“Finally tried this place, it is tucked away amongst a lot of little shops and restaurants on Medical Center. There was a wait, which we expected, not too bad though. First, the people are so friendly! Ann was very pleasant, and our server, Hadleigh, was just so friendly too. Plenty of suggestions on the food since we had never been here. So, the food: veggie omelette was perfect, just right, and the hash brown casserole was great. Short stack of pancakes were probably the best I have ever eaten. Lightly crispy around the edge and light and fluffy. I mean I will go back for the pancakes! Wife had an excellent Quiche Lorraine with grits and a pineapple-cheese side that was delicious but rich. Both meals came with bread, we chose the lemon-poppyseed muffins, which after the volume of food in the main meal we could not eat so we took those home and they were great without tea later. We had to ask the bar a couple times for items our server didn't bring, along with refills. It was also crazy to see a $.50 charge x2 for mayo on our bill. Four of us got our meal right away, the 11 of us had to wait 1 hour for their meal to be served. 1 didn't get her meal until after the 11 finished eating and she opted to get her meal to go as to not make the rest of us wait for her to eat. “I have to say the food at LongHorn is top notch and yet costs way less than the fancier steakhouses. I had the Filet Mignon. It was so tender and flavorful. This is my favorite cut of beef and I’ve had it at numerous high end restaurants all over the southeast. This by far is the best I’ve ever had! I highly recommend the new Parmesan Spinach dip for a different spin on chips and dip. I thought something was up when just getting a drink order in took way longer than it should have.I ordered a 6 piece chicken basket with tots, an extra side of tots, and an order of the fried avocado bites. Who also got their food before us.Now, according to our server, who once I asked to speak to a manager, stated the order got lost. The one girl, I have no idea what her function is, who kept yelling into her headset, grumpily deriding coworkers, and stuck with a permanent dour expression.I will not lie to you. The chicken strips and the tater tots were pretty damned good. Even the fried avocado bites were pretty decent. I am hard-pressed to say it was even close enough to overcome what can only be described as one of the most miserable dining experiences I have had in a very long time.Will I go back? Despite this location being literally 5 minutes from my house, probably not. I may go to one of your other locations to see if I have a better experience. I also stated that, due to the quick response and nice email, I would give them another try. Toot's has become a regular place to eat for me. Since the initial experience, all of my servers have been fantastic, no matter if I am at a table, sitting in the bar area, or sitting at the bar.
