“You know it’s good Chinese food when most customers are Chinese!!!
We went on a weekday for dinner and there were plenty of seats but it soon started filling up.
What we ordered:
- grilled egg plant - I could eat two plates of these!
- grilled bun
- lamb skewers
- grilled whole corn
They were all cooked very well with plenty of seasoning, and as someone who grew up in Beijing and ate a lot of skewers, these are legit! The only complaint would be that there were some fascia in the lamb skewers, but it was still pretty good. Very attentive staffs as well. Their other dishes looked great as well. Will come back!
Note, you might want to ask for it to be extra spicy if you’re used to having them“

“Food is as you would expect. Customer service was good. Cleanliness is lacking on a Wednesday afternoon. Tables need to be cleared and wiped down, floors are sticky. In their defense, they appear to be short staffed. The two here can't do everything. A little cleaning will go a long way. Don't let this place lose its shine.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at the best Chinese rice noodle house in Chinatown Houston and it was an exceptional experience. This noodle house offers an array of mouthwatering appetizers that set the stage for an unforgettable meal. The star of the show was undoubtedly the Chinese rice noodles. They were perfectly cooked, with a delightful chewy texture that left me craving more. The wide variety of noodle options allowed for a customized dining experience, catering to all tastes. We tried their signature items like the chicken soup rice noodle and the Mala rice noodle soup. The appetizers were a highlight, with an extensive selection that included sticky rice cake, marinated pig feet, and cucumber salad. The sticky rice cake was a delightful blend of sweet and savory, with a satisfyingly chewy consistency. The marinated pig feet were tender and flavorful, a true delicacy. The cucumber salad provided a refreshing contrast to the rich flavors of the other dishes, with a delightful balance of tanginess and crunch. The service at JiBeiChuan noodle house was impeccable, and the staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. Overall, this brand new Chinese rice noodle house is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine. The combination of delectable rice noodles and a tantalizing selection of appetizers ensures an unforgettable culinary journey. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. And since it’s a authentic Chinese franchising noodle house, I don’t have to fly back to China to enjoy it. Highly recommended and will definitely come back.“

“The Pork Xiao Long Bao was great. The beef noodle soup was delicious, meat was a little fatty but part of how the broth gets a good flavor. The Dan Dan noodles were not as traditionally served (I'm told) but tasty. The pan-fried dumplings were not traditionally fried, they were on a layer of dough that was fried with the dumplings cooked into the dough- not as good as traditional pan-fried dumplings.
A good number of additional items on the menu for those more daring.
Service was highly attentive.
The ambience was open and nice.
I expect to be back to the Dough Zone.
Parking: Parking lot and many restaurants and stores are part of the builidng.“

“I am very picky with American Chinese food, but my visit to PF Chang’s last week was rather enjoyable. The food was good (I could drink the sweet chili dipping sauce!) and the service was great, especially from my waitress, Chelsea! She was able to offer suggestions for my visit last week and for my next visit in the future.“

“The duck blood and vermicelli soup in this restaurant is the most authentic in Houston! The soup was delicious, the duck blood was tender and smooth, and the vermicelli had a very chewy texture. Our family of five ate every drop. The lamb chops are definitely the highlight. They are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The aroma is fragrant. The seasonings are just right. Every piece is very delicious. Taste of hometown??“

“The service and ambiance were what you’d expect from a traditional Chinese restaurant, but the food truly stood out. The duck was incredibly tender and flavorful, perfectly seasoned without being overly salty. The marinated delights combination was exceptional—each item was packed with rich, authentic flavors. If you’re a fan of Teochew cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!“

“A Culinary Gem in Houston – Desi Junction Indian Cuisine
If you’re on the hunt for authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine in Houston, look no further than Desi Junction Indian Cuisine. This place truly stands out for its exceptional food, stellar service, and attention to quality.
From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant ambiance that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu offers an impressive variety of dishes, each prepared with care and bursting with the rich, authentic flavors that define Indian cuisine.
One of the highlights of my visit was the pani puri and dosa, both served just like the iconic street food in India. The pani puri was crisp and tangy, with perfectly spiced water and fillings that transported me straight to the bustling streets of Mumbai. The dosa was golden, crispy, and paired with chutneys and sambar that tasted like home. These dishes alone make Desi Junction a must-visit for anyone craving the true essence of Indian street food.
What truly impressed me was the attention to detail—every dish felt like a masterpiece, made with fresh ingredients and an evident passion for cooking. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ready to guide you through the menu and ensure your meal was perfect from start to finish.
Desi Junction isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Indian culture and cuisine. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a one-of-a-kind dining experience in Houston. It’s a place I’ll return to again and again!“

“The General Tso, Lo Mein and Kung Pao and Mongolian dishes are the best. I usually get chicken or beef. They give you a lot of meat... It's not all vegetables and sauce like some Chinese restaurants.
Both egg rolls and wonton soup are delicious.
I like the little fried chips they bring before your food comes. They pair well with the duck sauce.
Crab puffs are mostly cream cheese, but not bad.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of their fried rice. Next time I'll ask for white rice.
The service is outstanding. They bring the food out right away and they're so friendly. Also, you can't beat the price! Best value in town. We live in Chinatown but we drive all the way to Happy Lamp for Chinese food.“

“Went here with my cousin today, the food was absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous! You start with a chicken dish (we got medium spice/size) and it was more than enough for two people to share. The flavor was phenomenal. I particularly liked the onions. After you finish your first dish, they come by and fill your bowl with chicken broth, turning it into a delicious hot pot. All sides you can add on are generous as well. Overall, wonderful experience. We will be coming back for sure!“

“The food is good, but be prepared for a long wait during busy weekends.
I visited on Juneteenth Saturday (June 21) and arrived at 9:50 a.m. It took 15 minutes just to place my order, and another 25 minutes before my food was served. There were only two staff working—one managing the front and prepping delivery orders, and one serving the dining area.
The restaurant seems seriously understaffed during peak hours, and the service flow could use improvement. From what I observed, they tend to fully prepare and serve all items for one group before moving on to the next. A more efficient approach would be to prepare and serve items in smaller batches, rotating between groups in the order of arrival, rather than completing one group’s entire order before even starting the next.
Overall, I’d recommend the food, but only if you’re not in a rush and are visiting during off-peak hours.“
“Exceptional food taste and quality! The service also exceeded expectations. 100% recommend this restaurant.“

“I've been coming here for years and it still holds up as one of the best Bao places in Houston!
A personal favorite of mine is the Yummy Byrd, which I frequently crave from here- it has a lightly cooked outer coat that slightly crunches when you bite into it, giving way to a soft interior. The description doesn't tell you this, but it is incredibly yummy and one of the only baos here whose exterior is lightly crunchy like this! Most of the rest have the typical soft bao breading (which is still very yummy and very good).
My second favorite is the Pork Belly, which tastes like your standard pork belly found in many dishes, with the added bonus of having lightly crunchy cucumbers with it and a yummy hoisin sauce.
Other notable flavors for me are Chicken Masala, Beef Bulgogi, and Pork Katsu.
With that being said, you truthfully can't go wrong with any of the options as they're all very well-made. The meat on all the different choices is always cooked excellently, from the pork to the chicken to the curry to the fish; I've yet to try the duck though! The fries are very good here, and are extremely crunchy and satisfying to bite into. Don't be fooled by my photo, we had eaten well over half at that point.
For 6 baos and fries, we spent almost $50, so do be aware that the price does stack up rather fast here. Luckily, the baos are very filling and most people can fully eat between 2-4 before feeling full.
Overall, a very good place and I highly recommend trying at least once!“

“This cafe has a very cozy atmosphere, nice and room temperature with chill music. The decor is minimal but feels like home. The staff are very kind and friendly with big warm smiles. My sister and I felt at home for it to be our first time. I ordered the manager's special Kung Pow Chicken Won Ton Soup. I felt that the Kung Pow was just a little bit salty but still enjoyable. The soup was very good. My sister ordered Moo Goo Chicken Hot & Sour Soup and Crab Puffs. She says everything was very tasty. We recommend trying out this spot!“

“Great food. Flavors are spot on. I ordered it super spicy and it was perfect for me (barely broke a sweat). The picture is the peppered beef and I would order it again and again. Great portion! You certainly get your moneys worth!

“First time here and the staff was super sweet and welcoming! Our server gave great recommendations and we loved everything we had! Best salt and pepper wings ever! We loved both the egg drop soup and the wonton soup, and it's a big portion even though we ordered the small size. In general their portions are huge for the price ! We will definitely be returning soon! The spicy beef fried rice isn't actually spicy, so they bring out a chili oil sauce on the side, and the beef and vegetables has a delicious sauce and a good variety of vegetables.“

“We had a 45 min break on a busy afternoon, way after the lunch rush and we'll before the dinner crowd. It was either Hunan Inn or subway next door. We decided to try Hunan Inn. We were the only customers and were quickly seated. I was surprised that we were offered the lunch menu at 3:45pm but I didn't complain. We got an order of lemon chicken with steamed rice, soup, and a hot spring roll and one order of Beef with spicy garlic sauce, fried rice, soup and the spring roll out plates were in the $8 or $9 range. Not bad! We were able to enjoy ourselves, no rush, food came out quick, soup & egg rolls first followed by the main. We had refills for our drinks and our server boxed out leftovers. We made it in and out in less than 45 mins & were early to our next meeting. I'd go back again when I'm in the area. They did several take away orders while we were there.“

“Food was good for a quick bite. The XLB was one of my favorites. Surprisingly the chicken and vegetable wontons in chili oil were surprisingly the best. The Thai tea was delicious. I’d skip the noodles I got in the photos. They were mid. The cucumbers were nicely presented and delicious. The staff were friendly and kept checking on us. “Orient cafe is usually consistent, good egg rolls, the best wonton soup, and most of the menu is really good. My favorites are chicken with string beans, chicken or shrimp fried rice, and orange chicken.
Although today we had, and I tried the orange beef, orange chicken (don’t mind the quantity, starting eating before I could take the pic😅) and wonton soup.“
