“Omg. Everything was top notch! The vegetarian in our group loved the sides plate (baked potato, sweet potato fries, Mac & cheese). The rest of us had ribs, wings, chicken, brisket and sausage. All was soo tasty, tender and delicious! Server was so attentive & great with the kids. We made a special stop here for dinner on a road trip. And it was definitely worth it. Also service was so fast. Quality food.“

“For a little counter service in a 7 eleven, Raise the Roost is pretty good and inexpensive. Mostly fried foods, but the tenders are pretty tasty.

They close early, usually done by 8 o clock. But still surprisingly fresher then some more expensive chicken places.

You order your food and then are free to roam around the 7 eleven. Then they ring it all up in one order.

There are even a few tables inside if you need a place to take a break from the road.“

“One of my top 3 Korean places in the Nashville area. Been here for both individual dishes as well as for the kbbq. Food and meat quality are always high, and always tastes delicious. Staff is very nice and friendly. You can cook the meats yourself or they can do it for you. The space itself is small an cozy so always packed.“

“The Brisket sandwich had a lot of excellent meat. Large choice of BBQ sauces. The sweet sauce was very good. The Brisket & pulled chicken plate had a ton of meat & two sides. Cafeteria style with seating in a food court. Very busy on a Saturday so had to wait for a table. Parking was also very busy. But would definitely go again during the week when Farmers Market is not so crowded.“

“First discovered this place 3 yrs ago when a friend was recovering from liver transplant @ Vandy and the condo he was staying in was just down the street. Now, we come here every time we're in Nashville. We always go to the Charlotte street location because they are constantly smoking the meats fresh, there's a generous amount of seating and the employees are always friendly. All of their meats are cooked perfectly (we've tried them all but the sausage, brisket, and ribs are our favorites) and they give you generous portions. The Brunswick stew is delicious, the collard greens are fabulous, and the mac n cheese is good. It's not cheap but we always get 2 meals out of each combo platter we buy. Oh, and the banana pudding is a decadently perfect way to top it off.

Parking: Generally there's plenty of parking but this last time we went the parking lot was full and we discovered there's an overflow lot behind the BK.“

“We decided on our morning breakfast to try here! It was amazing and the atmosphere and service was amazing…. Amazing menu options and Jams and biscuits. The Bronut was a biscuit stuffed with cheesecake, Fried Green Tomato Wrap and Pimento Cheese and Bacon Omelet was just a few menu items of amazing unique meals. We started off with a Biscuit Basket and Bronut (biscuit stuffed with cream cheese filing and deep fried and smothered in a blueberry compote) many assorted jams from mild to spicy. The pepper jams and jelly’s were amazing and flavorful. My wife had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit with potatoes, my daughter had the Pimento Cheese and Bacon Omelette, our son had the Daniels Big Breakfast: and I had the bacon breakfast tacos…. All our meals were great and fulfilling. There potato’s and grits were extremely flavorful and perfect sides! I highly recommend and give this place 5 stars for service, quality and food~ Julia the Kitchen manager was amazing and very warm and welcoming! “I had heard from several locals that Jack's was the best place in Nashville for BBQ. I had family visiting from out-of-state and after we toured Nashville for a few hours, we had built up quite the appetite. There were 9 of us together and I thought we might have to wait a while for a table, but I was wrong and we were seated promptly after whisking through the long line. They have plenty of seating upstairs and an outdoor patio to hear the country music from performers nearby. I had the 3-meat combo and it was to die for. Everything was amazingly delicious and my uncles who are die-hard BBQ lovers, gave me two thumbs up for my restaurant pick. Even the unsuspecting-looking cornbread was delicious! Be sure to grab a slice of Pecan Pie if you have room, cause it's well worth it. “While gas station food has a reputation for being, sometimes sketchy, things are looking up.Raise the Roost has a nice little kitchen inside this 7 eleven. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes are as good as most regular sit down restaurants.While you order from the Roost counter, you will pay at the 7 eleven register from a order receipt. There are a few tables for seating if you are taking a break from the road“

“The chicken and biscuits from Raise the Roost inside the 7-Eleven on Newtown Road and Providence are, by far, the worst I've ever had. The chicken was either overcooked and dry, with burnt outsides and —likely due to improper fryer temperatures or incorrect timer settings. The coating was thick and cakey, indicating poor preparation. Even the green beans had no seasoning or taste. I recommend not using salt if you decide to season. To top it off, the bathrooms were in horrible and smelly condition. I would've returned the food if I had time. Thumbs down! I took pictures but you cannot upload“

“I had the occasion to eat here twice in 5 days while on layovers. While the name SWETT’S BBQ is slightly misleading, I was not disappointed. This is a counter serve fast southern style restaurant. Our server was all alone at the moment we arrived but quickly took good care of us as soon as she finished with other customers.

I had fried pork chops, beef tips, collard greens and broccoli casserole. I’ll just say that I ate every last bit and that it all had ten times the flavor of today’s lunch at Ol’ Red across the way.

The variety here is good. Seating is shared with other counter serves but is ample and within an easy listen to the live music.
