“Paramount Recreation Club delivers on great service, excellent cocktails, and a stylish ambience that makes for a memorable night out. The staff is attentive, and the drinks are crafted with real care, making it an easy place to enjoy a few rounds and conversations.
That said, the crowd can sometimes be a mix, with a few know-it-all socialites that can dampen the otherwise fantastic vibe. It’s not enough to take away from the quality of the venue itself, but something to be mindful of.

“This is my ex step mother's place and I love everything about it except the men's bathroom and that isn't her fault. This place is very family oriented. We had grandparents and grandkids, aunts, uncles and all family members come and listen to requested music and sit and chat. Not to mention birthday parties and anniversaries held here. If you think about it, it is saving money on renting a place to do the same thing. Bertha accommodates tables and a spot to bring your food and birthday cake for free. All you have to do is buy your drinks and set-ups and have a good time.“

“We always enjoy going to Matador! It’s a fun, upbeat atmosphere and a great place to meet up with friends. The drinks are consistently good and the staff has always been friendly and attentive every time we’ve been in.

“This place is special. From the hand stuffed blue cheese olives. I don't even like blue cheese and those things are special. If Martini is not your thing, they have a fantastic bourbon selection and multiple tastings of several different high-end Bourbons. The ambiance is fantastic. Definitely feels like you're somewhere else. Highly recommend!“

“DELISH pizza I randomly found and so glad I did! I honestly couldn’t believe how empty it was when I visited. It made me wonder if people just don’t know this place exists because it definitely deserves more attention. It’s tucked away on the back side of a strip center, so it’s easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it.
I ordered one of the specialty pizzas and customized it with a couple of extra toppings, and it was absolutely fantastic. The crust was delicious, the ingredients tasted fresh, and everything was cooked perfectly. I couldn’t leave without trying the blackberry bread pudding for dessert, and I’m so glad I did. It was the perfect sweet ending to an already great meal.
If you’re in Amarillo and love pizza, don’t let the hidden location fool you. Fire Slice is absolutely worth seeking out, and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town!“
“When in Texas we crave authentic Texas BBQ; Shi Lee’s BBQ and Soul Food Amarillo Texas was exactly what we wanted. No frills roll up my sleeves moist ribs with a thin crisp bark. Oh so good my mouth waters as I type. Take out only was available from a run down shack with smokers in the back, we could smell the delightful aroma of smoked meat as we pulled up. Please see my pictures. Our meals came with two freshly made sides. Next time I will ask for my side salad to be placed in a separate to go plate to keep it cool and crisp. I loved their perfectly prepared collard greens and fried orca. This was a satisfying take out BBQ meal.“

The vibe was relaxed and casual, and it was easy to grab a drink and actually have a conversation without shouting. Service was friendly, though it can be a bit limited depending on how busy it is, and the selection is pretty straightforward. Overall, it’s a decent bar if you’re nearby and want something simple and laid-back rather than trendy or high-energy.“
“The short hair blonde woman bartender helped protect my friends and I. The second we were uncomfortable, she listened and helped to de-escalate the situation. I’m absolutely obsessed with this woman and so eternally grateful for her being there in this moment. This place is absolutely SAFE because she’s there!! ❤️“

“It is a little weird to be in a smoking bar. Honestly that's a plus though even though I don't smoke myself. The happy hour price on bottles is great. It's the unfortunate experience of having to discuss my order with the bartender that earns the three stars.(I actually bumped this up a star. But it wouldn't have hurt for the bartender to have have begun the conversation a bit more upbeat.)“
“Coconutz is an excellent example of a good hone town bar! This place is a locals favorite. The owner Barrett is a very friendly person and is often there. He is a local artist as well. Coconutz is a place that is inviting and makes everyone feel welcome. The jukebox is always playing. You can play a game of washers or sit out on the patio and enjoy the weather. This is a great place to relax, chill and connect with your friends.“

“Last night we decided to go to the Hoffbrau Steak and Grill House for dinner. If you are ever in Amarillo, don't go here expecting German type food. But please try it anyway for some awesome American-Texan food. I had the Smoked Sirloin with corn on the cob and Tonya had the Shrimp and Grits. Both meals were great and the service was very good also. Tonya also a Pretty in Pink drink (which was a little too tart for my taste, but she really liked it) All in all, I would rate this place a 10 out of 10!“

“Stopped in on a road trip and split a burger with cheese, bacon & mayo, substituted the side chips for fries. I love fries that have the skin on. 1/2 burger was perfect size without being stuffed. We did start with their queso and chips that were very good. We also ate the queso bowl which was good too. Great service and the live music was nice. He had a nice voice and not too loud that I could still hear the other people at our table.“
