“My wife and I found Dawn Donuts one day when we were too busy to cook breakfast and ever since, we’ve been returning for those delicious apple fritters! They've really nailed it with their breakfast food. The standout for us has been their croissant sandwiches (bacon for the wife, sausage for myself). We've had it delivered a few times, and it always arrives perfectly - the croissant is buttery and flaky, and the sausage is just the right amount of savory.I've also heard rave reviews about their kolaches, and though we haven't tried them yet, they're definitely on our list. If they're anything like the other items we've had, I'm sure they'll be fantastic.But again, the real reason we keep ordering from Dawn Donuts is for the delicious donuts and those apple fritters. The food is excellent, especially the brisket kolaches and the breakfast tacos, the donuts are always fresh and delicious, and the service is outstanding! The people who work here are incredibly lovely, friendly, and so kind. The prices are very fair too!

“Billy is amazing!! He is open every day. Even during the hurricane. The muffins, doughnuts, egg sandwiches and breakfast tacos are made fresh everyday. We especially love the blueberry muffins and the bacon or sausage egg and cheese crescents. He opens very early so you have time to go by before work. He usually closes around 1:00 pm. He almost daily sells out of everything. Go by, try it and get a warm smile and greeting from Billy or his wife.“

“Aun is doing something right. This is the quintessential hometown donut shop that not only delivers delicious food, but a sense of community and camaraderie. The sweet smell of fresh donuts hits you instantly upon entering. Don’t get me wrong, this place is no frills; what you see is what you get, but what you get is damn good. “Wow! I go to the smoke shop next door and always after noon to evening when this place is closed. I decided to pop in Sunday before they closed and I was extremely happy I went in. “I LOVEEEEEEE this place! The owners are very nice. The taste is very consistent. My favs are the sausage cheese and jalapeño kolache, bacon egg & cheese (the jam on it is chefs kiss) and their glazed donuts!! The only thing I can say is I wish they were open all day LOL. Definitely my go to here in Dickinson. Also, make sure you don’t let the lady at the counter bypass the tip option if you’re paying with card. She does that alot and it’s very well deserved!!!!!!“

“I would say that this is a hidden gem but it's really a gem that MANY people know and visit...just off the beaten path a little. It happens to be on our bike route, so we often stop then as well as anytime wifey and I head out of town. Very friendly "staff" (family) and always clean. Food is great (coffee good too). The cinnamon rolls are good too.Reading some of the reviews the score should be higher here since some of the complaints are ridiculous.If you have a tree nut allergy do not come here. “I live in Ireland and I ordered doughnuts from Ashley’s through Uber Eats to be delivered to my dad (who lives in Clear Lake) for his 70th birthday! I mentioned in the order it was for a birthday and the very kind people at Ashley’s went above and beyond writing Happy Birthday messages on the package and even making a little handmade card! They threw in some extra doughnuts and even packaged one separately decorated with a birthday candle!! “I stop here pretty regularly on weekday morning for a few kolaches and a donut. I always use the drive through, and even though the line can get pretty long, it moves quickly. They're always very fast and courteous in their drive through window.“

“I'm a regular. Most Saturdays, I'm there just as they're about to close up shop. But, they're always good to me, making sure I get whatever I've got a taste for that day.

The folks there are pretty friendly and the place is always clean. They've got a drive-through, but I usually go inside. They're real patient when I can't make up my mind, which is more often than not.

So, if you're around give them a try. It's a decent spot, and probably even better if you manage to leave the house before 1230pm on a Saturday.“
