“Super tasty bacon egg and cheese breakfast taco. It’s approx 5 inch x 1.5 inch and cost $4. One was enough for me but a dude would want 2. The drip coffee was quite respectable, not burned in the slightest and they have real cream. Didn’t need any sugar.

I’ve begrudgingly embraced being called a foodie and coffee snob so I’m always pleased to find small local places doing great food/coffee.

“We finally tried the Candied Rib Company today—and WOW… I’m still thinking about it 🤤🔥 We had the pork sandwich, beef, ribs (can’t forget those!), potatoes, banana pudding, and coleslaw—and every single bite was incredible. The flavors were on point, the meat was tender, and everything tasted homemade and dialed in just right. I’ve seen them online for a while and decided to give them a shot today… and I’m so glad we did. Hands down, this is the best barbecue I’ve had in a long time—and honestly, the best brisket I’ve ever had. No question. “As if the White Chocolate Vanilla Frappe wasn't enough, the atmosphere is pretty awesome and actually reminds me of my days in Seattle. A plethora of choices await you from the drinks to the pastries and the entrees, which I'm looking forward to trying. To top it all off, Keith is about as mellow and nice a person as can be, which makes going there an even more pleasurable experience. Take the time to get out to Donelson and find this gem, you will NOT regret it.“

“My wife visited here about 6 months ago and got coffee on her way to the airport and hasn’t stopped talking about it since. We’re here for New Years and she made sure we came by. I got an iced white mocha, which is better than anyone I’ve ever had anywhere else and we also shared a Biscoff cheesecake which was absolutely incredible. The staff is super friendly and the coffee is amazing, you can’t go wrong if you come check this place out.“

“This place strikes a great balance between quality and comfort. You can tell there’s a real passion for coffee here, but the atmosphere never feels overly serious or intimidating. The staff were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable. They were happy to answer questions, offer suggestions, and help choose the right drink without ever making the interaction feel scripted. The whole experience felt natural, welcoming, and enjoyable.“

“First: I’m extremely picky about my lattes. I am sensitive to overcooked (burnt taste) beans and undercooked (sour taste) beans. I have gone here repeatedly for iced lattes and they have always provided the perfect texture and balance. They are by far (and I don’t say this lightly) providing the BEST espresso in Nashville. Second: What truly makes this cafe great is that it’s the only cafe in town that makes you feel like you’re wanted. All of these cafes built in the last 20 years are hard, cold and sterile. If you’re younger than 40, you probably don’t even remember that cafes used to be warm, social, inviting and a home for many people. New cafes are so uninviting and I feel it’s done on purpose to get you to leave so more customers come in. But the Daily Grind? It’s homey, has couches, the walls are filled with all sorts of crafty love and plants and there’s a poster on the front that lets you know this is a SAFE space for all. It’s reminiscent of the old days when you had warm social spaces where you could spend hours every day with friends playing games, drawing, talking and no one glued to their phones. I hope this cafe gets to expand and provide even more of this nostalgic homey feel and bring that needed community experience back to Nashville. Third: GREAT food and customer service on top of all of the above“

“This is our absolute favorite place to visit when in Nashville. Our server, Destiny, is the best! Being from Eastern Europe, it just adds to the ambience of the experience. As soon as you walk into the door you are transported to Europe. The smells engulf you, as you walk by the most amazing dessert display. Do NOT pass up dessert! They have the most extensive coffee menu I have ever seen. If you’re looking for hair of the dog, you can add alcohol! We have never had anything bad here, every bite is divine! I highly recommend the Mexican hot chocolate, the avocado toast, and the rosemary potatoes (we dream of these).“

“My wife and I were exploring the historic Germantown neighborhood in Nashville on Sunday, October 4th, looking for a good Vietnamese coffee. We stumbled upon Em & Mẹ Vietnamese Café, and it turned out to be an absolute highlight of our trip!
We ordered their traditional Vietnamese Coffee and a Bánh Mì, and both were absolutely delicious. The coffee had that perfect, bold, authentic kick, and the bánh mì was fresh and packed with flavor. Our only regret was that we couldn't order more off the menu—we were still too full from eating breakfast at our hotel!
Beyond the food, the space itself completely surprised us. The decor feels like a cozy urban oasis, blending a deeply welcoming family courtyard with a stylish Saigon living room vibe. It’s incredibly charming, filled with greenery, and has a relaxed atmosphere that actually makes you want to sit back and stay a while.
We highly recommend Em & Mẹ for anyone in Nashville looking for fantastic coffee, great food, and a wonderful space to unwind. We will definitely be back on our next trip when we have an empty stomach!
Tip: If you stop by, don't forget to ask the owner, Tu, about the meaning behind the shop's name! It adds such a wonderful, personal touch to an already beautiful family business.“

“What a gem! The avocado toast was to die for - one of the best I've had anywhere. Ice latte was also delicious. Free parking was also nice. Visited on a late Sunday morning and it was crowded, be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes but absolutely worth it. Can't wait to go back when I'm back in Nashville!“

“THE ELEGY BURRITO- incredible. I eat it several times a week. The service can be a little cold, like you’re bothering them. But sometimes they’re really sweet! “We’re major coffee drinkers and have lived in New York, Seattle, and now Nashville, so our bar is pretty high. Crema absolutely lived up to the hype. The coffee was outstanding—easily some of the best we’ve had anywhere. Really well-balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care.

The space is small and gets very busy, which was obvious when we visited. Service was fine—efficient and professional, though not especially warm. That said, given how packed it was, it’s understandable.

If you’re serious about coffee, this place is 100% worth a stop. We’ll definitely be back for the coffee alone.“
