ideal spot for a date night or a fun evening out with friends2. While the location can be quite loud, the quality of the sushi and poke bowls more than makes up for it, with many customers claiming it's the best sushi in the area. The service is also highlighted as being on point, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. In summary, Whitaker's seems to be a fantastic addition to Fort Mill's downtown dining scene, offering fresh, flavorful sushi and a vibrant atmosphere. It's definitely a must-visit for sushi lovers and those looking for a lively spot to unwind.“
“My Dad's favorite restaurant. It was where he always went to celebrate with his wife who just passed away. Sushi is always good. Staff was great with our daughter. Thank You!Kid-friendliness: Staff is great with kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Tables are easy to make room for wheel chairs, there are no stairs or need to worry about not making it through. Plenty of HP parking.“
“Wonderful sushi and great hot food options. My favorite is Spicy Thai Basil chicken and for sushi I love the Red sake roll as well as the Phoenix roll. The staff is awesome. Have followed Steve and Yisa from Wild East Bistro and happy they are so close by! Give them a try!“
“Everything here tasted amazing! Very nice and attentive server. I ordered miso soup, salad with ginger dressing and 3 California rolls and all of it was delicious ?! My husband had the Mongolian beef and he loved it . Said it had the right amount of spice to it. We also got fried gyoza and they were so tasty as well. I rate this place 10/10.“
“This place is an amazing. It's a small place on Monroe Rd, but they have a BIG IMPACT. The food is great. I typically get the eel and they have about 4 eel options. The wasabi is great. I feel right at home and the people working here are always the nicest. If you're looking for good sushi, here you have it. ✌?“
“I have been here a few times and don’t have any complaints. It was a later lunch when we went so there wasn’t a lot of people inside. I ordered the Volcano Roll and the Edamame. Everything was so tasty and made well. The volcano roll sounds spicy with the jalapeños on it and yet it perfect.“
“Typically the food here is pretty good. Today I received the most bland plate of food ever. Total waste of my money and these days money is precious. You know how hibachi has a certain taste…yea this plate of food does not. No seasonjng, the shrimp has tracings of it being stuck to the pot, the rice appears to have never been put on the grill. So very disappointed.“
“We were there to have Birthday dinner for my husband. We sat outside and the ambience was very pleasant. The server was very busy and that’s when the young girl Selina ( greeter) got into action and took good care of us from start to finish. She was amazing and did everything with a smile. Food was awesome too. All in all , great experience!!“
“After a 10+ year pause on Japanese steakhouses, we had a large party here for my son’s birthday. He and his friends really enjoyed the dinner. My husband and I sat at the sushi bar and ate some rolls and edamame. The atmosphere was dark and a light smoke hung in the air. This might be unavoidable with the fire and steam as part of the show, but it did bother me. They do have large fans over the cooking areas. It was very crowded also, but on a Saturday night this is probably to be expected. The hibachi diners reported the food was excellent. We didn’t realize they were going to mix the food orders and give everyone some of each others orders. My son is significantly allergic to shrimp and began coughing and sneezing and his throat tightened as soon as he started eating. He ordered steak but some shrimp was put on his plate. He didn’t eat it, but shrimp must have touched his food somehow. It would be best if the waiter asked about food allergies at the time of ordering and took careful precautions. It could be an extremely dangerous mistake to make.“
“We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The waiter was very attentive. The atmosphere is very nice and you can hold conversations as its not too loud. Linen table cloths add a nice touch. You can feel comfortable dressing business casual and up. Jeans and a dress shirt worked for many. The food is fantastic. I had the Mare which is seafood over linguini. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of seafood, especially that it had a full lobster tail and a claw. Based on that I felt it was very reasonably priced. Great place for a night of Italian food.“
“The staff are awesome. Knowledgeable in their ramen. We usually get the spicy miso and potstickers. Flavors and portions are always consistent. Great location inside the Whole Foods. They have mentioned having a sister restaurant off of Central Ave..... where is this ramen joint you speak of ?!??!?!??? Don't be intimidated by the price. You get what you pay for and its quality and good conversation.“
“The food is always great! The waitress did forget to put in my cucumber roll and then said she didn't think that they made them. Once I told her what's in it, they were very accommodating in my request for this simple appetizer. There is a lot of loud music played when someone is celebrating a birthday, but that's part of the experience.“
“Great sushi, first visit , parked behind building, liked the waterfall, the buy one get one rolls seemed like a good deal but rolls were a lot smaller than expected, sushi was very fresh though, service was great at first , but a lot slower later , full bar was nice option, hope to be back soon , thank you!“
“Have not been here for a while, I meet with my friends have dinner here. The Shui Mai was so good, not even get time to take picture all gone, lol. Sashimi was fresh and tempura was good. Especially fried rice noodle, we got shrimp fried noodles, it was very good! highly recommend! Plus my friend ordered a bento box, a lot of different things can eat, will try next time! Hope be here soon!“
“I love this place so very much. Over the last several years since they have opened, they've maintained good quality food, good service, and quick order turnaround times. All this even whey they are busy which is most of the time due to the listed reasons. I love sushi, but it's one of those cusines that can add up quickly, especially if you have a large appetite like I do. Due to the fact that here, you can eat as much as you want for one fair price, it makes indulging on my favorite food possible without spending $100. Thank you Mr. Tokyo for existing!Vegetarian options: Salads and soups have no meat, and you can also modify rolls to not have fish.Parking: There's always spaces available.“
“Finally! Delicious hibachi in Charlotte. The sauces were really fresh and flavorful, all the vegetables had a great taste and texture, and the meat was tender. I ordered a medium, rare, filet mignon, and it was prepared more on the rare side. I thought that fifty two dollars for one entrée with one veggie roll was pretty steep pricing for takeout. The portion size were reasonable, but not large, and hibachi includes fried rice, but not noodles. Would definitely return for the flavor, less jazzed about the pricing.“

“I recently visited No 1 Poke Bowl and was blown away by the extraordinary service and the exceptional quality of the food. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. As a parent, I was particularly impressed with the gluten-free options available, which is a huge plus for families like mine with dietary restrictions. My kids absolutely loved the poke bowls, and it was such a relief to find a place that caters to their needs without compromising on taste. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were vibrant, and the portions were generous. It’s rare to find a spot that ticks all the boxes, but No 1 Poke Bowl does just that. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a must-try. We’ll definitely be back for more!“
