“I made a to-go order and tried the duck with fried rice, and my mother and daughter got the vegetable low mein with the vegetables on the side. It was amazing! It was so flavorful and fresh! There were 2 women at the front one on the register and another greeting dine in customers and the customer pick up line. They were so friendly and gave plenty of these crunchy fried wontons that paired excellently with our meals. We left a tip, the service was so good!“

We went on a weekday for dinner and there were plenty of seats but it soon started filling up.

What we ordered:
- grilled egg plant - I could eat two plates of these!
- grilled bun
- lamb skewers
- grilled whole corn

They were all cooked very well with plenty of seasoning, and as someone who grew up in Beijing and ate a lot of skewers, these are legit! The only complaint would be that there were some fascia in the lamb skewers, but it was still pretty good. Very attentive staffs as well. Their other dishes looked great as well. Will come back!

“The Pork Xiao Long Bao was great. The beef noodle soup was delicious, meat was a little fatty but part of how the broth gets a good flavor. The Dan Dan noodles were not as traditionally served (I'm told) but tasty. The pan-fried dumplings were not traditionally fried, they were on a layer of dough that was fried with the dumplings cooked into the dough- not as good as traditional pan-fried dumplings.
A good number of additional items on the menu for those more daring.
Service was highly attentive.
The ambience was open and nice.
I expect to be back to the Dough Zone.

I just didn't expect to see a young beautiful Hispanic woman behind the counter? Expected an old Asian woman lol. Anyhow I asked her if the food was good and she replied yes. Then if the pepper steak was good and she said very! I was really ?? Yes she said! ? I couldn't help but notice all the customers were Hispanic ? I lived in Taiwan 4 yrs and I know good pepper steak! This was incredible! Nothing else to say! I saved it for the next time come to the area! I already ate half of the food in this picture! The portions are huge!

Years ago, my family and I had a favorite go-to near Almeda Mall, and it was our Friday night tradition. They served this incredible dish called Singapore Chicken or Shrimp, and we couldn’t get enough of it. Unfortunately, after Hurricane Harvey, that location closed, and I’ve been searching for that same unforgettable flavor ever since.

After trying a few spots, I finally found the Westheimer location that had the dish! But the distance made it a rare treat. Then, to my surprise, I discovered this gem right off I-10, just minutes from my job. They call it Triple Spicy Chicken or Shrimp here, and let me tell you...it’s amazing! The spice level is just right (though I like to kick it up with extra hot oil and sriracha), and it’s served with broccoli and your choice of fried or white rice...I always go for white.

Their portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the service is top-notch. This location is small, with just a few tables for dining in, but the atmosphere is warm, and the staff treats every customer like family. I usually order to-go for office lunches or a quick dinner on my way home, and it never disappoints.

“First time here and the staff was super sweet and welcoming! Our server gave great recommendations and we loved everything we had! Best salt and pepper wings ever! We loved both the egg drop soup and the wonton soup, and it's a big portion even though we ordered the small size. In general their portions are huge for the price ! We will definitely be returning soon! The spicy beef fried rice isn't actually spicy, so they bring out a chili oil sauce on the side, and the beef and vegetables has a delicious sauce and a good variety of vegetables.“

We’ve tried the oyster pancake, sweet potatoes cake, salt and pepper fish fillet, beef with bitter melon, salty egg chicken tofu clay pot, sizzling egg tofu, marinated duck, and sautéed snow pea leaves. “I visited Hunan Inn for the first time last week. It was lunch time and very busy, but there were a couple of open tables so I was seated right away.

The lunch menu has all of the usual items. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken. Lunch comes with your choice of soup, an eggroll, and your choice of steamed or fried rice, or noodles. They serve the typical choice of beef, port, chicken, or vegetarian meals.

They apologized for the delay in getting my order out but I did not feel it was that long, especially considering the crowd.

The biggest surprise here were the prices. Most lunch items are $8 to $10, with one or two items priced at either $7 or $11. Iced tea is $2.00. My bill was $10.80 including tax!

The portions size is great for lunch. Most places give you a large platter, which I have learned to divide into two before I start eating so I can save some for lunch the next day. At Hunan Inn, the lunch plate is a bit larger than half of what you get most places, but not so large that you feel over-stuffed when you finish.

If you enjoy the typical American Chinese restaurant experience, you'll be very pleased here.“

Onion rings were a bit too much batter and not enough onion ring so we’d pass on those.
