“This was our first time visiting McAlister’s Deli in Athens, Texas, and it definitely won’t be our last! From the moment we walked in, everything was clean, welcoming, and the service was quick and friendly.
I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich on a buttery croissant, and it was absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful chicken on a fresh, flaky croissant made for the perfect lunch. We also tried the Cuban sandwich, and it was just as impressive with great flavor and perfectly toasted bread.
The mac & cheese was rich, creamy, and pure comfort food. And, of course, the famous sweet tea absolutely hit the spot!
If you’re looking for a great lunch in Athens, McAlister’s Deli is definitely worth a visit. Fresh food, generous portions, friendly service, and a relaxing atmosphere—we’ll definitely be back to try even more of the menu!“
“I arrived around 6:45, and there was only one woman working at the time. She had black hair and really cool black eyeliner. She was incredibly professional and so kind. Even though they didn’t initially have what we were looking for, she went out of her way to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. She handled everything with such care and professionalism and was just a genuinely sweet person. I recently moved to Athens, and it was really nice meeting someone like her.“

“Food was good but it was definitely more fast food and less delicatessen. It had a mixture of a few sandwich selections and hot items like calzones, flatbreads, and salads. The sandwich tasted good and the sourdough bun was thin which I liked. The calzone was more like a pizza taco. It was tasty but definitely not a traditional calzone. We were expecting more deli options. But food came out quick and tasted pretty good.“

“Overall great. Food was 10/10 as usual, service was great. Firehouse Subs has never let me down.
This one doesn't have a ton of seating though so when they're busy you might not be able to eat in. Have backup plans“
