We visited Rockport for the first time for my husbands birthday / our baby-moon and we were excited to have great food throughout our stay... but were a little disappointed with a few of our first choices. That was until we started asking locals where the best food in town was. Several people pointed us to Copano's and it did not disappoint. We ordered the brussel sprouts as an appetizer, which were a great portion size and so good. My husband got a glass of cabernet, and their wine prices were super reasonable. Then for main courses, I got their 7 oz Filet which was cooked perfectly - tender and juicy. And My husband got their scallops, which he said were melt-in-your-mouth perfection. We finished off with their seasonal dessert of a MASSIVE chocolate brownie topped with ice cream... and when I tell you it was the best brownie we've ever had I am not exaggerating. Our server, Arianna, was some of the best service we have had in a long time. She explained all the specials, was prompt and personable (despite being triple sat) and checked on us at all the right times. Some people are just GREAT at serving, and it makes the whole experience - Arianna is one of them.

I usually get the Shrimp Linguine and husband usually gets the fish special. Call for reservations recommended, but I see others being seated without. Service is good!“

“I wish we had discovered the Phoenix on the first night of our vacation in Port A, instead of the last night. I’m willing to bet that the Phoenix has the best menu and finest food within 100+ miles. We had a scrumptious shrimp-topped fried tomato appetizer. Husband enjoyed a gorgeous steak, and I had the triple tail fish with a coconut and pistachio sauce that was very possibly the best fish I’ve ever eaten. The menu has a slight Japanese flair which adds some amazing new flavors to the menu. The sake was incredible while others bragged on the Phoenix Martini.

The atmosphere indoors is not exactly romantic. Very utilitarian and due to its small size, it can get noisy, so don’t be heading there for a quiet candlelit expensive dinner date. The outside eating is lovely however!

Perhaps the only thing that was disappointing was dessert. Coconut cream pie was just a little above average, not sweet enough in our opinion. The lemon blueberry creme brûlée was delicious, but served in a 1/3 cup size metal tin that looked a little like what you might buy in a set of 6 at Costco. Don’t get me wrong…it was very good! Just didn’t compete with our gorgeously plated food earlier in the meal, nor did it look very appetizing sitting there all cold and naked on a white plate! It didn’t keep me from devouring it however, and wishing it was a little bigger!
Service was friendly and fast! We will be back many more times! We made a reservation and I’m glad we did. By the time we left at 7pm on a Thursday night, the restaurant was virtually full.“

“The Brass Turtle is a hidden diamond in Ingleside! Is it a lodge or an AirBnb? It appears to be available both ways - by their own website or the AirBnB site - any way you slice it, its an amazing value and a great find. You get a fully self sufficient room with its own bathroom, TV and mini fridge - and a shared area with a full kitchen and living area. The shared area includes big comfortable lodge style couches with a view of the bay and a full kitchen. I sat outside with my morning coffee watching the ships enter the bay. Staying here while working nearby, there is nowhere closer to work for Ingleside Bay. I met several guys who stayed here while fishing - it couldn't be more convenient or friendly for fishermen either. They have several types of rooms - good for couples, singles or families. I stayed in the Captain's Quarters - a big room with a king size bed, working area, and giant bathtub, this was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. Lani, the host, is easy to contact, she is not overbearing - you feel like you have the place to your self - she is available if you need anything at all and she will solve any issue that arises. The Brass Turtle is far and away better than any other place I have stayed in the Ingleside / Corpus Christi area.“

“Let me start out by saying I love this place The Island Cafe has turned into my favorite spot. The omelette’s are fluffy, the hash browns are crispy a the bacon is perfectly cooked.
Don’t even get me started on the pancakes….Let’s just say they are delicious.
