“It was my first time coming into this shop. The smell of sweetness hit me when I walked in, and I was greeted. I wanted to try the Granny Apple pie, but they were sold out, and I decided on Key Lime. Best decision ever, as it was very tasty, and I was damn near licking the container. LOL. “We used That's The Cake for our wedding and could not be happier with how it all turned out. They are a grandmother/grandson duo who own their adorable little shop in Arlington. I had let the initial quote expire because wedding planning is not my strong suit and Nancy was so great helping me get it sorted out.We set up a tasting which is held in the shop with Monte. He walked us through each flavor and helped guide us though the process. It was so much fun, like treat tasting with an old friend. He works really hard making cakes all day and we appreciated him taking his time personally to do a tasting. Some shops just send you samples and call it a day. We chatted about horror movies and sweet treats and it was great. We ended up choosing Monte's favorite which was an almond cake with a raspberry filling and it was a huge hit. Some of my guests who I would consider desert connoisseur's were particularly impressed. Side note: I really liked the Mexican Chocolate and Caramel cake as well but the final choice was left up to my groom.When discussing the look of the cake we let Monte know we were having a moody wedding and the florist would provide flowers. He suggested some black marbling along the bottom to glam it up and it turned out perfect. “Let me start with, I have passed the restaurant for years and never knew it was there. This place serves food that is freshly cooked and nothing frozen. The pizza was good for the price and the wings cooked fresh like I said and not frozen. “They have amazing cakes! I just ordered another one for a bday. I called. Olga helped me, and it only took 5 minutes. The cakes have a cake bottom (chocolate or vanilla) and two froyo flavors (like vanilla and cookies n cream). For the middle, they put a syrup and topping inside (I chose Oreos and fudge sauce). We have also had some in the past that were mostly dairy free and gluten free. Our family has always enjoyed the cakes and the different combos we get to create. Thanks, Menchie's!“

“This place is amazing. I was recommended by some locals and I was impressed. Its authentic and boy do the people love this place. We ordered in person and had to wait about 20-25 mins for our food, so next time I will be ordering online. We were not upset at all though bc they have tons of online orders coming in and were working diligently to get these out to us. While we were waiting, a man who appeared to be the owner came out and started offering free food samples to the customers waiting for their food. A man said he was fasting and he even offered to box up a sample for him to eat later. Amazing food, amazing service. Will definitely be back.
