The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they’re serving. They take the time to get it right and make you feel welcome while doing it. The atmosphere is peaceful, dialed in, and perfect for actually enjoying your coffee. The pastries are excellent, thoughtfully selected, and a perfect pairing with the drinks.

If you don’t already know, Sump Coffee has long been regarded as one of the best roasters in the country for the past 15 years, and it shows in every cup. If you care about great espresso, this is the spot.“

“It only took me 8 years to visit Little Gourmand but I was really impressed by the selection of French groceries available. Got me some escargots and a baguette from Paris and a few other treats like crème de marrons á la vanille. I’m going to have a French Easter. I guess you can take the girl from Belgium but not Belgium from the girl and sometimes I got to have the food I grew up with.“

“My wife visited here about 6 months ago and got coffee on her way to the airport and hasn’t stopped talking about it since. We’re here for New Years and she made sure we came by. I got an iced white mocha, which is better than anyone I’ve ever had anywhere else and we also shared a Biscoff cheesecake which was absolutely incredible. “The food and service at Abem Ethiopian restaurant is amazing!! We were craving Ethiopian food after having moved to TN from the San Francisco Bay Area and didn’t mind the 1.5hour drive after experiencing a selection of dishes at Abem. We enjoyed a large salad, veggie combo and doro tibs which we shared and still had leftovers to enjoy at home. Any time we’re anywhere near Nashville we stop at Abem. “We absolutely LOVED Verna. In the old Cafe Coco space, Verna feels so much more cozy and cool. We went during happy hour on a Friday night - we expected to stop by for one drink, but had such a good time we stayed for dinner and more drinks!

The food was a standout - crab rangoon melt (delicious and shockingly light), curry fries, and the crawfish pastry.

We had spritzes and martinis and they were all wonderful. Love the drink menu - the amaro emphasis is thoughtful and unique.

Awesome playlist and the bartender was phenomenal.

“This is our absolute favorite place to visit when in Nashville. Our server, Destiny, is the best! Being from Eastern Europe, it just adds to the ambience of the experience. As soon as you walk into the door you are transported to Europe. The smells engulf you, as you walk by the most amazing dessert display. Do NOT pass up dessert! They have the most extensive coffee menu I have ever seen. If you’re looking for hair of the dog, you can add alcohol! We have never had anything bad here, every bite is divine! I highly recommend the Mexican hot chocolate, the avocado toast, and the rosemary potatoes (we dream of these).“

“When we entered Stompin' Grounds for our Father's Day brunch we were greeted by Ha and let me tell you...that was the most energetic and happy greeting I have ever received at a restaurant and the whole party agreed!! She was constantly coming around to make us smile, but not in an annoying way...she did it so well that we felt special and well taken care of and she really made the morning special. “I have been coming to crieve hall for a few years. The food quality is great. I hope that they get more comfortable having two locations. The customer service is usually great but yesterday there was an instance where I ordered the orange dream doppio and had asked if they could make it hot and even mentioned knowing it had cold foam and some places didn’t like putting that on hot drinks. Well instead of asking enough questions, I got served a plain hot doppio and when I asked if it had cold foam the barista lied to my face and said yes. Then I mentioned that I’m a barista and I know what a doppio looks like and at that point he admitted there was no cold foam. Right before that, I heard another family say that their to go order drinks were made incorrectly too but they chose not to say something. Then my bagel didn’t have the proper ingredients either.“

My frustration was primarily with the response I received when I called, not with the owner’s handling of the situation afterward. Let me start by saying I’ve been coming to Monamie for at least two years. I love the coffee and think the quality is excellent. Unfortunately, the customer service and overall experience have been seriously lacking recently, which is the reason for this review.

As both a coffee lover and a business owner, I understand the importance of customer service and providing customers with the product they paid for. I frequently order the 2 oz “doppio” shots listed on the website for use in some of my recipes. When I order 2 ounces, I expect to receive 2 ounces.

On multiple occasions, I have spent $25–$30 on espresso shots only to be significantly shorted on the amount received. The last time I addressed the issue, the missing ounces were poured and the situation was resolved. Today, however, I ordered six doppio shots, which should have totaled 12 ounces. At $3 each, that’s not an insignificant purchase.

When I got home, I weighed the espresso after zeroing out my kitchen scale and found that I had only received 7 ounces instead of the 12 ounces I paid for. I called the shop to let them know, and the response I received was disappointing. The barista immediately said, “We’ve had this conversation with you before, but our machine only pulls a little over an ounce for the pours.”

My response was simple: the website states that a doppio is 2 ounces. It doesn’t matter what the machine pulls if customers are being charged for 2 ounces and receiving barely over half of that amount. The issue isn’t the machine, it’s that the product being sold doesn’t match what is being advertised.

The dismissive attitude, lack of accountability, and condescending response were honestly more frustrating than the missing espresso itself. As a long-time customer, I expected better. Considering the shop is nearly a 20 minute round trip from my home, this experience was enough for me to decide to take my business elsewhere.“

“I lived in Donelson in the 1990s and made frequent trips to Canada. But I never imagined decades later that my favorite Canadian coffee-shop chain would open an outlet in the heart of Donelson! From the mid-1970s to the summer of 2023, this property hosted a deplorable Krystal, a Nashville expansion project from a Chattanooga-based chain in which I had no interest. But on July 19, 2025, Tim Hortons debuted the state of Tennessee's first location here, converting the old Krystal building from an irrelevant and dated restaurant to a bright and shiny destination for Tim Hortons fans! And now, I can get my Canadian donut fix anytime I want!

Being Tennessee's first isn't the store's only accolade. It's the only Tim Hortons within the Nashville city limits, one of four in the Nashville metro all lying in close proximity in the eastern suburbs. And greatest of all, it's the only Tim Hortons in the first 1,648 miles (70%) of eastbound Highway 70, one of America's longest roads connecting Arizona to the Atlantic Ocean. That makes it the westernmost Tim Hortons on all of Highway 70!

And naturally, the Canadian maple donut is stupendous at this location. All the donuts are delicious, and the service is pretty good (depending on which employees are working). The door handles have hockey sticks, and the signpost out front is topped with a Canadian maple leaf. A mural inside pays tribute to one of the greatest NHL players who founded the company, the late Tim Horton (1930-1974). We're blessed to have Canada's largest fast-food franchise and the world's 25th largest with 6,000+ worldwide locations! It's a nice alternative to the other donut shop chains.“

“We’re major coffee drinkers and have lived in New York, Seattle, and now Nashville, so our bar is pretty high. Crema absolutely lived up to the hype. The coffee was outstanding—easily some of the best we’ve had anywhere. Really well-balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care.

The space is small and gets very busy, which was obvious when we visited. Service was fine—efficient and professional, though not especially warm. That said, given how packed it was, it’s understandable.

If you’re serious about coffee, this place is 100% worth a stop. We’ll definitely be back for the coffee alone.“
