“Their slogan of “Taking care of brisket” couldn’t be any more spot on! Lewis BBQ was our favorite spot when we visited Charleston, and quite frankly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at… ever! I could argue Lewis BBQ deserves Michelin star consideration. Everything is executed perfectly, from the food to the vibe and atmosphere and ambiance of what a BBQ joint should be. The brisket, words alone just can’t describe how amazing it is! Good mix of fat and lean, succulent, and great flavor. Don’t sleep on the turkey either! It was very moist and tender, good seasoning from the rub and great flavor. The collared greens were spectacular, packed with great flavor! We loved the coleslaw as well and the corn pudding. There really wasn’t any one thing we didn’t like. The atmosphere and ambiance are great, a BBQ experience like no other! Definitely worth taking a detour and going out of your way to check out this place!“

“Yum yum in my tum tum my daughter said, and she’s right. Pizza, shrimp rolls and short rib ragu in a beautiful afternoon dining al fresco. And dessert from the bearded cat for the road. Terra was excellent in taking care of us and confirming our decisions. This is visit number 6 or 7 and I’ll keep coming back.“

“This place is ok. We got the oyster, and I was surprised how unflavored it tastes, and I've eaten oysters around the world. The only reason I am giving this place a 4 star is because of the gumbo. OMG, the best I've ever had. Can't stop thinking about it. A must for everyone.“

“Very cool vibe. Outdoor setting, live music but not overpowering. Drinks were tasty and the food was delicious. The only reason the food got a 4 star not a 5 was we only tried a blackened fish sandwich and a fried chicken sandwich, which were both delicious. But we didn't sample anything more than that. The staff couldn't have been any friendlier!Wheelchair accessibility: Appeared to be wheelchair friendly.“

“Warm friendly service, delicious food. We enjoyed Glass Onion. The shrimp and grits was lightly and flavorful, in a tomato base. The grilled trout had nicely crispy skin and was well seasoned. The red rice and broccoli slaw, nicely complementary. The Beatles, Stones, Doors and other old sixties and seventies tunes overhead.Loved it!“

“Fantastic food and service. We had the hush puppies, clam wraps, char grilled oysters, dark fried chicken. Also a couple beers and frozen gin tonics capped with a chocolate shake. All were fantastic. Only negative was the chicken was a little too bland for my liking. Oysters were incredible! Our server, Dorey was friendly and very helpful. Exactly the type of server I truly appreciate!“

“I was visiting Charleston and met a friend for breakfast at Harbinger. We were there as they opened their doors on a Saturday and there was already a short line. That's a good sign! I had the avocado toast named grasshopper. It was sooo good! I highly recommend this place for its inventive combinations and delicious bread.“

“Truly outstanding! I have visited Charleston for years, and yes there are good restaurants downtown, BUT Grace and Grit is equal or tops them!! We dined twice, and both times the food is exquisitely executed, so fresh, flavors created with great care, service each time over the top excellent! The manager came over and was truly a gem! He cares so much for the patrons, restaurant and staff, and it shows! Facility is spotless, modern, and very inviting. Lots of choices for beverages, and bourbon lovers will be ecstatic with 400 choices! Try the local appetizer clams, I am still craving them they are so good! We are from Florida, and their key lime pie is better than the original in Key West, and honestly other places I have had in Florida. Loved everything, from salad, to clams, oysters, fish all so fresh, and my husband had their pork chop that was also beyond excellent! This is our new favorite place first over anything famous downtown. Don't pass up- you will be sorry you missed. Location just a minute over the bridge, no challenges for parking as free large lot.“

“The James is a throwback to great American eateries of the past, and it nails it! Great ambiance, stellar service from our waitress Sommer, and a menu that says these things are good so we’re going to serve them just like they should be.Lisa and I had a post vacay decompress date, so we decided to knock this James place off our list of recommended restaurants. I will say after visiting once we will definitely go back. Being so conveniently located for us, and with such an enticing menu how could we not?I had a Hemingway daiquiri and tuna tare tare to start, and Lisa had the mushroom soup with a cloudesque puff pastry atop it. The soup was delicious but could have had a pinch of salt to take it to the best ever level. The tuna was so good I considered ordering more. With starters behind us we popped a bottle of Cab and tucked into a Spicy Caesar salad, Chicken Piccata, Parker house rolls, and Prime Rib with whipped potatoes. Classic right!? The salad dressing was perfect, the prime rib was excellently seasoned and the Parker house rolls were better than rolls from the actual Parker house in Boston!Finished with a creme brûlée and commenced to loosen belt one notch lolDefinitely give it a try next time your on JI!“

“I don't think we could've found a better coffee shop in Charleston! This was a local recommendation for us, and I am so happy that we got to stop in here. The baristas were super friendly and the atmosphere was perfect. I ordered an iced chai, we both got the quiche, and I also got a peach pop tart on my way out. We decided to sit outside since the weather was beautiful. They had the cutest outdoor seating which really tied the whole experience together. There is also indoor seating but we couldn't pass up sitting outside on such a nice day. The iced chai was delicious and the quiche was cheesy and yummy too! Parking was a bit of a scavenger hunt but it's totally worth it!“

“Finally, an authentic West Texas [El Paso] Mexican restaurant in Charleston, SC. The food was delicious with layers of seasoning and flavors. Authentic Hatch Chilis!! Everything was wonderful. Not your Daddy's Mexican restaurant.Update 4.16.2024: unfortunately the food quality has decreased since Patty left Rancho Lewis. Our last few visits have seen a significant slip in food quality - stale tortillas, room temp food, un-melted cheese in Chilis Rellenos, .... the food just misses the mark. Some items are still excellent, but there are disappointments also in execution.“

“Great food, great service, beautiful decor. Be prepared for an unusually loud interior due to hard surfaces everywhere. Marinated olives with orange zest and pizza were awesome. Probably need a loud atmosphere to turn tables because the pizza is so good and so many people order it, but just don’t expect a peaceful atmosphere. In a hurry and want great pizza in a place that looks super cool and feels lively and loud with incredibly friendly staff? Go for it! Sometimes that’s what you want to celebrate something and to keep things upbeat. We prefer to be able to have a conversation and relax, but it’s probably great for young people who are on dates and nervous because they don’t know how to have a conversation yet or people who like drinking at dinner and cackling and hollerin’ at each other.“

“I love Bad Bunnies. It's more than just a coffee shop in our neighborhood--they're our family! It's so clear that Mrs. Carol and Mr. Rick care deeply for their people and this community. And the boys' hospitality toward each and every person who comes in is just astounding. They make everyone's drinks quickly and with care, making sure that their customers get to drink their coffee exactly how they like it. I move away in August and have found myself increasingly thankful for Bad Bunnies' radical hospitality. You guys never fail to make us feel at home. xxxxx“

“We visited Charleston for my sister’s 40th birthday and our group of 7 people went to Stella’s for a late dinner. The food, atmosphere and service was amazing. As a group full of Greeks, we were all impressed with the authentic cuisine and they had great selections for Greek wine. The staff was friendly, attentive and made the experience enjoyable. We would definitely visit this place again next time we are in Charleston.“

“Cute place. Very packed. Went by myself and waited 40 minutes after being told it would be a 15 minute wait. I guess it took longer because I told them I had a preference to sit outside. They were very nice ladies, but the place is just overwhelmed by a lot of people on a Saturday (understandable). The hostesses prioritize larger groups first as they said they don't have single-top tables and they are usually seated at the bar, and she stressed that I could take my food to go (I really wanted to dine in). So if you come here, bring a larger group because if it's just you, you'll be waiting a bit. Another two strangers and I actually joined forces and became a party of 3 and were seated shortly after. The coffee was great! The bloody Mary was a watery pre-mix and it was mediocre but did the job. I ordered the eggs Benedict which would've been 10 out of 10, but the fried green tomatoes were pretty tough to cut through so 8:10. Otherwise, I highly recommend the dish. The fruits were really fresh. It's definitely a good stop, but don't go there during peak times or if you're looking for quick service. This is a place to relax and take your time. Skip the cocktails and go for the coffees- the barista made a d*mn good chai latte“

“I finally got to try daps, I always want to try but always tend to go to my regular spots but today I really wanted a breakfast burrito so I sought out a new spot for me! I ordered online because I heard that it can get really busy and it was easy to do so, I went and picked it up at the counter. I ordered the classic breakfast burrito and it was really yummy, I will say I am more of a spicy breakfast burrito kind of person but this was savory and cheesy! They put a cheese sauce inside and it was yummy, the eggs were very fluffy and the onions and potatoes were yummy! I think if I had a hot sauce or something to put on top it would be a 10/10 for me they give a green sauce on the side but it wasn't spicy. I still loved trying this place and I think next time I'll order a breakfast sandwich. Also their drinks looked so yummy. Definitely will be back for one of those.“

“WOW!!! YUM! YUM! YUM! Not only does Wes and his crew make some OUTSTANDING food, but their service is top notch as well! I got in touch with Wes at Brown Dog Deli months ago to cater a 200 person conference and I am so glad I did!! Everyone LOVED the food and Wes was on time and delivered everything as promised! I fortunately had the chance to stop by the deli the day before my conference. I told Wes that after viewing their menu so many times online, I couldn't wait until Saturday! So, I went by (and the space itself is so cool......old metal lunchboxes hanging on the wall....old games......such nostalgia!) and ordered the Paradise Panini along with their fries. OH MY GOODNESS!!! So much food (enough for two meals, but I ate all of it at once!) and it was absolutely perfect!!! And those fries?!?! WOW!!! I'm just glad I don't know the calorie count on those! :0) I had the "Folly Beach Crunch Wrap" in my bag lunch at the conference and that was just as delicious! I was able to grab a spare "Rosemary's Baby Daddy" for later and AGAIN.......absolute perfection!! THANK YOU, Wes for working with me and making my conference lunch a success! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE open a Brown Dog Deli in Greenville, SC! I think it would be a HIT!“

“Blind Tiger has always been one of my go-to spots in that area for lunch, or a weekend drink in the courtyard. The food is always consistently good, and the service never disappoints. The only downside, sigh, is that over the years the cheese curd portions went from "dang, how the heck can two people eat all this" to "hmmm, it costs more, but now it's a tiny side dish now, so get your own". Supply chain, inflation, who knows, but at least we all know that cryptocurrency will save us and make the cheese curd price inflation less impactful.“
