“Would highly recommend Dancing Bear Lodge the staff is absolutely amazing we had car troubles and the staff was absolutely awesome and helped us tremendously. Would recommend them for anything if they help as much as they did for us today I can’t imagine how much they would help there customers!!!“

“The atmosphere was beautiful for us to celebrate our anniversary. Jacket required for men. We dined two consecutive evenings with different 4 course menus since it rotates every two days. The sommelier told us they have the second largest wine collection in the US, and they have a great selection of premium liquors. Between the courses, chef sent surprise tastings which elevated the experience. Before dessert, they sent Sorghum caramels. After I commented on how much I enjoyed them, our server went to the pastry chef and sent us home with 7 more caramels. Attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction made this an unforgettable dining experience.“

“Two things really stand out: 1) The food at this restaurant is DELICIOUS and 2) the staff and management are wonderful people. We ate here while attending Bugging the Dragon 7 (a Volkswagen enthusiast event) and the staff were so friendly and kind to our large group, allowing us to meet and park in their lot without cost. In addition to the accommodating and kind people who work at the restaurant, the food ROCKS! Particularly the appetizers. I highly suggest ordering the pretzel and the truffle fries.“

“30 years ago my wife and I honeymooned in Townsend we loved our stay at that time it was in the Valley View Lodge. We returned this year on or 30th anniversary. It was great to return to Townsend Tennessee the people were awesome I love this little town if you love nature and want to still enjoy it in its mostly natural form this is the place to go in the Smokies. Walking trails locally owned restaurants and No tourist attractions. They offer e bikes for riding and plenty of shops to shop in. Still the quiet side of the Smokies after 30 years. The restaurants were great we ate at atleast 3, every one provided quality food and great service for a small town. The staff made us feel welcomed and even like we were regulars. I hope we don't make it 30 years before we go back and I hope they continue to make it the quiet side of the Smokies because it's a beautiful city and a wonderful bunch of people. We had such a good time remembering a wonderful time in our life.“

“We came to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday, and every single moment of our stay was exemplary. As someone who has worked in the service industry for over 15 years and has had the privilege of visiting top hotels and resorts around the world, I can confidently say this experience left me completely in awe. From the moment we arrived, the service and hospitality were absolutely top-tier. Sophie and Holly greeted us with warmth and professionalism and continued to be incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Their attention to detail and genuine kindness made all the difference. Our driver, Noah, was a standout as well. We were so impressed by how much he knew about the area, especially considering he’s relatively new—his passion and knowledge added such a thoughtful layer to our experience. Kathleen, who led our horseback riding excursion, deserves a special shoutout—12/10! Not only was she hilarious and personable, but her stories and historical knowledge of the farm and the Beall family were fascinating. It’s clear she deeply cares about the animals and the entire riding program, and the way she spoke about the family made it clear the staff are genuinely valued. The spa was a dream. When our riding ran a bit long, the staff kindly adjusted my appointment times so I didn’t feel rushed. The massage and facial were just what I needed, and the spa design—natural woods, calming blues—was straight out of a design magazine. Pure tranquility. Bridget at the pool was so helpful in making sure we didn’t miss out on any must-do activities, which made planning so much easier. And Liam went above and beyond—effortlessly adjusting our plans last minute, organizing a perfect box lunch, and even slipping in a few of the famous lemon cookies (which were a hit!). Lastly, Winston and Cole guided us on a fly fishing adventure we’ll never forget. With a perfect mix of instruction and humor, they had us casting like pros in no time—and catching fish with huge smiles on our faces. Every person we encountered made our stay feel personalized and special. We left relaxed, full of stories, and already dreaming of our return. “Found this place after reading a post on the Blackberry Smoke page. We have rode by it a dozen plus times over the years and never saw it as it is tucked away in the corner parking area. We sat outside with our dog and was greeted by Jennifer, who took a liking to Frieda, even brought her a treat (slice of bacon). The food was excellent, Hawaiian Tacos and one of their Smash Burgers, and the super friendly service was even better. This will be a regular stop for us, looking forward to the next time!“
