“Stopped in for lunch to support local business. They were slow so I’m glad I stopped. Got the anchor burger - steak sandwich style. Burger was on point and the Cajun fries were amazing. Got a side of their herb mayo and used that on my fries too.“

“The crab dip alone is worth the drive from Houston. The last two times I've been there the shrimp taco I always get tasted different. Not sure if it's a different recipe or cook? I enjoyed the ones I use to get. So next time I go, I'll try the hamburgers. I heard they are great. The friendly staff and patrons ROCK! Super chill place to relax and get your belly full.“

“We almost had the restaurant to ourselves! The whole town was expecting a hurricane & flooding. Neither happened. We went to Shearn's for our usual Tuesday night 'Steak & Lobster' and it was so special! We wanted to see clouds rolling in, but the big surprise was the gorgeous sunset! So many colors, it was just beautiful! Only thing better was the food! You should go!“

“Dee is the best hostess, first and foremost! She is definitely the hostess with the mostest! She is a hands on owner that makes you feel welcome from the start! The potstickers were amazing! The crispy chicken tacos were cooked to perfection! The batter was perfect! The deserts were amazing! The bread pudding was the best I’ve ever had! The banana pudding was fantastic! Tracy, the sweet lady, that waited on us was amazing at her job! We had a fabulous experience. I recommend anyone ,from around here or just traveling through, to not pass up on the opportunity to visit the Bayou Bistro!!!’“

“Not sure why this place only has 3 stars. I thought the food was delicious. I was expecting the moody gardens to have overpriced greasy pizza and burger options. But I was pleasantly surprised this buffet was well thought out and had a lot of options for adults and kids. The meatloaf was actually amazing and I actually usually hate meatloaf. It’s gravy based and not tomato based so that’s probably why. I was skeptical about buffet Mac and cheese but it was legit. The desserts were good too and the salad bar was very fresh. I have zero complaints.
Our server this afternoon was such a sweet young man. I wish I could remember his name. He worked this afternoon (Black Friday) during lunch and was so attentive to us and even got my baby some juice when we ran out of juice boxes. He was so friendly and helpful. His parents should be so proud of him. 🙂 if I ever come back to Galveston for future trips, I’m definitely gonna be coming back here. Again, I don’t know what these reviewers are expecting. You’re at a garden/amusement park; not a 5 star steakhouse with valet. I have been to many zoos, botanical gardens, and aquariums and the restaurant options at most of them don’t even compare to this place. Great experience and I would love to visit again.“

“This food is outstanding! I had the fried shrimp po-boy that was one of the best I’ve ever had. The bread roll was awesome as well as the shrimp. We also got the crab balls that were very good as well. Don’t let the truck appearance fool you, good food.“
