“Love the old school feel of a Cantina with a bar outside eating. Walk up order bring it to your table. You have a bar where you can order drinks. Eat tacos in the sunshine or eat them inside. They also play great eclectic tunes. I had great service when I was there.“

“So delicious. We’re from out of state and we’re looking for a dinner away from the center of Nashville, that wasn’t a chain. We literally saw it on Google maps right before we passed it and decided to stop. SO glad we did. I’ve been missing the good pupusas I used to get in NW Arkansas, and was so happy when I saw them on the menu. We also had a sope al pastor, chorizo tacos and a new-to-us dish called pollo con tajadas. I recommend ALL of them.“

“I thoroughly enjoyed my steak burrito. The steak itself didn't stand out that much but did contribute. The tacqueria salsa and Mexican rice was great. I got the chipotle tortilla - I'm not sure if I actually noticed any difference versus a regular tortilla, but I'd get it again since I enjoyed the burrito as a whole. Chips and salsa were good too - salsa bar is nice.
The line was out the door and around the corner of the building - despite liking the food I doubt I'd come back for dinner again for this reason. Hopefully lunch is better.“

“Went here for late night Mexican and boy was it tasty! Fresh ingredients, served hot from the kitchen super fast service. Chicken fajitas were the bomb. Salsa with chips so perfect. Large menu. Festive outdoor area, playing Mexican music at a moderate level but still had great convo. If you're looking for a quiet fancy place this isnt it, more dive hole in the wall. Yummy, authentic, highly recommend!“

“Great chicken and the sides did not disappoint. Had to stop after driving by so many times and seeing the smokers going hard at all times if the day. I'm thinking there's tacos and plates to be made but I just rolled with what everyone else was ordering and I knew I could get a chicken even with my lil bit of Spanish (fortunately the cashier knew I was in over my head there). I'll definitely be back soon.“

“Review of San Luis Taqueria in Nashville
I stopped by San Luis Taqueria in Nashville on a whim for a late afternoon lunch, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. I ordered four tacos Mexican-style with the addition of tomatoes, and I was impressed with the quality. The tortillas were homemade, which added a delightful, authentic touch to every bite. The tacos were perfectly seasoned, fresh, and packed with flavor.
I also tried a sope, and it was exceptional—rich, savory, and wonderfully crafted. The accompanying red and green hot sauces were the perfect complements, offering just the right balance of heat and flavor without overwhelming the dishes.
Beyond the food, the restaurant itself was spotless. Both the dining area and the bathroom were immaculately clean, which speaks volumes about their commitment to maintaining high standards. The service was equally remarkable—the staff were friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome throughout my visit.
San Luis Taqueria delivers on all fronts: authentic, delicious food, a clean environment with excellent service. It’s a hidden gem worth visiting if you’re craving quality Mexican in Nashville. I’ll definitely be back.“
