“Good friendly service at this location. The food is delicious and the prices are low, very affordable. alcoholic drinks are also available. The inside is small and basic, not much to look at or much of an atmosphere, but it makes for a quiet meal.“

“I love the place, the food is tasty and they have many options. The atmosphere is good and quiet, and customer service is good. I see myself ordering from here for a long time. I paid less than $20 to dine in and also less than $20 for a to-go plate. Which is reasonable by me“

“Amazing food and even better service!“
“Simply put: perfect.
Fantastic concept, lovely place, superb attention on every detail. I really hope they are Michelin awarded by the end of this year!
Be aware of:
- You need to reserve, this is an experience, not a restaurant.
- No kids.
- Tell them about allergies beforehand.
- No rush place
- Be open to any food experience. Ingredients are carefully selected to give you a proper experience.
- Although they allow BYOB, there is no need. They pair the evening with the proper sake and bubbles.
Wonderful job, Neo team!“

“great food. today the service was so slow. the lady was working on 4 orders at the same time. three were for people there and one was a to-go order. I can see doing 2 at a time but 4 was too slow. I don't have that kind of time to wait.“

“OMG YASS ? DELICIOUS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This place is 5 stars all around!
so good and fresh! We had the lunch special. The amount was generous and the food was fresh! The nigir was delicious and beautifully made. The miso soup was yum. The chefs roll was top tier. Alll included in our lunch special. We even got yummy dessert and it was so cute! This was such a yummy and nice family lunch. My husbands sidecar was A++ as well! Very creative take and refreshing.
the staff here are so kind! They are very welcoming and accommodating. As a a young family, it can be overwhelming to go out to eat with a baby but at Aburi they make you feel welcomed and think of everything!
Atmosphere: The restaurant is gorgeous. It is very aesthetic and modern. Very welcoming!
Over all, 5/5 ⭐️ and we will be back for our next sushi fix or just for a nice quality cocktail!??“

“I had dinner there tonight after several friends recommended it to me. My friends know I love sushi, and I took my son there to try it out. The presentation of the food was beautiful, our orders came out fast, considering what they were, and this was honestly some of the best sushi I have eaten. Our waiter was attentive, and very friendly. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. As I was with my young son, I did not try the bar. I look forward to coming back. I’m trying different aspects of this place, and I was really impressed tonight. Try the Lobster Bomb Roll!“

“Katami is Japanese for Keepsake. What a sentimental word, and what an emotion invoking meal that was. I believe this was the best sushi I’ve had to date in my life.
The flavors were so subtle but perfectly complemented their counterparts. I was blown away by the Hokkaido Buri Yellowtail and loved the Hamachi Yuzu. Not only was the food phenomenal, the service was tip top and the restaurant elegantly designed. Lighting was perfect. Sound was balanced. You’re in for a special treat when you go to Katami.“

“Service was excellent! Restaurant and bathrooms are super clean. Very nice atmosphere and played some greattttt music for everyone including my daughters’ obsession Kpop! The sushi was fresh. Dumplings amazing! I will definitely be back. Very family friendly and quiet enough for casual lunch or meet ups. I love it here!“

“Was there for a weekday lunch with my aunt. We enjoyed every dish we tried. The tempura shrimp was battered and fried perfectly. The Philadelphia sushi roll was delicious. The beef broccoli lunch special was seasoned well, with good flavor. The steamed dumplings were superb. The service was quick and attentive. They also offer takeout. I will definitely return to try more dishes.“

“Whew. Feels like I haven't written a new review in forever since Yelp ate my Aiko one. So sorry about that!
Anyway, Miyagi is a place that I liked better than most, yet can't help but feel lukewarm about due to the bigger context. It is by far the best sushi in Houston in terms of value for money (Aiko still edges in raw taste), but only because the state of sushi in Houston is truly horrendous. It confidently clears a bar that was pretty low to clear.
Other reviewers have mentioned all the inconveniences you have to go through to get a coveted lunch at Sushi Miyagi already - which I can attest to. I won't repeat the list here, but it reminds me of the time I waited in line for some Din Tai Fung in Seattle: The whole thing was built up as if you were going to experience something very special, yet it just ended up being a decent neighborhood place. My followers will know that my standard for sushi is Kyoten Next Door in Chicago in terms of taste and Koto in Fort Wayne in terms of value. Miyagi is almost as revered as the former while almost as packed as the latter, but doesn't come nearly close on either front.
That being said, if you were to try to average Kyoten and Koto, you'd probably get something close to Miyagi. The fish is cut thick and plenty fresh, the price is understandable but otherwise not too cheap nor expensive. I particularly liked the sake (mackerel). It is a very fresh and slightly fatty sake that doesn't have any of the usual sour taste nor tough texture. My friend liked the squid and how clean, not-slimy it is as well.
The hiyayakko is exactly what it is and what it is is a mistake (I don't know what kind of kami urged me to order cold tofu at the time).
The Hambagu (sometimes called "Salisbury steak" - a word I have never heard outside the circle of nerds and insufferable food snobs), my main dish, is best summed up as a "xíu mại on rice but fast food". For context, xíu mại is a large Vietnamese meatball, not too different from the kind you have with spaghetti, can be found in bánh mì, and is often eaten with tomato sauce. Replace the tomato sauce with ketchup and Kewpie mayo and there you have it.
The kinuta maki was exciting and peculiar (I had the yellowtail filling), but not overall too impressive. I don't think the vinegary dressing on the daikon nor its innately bland flavor mix very well with the fish, and can understand why this dish is not very popular elsewhere in the States.
TL;DR A good way to end my sushi journey in Houston "with a bang", but I don't think I'll seek out any more sushi in this city again.
P.S. The next review won't be about sushi I promise!“

“Kamilla (sp) made my experience awesome! This was my first time here & she explained the menu well, let me take my time deciding without neglecting the other customers in the store. She added just the right amount of everything to my bowl! The food was great and I’m sure I’ll be back.“

“Inexpensive yet very fresh and generous cuts of sashimi - absolutely unbeatable for value and quality. Lunch menu is by far the best value @ $8.99/entree! Ownership has changed but everything else remains the same. Always crowded... Allow extra time to queue in line!“

“My boyfriend found this gem of a restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Immediately upon arrival, the entire staff welcomes you with a smile and a traditional Japanese greeting. Everyone is highly skilled in their trade, from the waitress, to the mixologist, to the chef, and to the chef assistants. Every single staff member is absolutely amazing. Their attention to detail is immaculate. Their chef, Yoshi made us feel right at home, with a warm smile, and he shared with us so much of his knowledge from Japan. Not only did I savor and enjoy every last bite but I also learned so much! Yoshi’s Japanese cuisine is literal art, and he mesmerized us by his unique blend of flavors. Every bite was unique and delicious. The chef assistants handled every course with precision and care, and worked amazingly fast. It was as if we were also getting a cooking show at dinner. Truly an art form. Our waitress also left us speechless by how knowledgeable she is and her skills to memorize every single course that was handed to us was just amazing. Their mixologist made a special mocktail customized just for me as I didn’t know exactly what I wanted. Our lovely waitress asked me what I was looking for in a drink, so I told her something savory, citrusy, and not overly sweet. With those few words, the mixologist created a special blend of flavors to create the perfect mockail. Honestly, the best mocktail I’ve ever had! If I could give them 100 stars I would. We will definitely be coming back. I want to thank every single one of them for making our first omakase dinner so special! P.s. Their bathroom is amazing! Definitely instagramable, perfect for selfies!“

“Kira is a certified hit! I did the 7 course chef's tasting and every course was delicious. The lobster hand roll was hands down my favorite, the shitake mushroom hand roll was my least favorite (it wasn't bad , it just wasn't as good as the other rolls). The dessert was also really delicious. I definitely reccomend checking Kira out if you like high end sushi.“

“Went here for lunch. The restaurant was stuffy/warm and service was slow and not up to the level of the food. I felt bad bc the only 1 waitress seemed busy and flustered with too many tables. I had the sashimi lunch bento box which was a lot of variety. Delicious pickled veggies but as others have noted the eggplant was very oily. However everything was flavorful. I might go back to try another lunch special.“

“I’m here at Top Sushi at happy hour and the sushi is so fresh. The best sushi I’ve ever had. The sushi cuts are so thick and delicious. Anthony was my bartender. The drinks are so good. Definitely come see Anthony and try a lychee martini. He makes the best. Happy hour from 4-7 Monday-Saturday. Sunday all day, reverse happy hour after 9-close.
Parking: Parking is definitely not a problem. It’s in a large strip center.“

“Love the environment and food here! The manager Joy came by to make sure everything is okay and it was! We all ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was lovely. Deep yet mild flavor, not too salty. Queen Spider roll which had filet mignon and soft shell crab. If you order a kids meal it's HUGE so be warned, you could possibly split this with your child. And we got a random free dessert which was a layered strawberry crepe cake which was AMAZING! Texture was soft and melted in my mouth. The sweetness was JUST RIGHT! Might be my new favorite dessert! 2nd time here and will definitely come back!“

“Have enjoyed this small, but cozy restaurant a few times in a short span.
Sushi is high quality and presented very attractively, similar to other middle-high end sushi in the area.
I believe the other dishes are where this shines. Some of the best takoyaki I've had, a great home made curry sauce, and a beef bowl that will have you craving more.“

“If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Uchiko Houston is it! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server, Eric, was nothing short of amazing—his menu recommendations and attention to detail made our night even more special. He introduced us to the new spiced cake dessert, and it was absolutely phenomenal (we ate it too quickly to snap a photo!). We can't wait to come back. Uchiko never disappoints!“

“Nice addition to the options in Houston. Went on a weekday during opening hours as a solo diner, no wait and prompt service. Similarly to Kura, it’s a conveyor belt system but it’s to order so definitely much fresher. Nice selection of nigiri, some options for some more filling options and some appetizers.
Quality of the sushi was great but as others have mentioned, it is pricey (especially since the plates are usually single pieces). Spent $40 for around 7 plates and tip. Overall nice place to visit at least once to try it out, but there are plenty of other options for more bang for your buck.“
