“It only took me 8 years to visit Little Gourmand but I was really impressed by the selection of French groceries available. Got me some escargots and a baguette from Paris and a few other treats like crème de marrons á la vanille. I’m going to have a French Easter. I got an iced white mocha, which is better than anyone I’ve ever had anywhere else and we also shared a Biscoff cheesecake which was absolutely incredible. “The food and service at Abem Ethiopian restaurant is amazing!! We were craving Ethiopian food after having moved to TN from the San Francisco Bay Area and didn’t mind the 1.5hour drive after experiencing a selection of dishes at Abem. We enjoyed a large salad, veggie combo and doro tibs which we shared and still had leftovers to enjoy at home. Any time we’re anywhere near Nashville we stop at Abem. “I've now visited Verna for takeout coffee on the patio, brunch-in, happy hour in the front, and happy hour in the back. All were lovely, vibey experiences. The food menu offers fun twists on staples and the drinks (coffee & alcoholic) are incredible. “This is our absolute favorite place to visit when in Nashville. Our server, Destiny, is the best! Being from Eastern Europe, it just adds to the ambience of the experience. As soon as you walk into the door you are transported to Europe. The smells engulf you, as you walk by the most amazing dessert display. Do NOT pass up dessert! They have the most extensive coffee menu I have ever seen. If you’re looking for hair of the dog, you can add alcohol! We have never had anything bad here, every bite is divine! “What can I say to express my satisfaction. 5 stars is not enough. I don’t live around here, and while in town, came for a small morning snack. I don’t like cream cheese unless it’s on a plain bagel (not toasted) and it can only be Philadelphia brand. Weird, I know, but that’s just how it is for me.
They make their cream cheese in house so I thought I’d give it a try.
And let me tell you the experience I had was ✨incredible✨
I tried a small bite first.

The realization: Wasn’t bad… was actually good! First thought was there wasn’t a single thing bad about it. I added more on my bagel.

The acceptance: With every bite, I tasted another reason why this was the best cream cheese I had ever had (coming from a person who doesn’t like cream cheese). First it melts in your mouth like whipped butter on a roll, then it graces your tastebuds like a flower blesses your sense of smell and gives this delicate but well rounded premium cream cheese flavor.

The second realization: Before I could even get through a few bites I was overcome with the fact that this cream cheese was the answer to my original dislike of the food. I was falling in love. But as I mentioned, I don’t live anywhere near here. When I tell you, tears started welling up in my eyes that this was likely the last time I would get to eat this creamy miracle. I was straight up CRYING IN MY CAR. Full streams now and I couldn’t stop laughing at myself for getting so emotional over food.
I’ve never gotten emotional over food like this before. Maybe it’s the pregnancy hormones, but I like to believe that this bagel place just knows that to make good food, you have to start with high quality ingredients. Oof that sounds like a corporate slogan. *cringe* But I can’t think of better words to describe what’s going on in there when they make their food. Anyways….

TLDR: get the cream cheese. I laughed, I cried, I wish I lived next to this place so I could get fat off their from-scratch bagels. 10/10 would recommend.“

My frustration was primarily with the response I received when I called, not with the owner’s handling of the situation afterward. I have since updated my review and rating to reflect the way the situation was addressed.

Let me start by saying I’ve been coming to Monamie for at least two years. I love the coffee and think the quality is excellent. Unfortunately, the customer service and overall experience have been seriously lacking recently, which is the reason for this review.

As both a coffee lover and a business owner, I understand the importance of customer service and providing customers with the product they paid for. I frequently order the 2 oz “doppio” shots listed on the website for use in some of my recipes. When I order 2 ounces, I expect to receive 2 ounces.

On multiple occasions, I have spent $25–$30 on espresso shots only to be significantly shorted on the amount received. The last time I addressed the issue, the missing ounces were poured and the situation was resolved. Today, however, I ordered six doppio shots, which should have totaled 12 ounces. At $3 each, that’s not an insignificant purchase.

When I got home, I weighed the espresso after zeroing out my kitchen scale and found that I had only received 7 ounces instead of the 12 ounces I paid for. I called the shop to let them know, and the response I received was disappointing. The barista immediately said, “We’ve had this conversation with you before, but our machine only pulls a little over an ounce for the pours.”

My response was simple: the website states that a doppio is 2 ounces. It doesn’t matter what the machine pulls if customers are being charged for 2 ounces and receiving barely over half of that amount. The issue isn’t the machine, it’s that the product being sold doesn’t match what is being advertised.

The dismissive attitude, lack of accountability, and condescending response were honestly more frustrating than the missing espresso itself. As a long-time customer, I expected better. Considering the shop is nearly a 20 minute round trip from my home, this experience was enough for me to decide to take my business elsewhere.“

“We’re major coffee drinkers and have lived in New York, Seattle, and now Nashville, so our bar is pretty high. Crema absolutely lived up to the hype. The coffee was outstanding—easily some of the best we’ve had anywhere. Really well-balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care.

The space is small and gets very busy, which was obvious when we visited. Service was fine—efficient and professional, though not especially warm. That said, given how packed it was, it’s understandable.

If you’re serious about coffee, this place is 100% worth a stop. We’ll definitely be back for the coffee alone.“
