50 Best Mexican Restaurants in Amarillo

“Disappointed in my favorite go to place when I am in Amarillo I did the drive through for the first time. Called in the order. Not good. Threw my burrito away. Thought my fault for not just going in. Yesterday in Amarillo Got the edible salad Lettuce was not even chilled. It was room temp. Ruined the whole salad. Bought a large container of the spicy ranch and a big bad of chips. When I got home and sat down to enjoy the spicy ranch and chips the Spicy Ranch was like water! So disappointed, please don’t start going downhill. I love y’all’s food. Keep your quality. It’s definitely having a few issues“

“BEST BURRITOS in town! My husband I love this place; it’s a weekend staple for us. True authentic Mexican food.“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of vibrant energy. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish was perfectly seasoned, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Service was quick without feeling rushed, and they were happy to offer recommendations. Whether you’re craving classic Mexican comfort food or something a little more adventurous, this place delivers on every level. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Mexican cuisine and a great dining experience! 🌮🌶️“

“We are always quick to complain but neglect giving credit when it is due. We love the Plaza and food, but nobody is perfect. We had an out-of-town guest who'd never eaten at the Plaza, so of course with our rave reviews we had to get takeout. The person who took our order was obviously in a hurry but did correctly repeat our order. We picked it up and on arriving home our guest did not get what was ordered. Disappointedly I called and "Tony" answered the phone. The result being Tony gave us a credit for what we should of had on our next order. We used it promptly a night later and all went well and was delicious. We want to tip our hat to Tony for handling this situation so well and maintaining our business while gaining a new customer. The Plaza is fortunate to have such a fine and credible employee!!“

“Was just passing through on our way back to Colorado and stopped because of reviews. By the traffic, this place is a local favorite.

Very, very good. Everything from the chips and salsas, guacamole, barbacoa and carne asada burritos, and the horchata was delicious. Was disappointed in ourselves for not getting another burrito to share.“

“We usually visit this restaurant on our way back from Denver. We’ve been a handful of times since it’s the first decent Mexican restaurant when you drive into Texas.

Employees are always helpful, friendly and food always comes out warm and tasty.“

“I missed my home in Los Angeles and all the delicious food! This place takes me back!! The pollo asado is lit!! The carne asada is delish and the flautas are sooo yummy! I’m addicted to their frijoles de olla! They’re like my abuela’s. The rice is also tasty and moist. Love the fresh salsa and toppings bar!! The only reason I don’t go more often is due to inflation. But I’m a patron for life!!!“

“we absolutely love coming here, faithfully every Thursday for amazing drinks and food!! love our $10 asada plates and $2.50 margaritas on Thursdays. awesome friendly staff, cool air conditioning, cozy atmosphere, they even a long bar area .. if your only here for the drinks 😏. 💪👌👏 if your not eating here your missing out!!!“

“We love this place! The burritos are amazing and remind us of the food we miss from many, many years serving stationed in CA. They have the best Mexican food and it was really difficult finding anything remotely relatable. Good Day Burritos has been a close match! You also won’t find a more friendlier place. The owner and his staff are truly the best!“

“Great evening. Will be going back. Food was amazing.“

“🌮 Ethan Boren, Braelei Richburg & I would like to thank Tacos Guadalajara for their fabulous catering service for Braelei's Graduation dinner. The food, preparations and pricing were perfect for such a large gathering. The tacos, rice, charro beans, salsa everything was a HUGE hit by all who attended lastnights celebration. A great family operated business with professional friendly service! Everyone needs to give them a try! Located at 818 Martin Rd in Amarillo! Just look for the big Tacos Guadalajara food truck 🛻“

“Today was a first. It’s an hour drive to Amarillo but we Dined in on some of the most BadA$$ Tacos and definitely will return ! Normally it’s a chain restaurant we go to when in town but I’ll be back and fill up on them tacos !!“

“Good Mexican seasoning, spicy but delicious. You can breathe the family atmosphere. Coffee with cinnamon is like being in the mountains. Fast and hygienic service. If you try the corn tortillas, you'll even order them to go (they come in a dozen).“

“Food and service is always amazing“

“Excellent service by Jori our waitress. Food was great and with great service even better.“

“I just discovered this joint about 2 weeks ago and I am addicted to the egg and chicharron breakfast burritos. I think it family ran or they just all run and work phenomenally well. The gorditas are very good too, my buddy had the menudo and he said it was superb!!“

“Their salsa and guacamole are smack, as my kids would put it. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with the green sauce plate. The rice and beans were delicious and I'm picky about my rice and beans. The enchiladas were also delicious. Over all 5 star place!!!“

“Man. This place gos hard. Service, atmosphere, quality... I got the breakfast burrito. It had a scratch made tortilla. Three eggs, crispy bacon and cheese. Great portion. I also got hash browns. They were made in house from scratch. Everything is homemade Im pretty sure. I got the red and green salsa. You want both! They are fresh, bright, and perfectly spicy. Two completely different profiles. The prices are amazing, especially in todays economy. I have nothing but praise for this place. I 10/10 recommend. 👌 👍“

“I was able to get corn tortillas instead of flour and no cheese on tacos.“

“Tengo 12 años viviendo aquí en amarillo y hacen los mejores montados que eh probado aquí. Muy buen servicio y muy deliciosa la comida. 100% recomendado 🔥“

“I haven’t been to La Campana in probably over a decade since I moved away but I’m so glad I came back today! I had the chilaquiles divorciados and medium guacamole and both were delicious! Everything came out fresh and hot. The salsa was also the perfect level of spice. The only small drawback is the time for service but I wasn’t in a rush so I didn’t mind waiting. They are busy, especially on a Sunday morning, so the servers are working to manage multiple tables. Will be back next time I’m in town!“

“Great food and service. We’ll be back!“

“I ordered the barbacoa burrito with mild hot sauce and lime, it’s very good and flavorful. I’m from out of town and have been here a year now. Good Mexican food is hard to come by here. They did a very good job!“

“Amazing Food and so very good! And I absolutely loved the drinks in the baggies! We got tacos and the Asada fries!!!“

“Even though they were completely packed, the wait time was short, and our server Moses was nothing short of incredible! Seriously, his service was so fantastic, you'd never know it was as insanely busy as it was. Of course the food was delicious, too!“

“Everytime the food is bomb and fresh keeps us coming back for more 😋😋“

“Every time I go in, they are friendly. The serving portions are perfect. I’ve never had any issues with them.“

“Súper recomendado, la comida excelente y el servicio muy bueno todos muy atentos con la orden y revisando la mesa ? 10/10“

“My parents came here for years and I never did before until last year and I've been going since every week on a Monday morning at 6 a m. My favorite dish is the chicken red sauce enchiladas.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs to deal with.“

“My husband and I decided to take advantage of the busiest day of the year for QDOBA and get their buy one get one burritos!! I came in not too long before close and they were jam packed busy!! I was in no rush so I waited patiently for my order while the employees worked through chaos to get everyone served!! My name was happily called and I made my way home for dinner. Getting home I realized we were one burrito short. No problem I’ll head back up there only to realize that it was fifteen minutes past close. Despite this fact It was no issue for the employees. they welcomed me in made me a burrito out of whatever they had left and also offered me some free entree coupons to boot!! I’ll come back any day of the week based on their customer service alone!! Awesome group of people with manager Dave leading the way!!!“
