“First time here and we were very pleased with the flavors. Got a few combo plates, including the special taco plate and they are sizeable with all the fixens you need - amazing salsa, chopped lettuce, cilantro, grilled onions, sliced radishes and lime wedges. The rice and beans were very good as well. We will be back.“

“Pretty good tex mex. The salsa is fairly spicy and the queso was good. I tried the baja salad with Chipotle shrimp and it did not have much flavor. My skinny marg tasted like raw tequila, and the waitress seemed annoyed every time she came to our four top.“

“We had a birthday party here and they did a fabulous job! Cruz was our waiter and he was awesome! The food was great and I look forward to eating here often!
Parking: Most of our party was able to park close to the restaurant. A few people needed to be very close to the restaurant and that wasn't a problem.
Thank you, Cristina's!“

“Unbeatable Mexican Cuisine and the BEST Breakfast Burritos in Town!
If you haven’t been to Alvarado Mexican Restaurant yet, you’re missing out on something truly special. Whether you walk in or order out from drive-thru, you’re welcomed with warm smiles and a friendly, family-like atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Their menu is incredibly abundant, offering a variety of delicious Mexican dishes that will satisfy any craving.
But let me tell you, the breakfast burritos here are on another level! I’ve tried breakfast burritos all over North Richland Hills, and none even come close to what Alvarado offers. Perfectly seasoned, generously stuffed with fresh ingredients, and wrapped in soft, warm tortillas — they’re a morning game changer. Whether you’re in the mood for something classic like bacon and egg, sausage or a loaded chorizo with all the fixings, every bite is pure heaven.
Beyond the amazing food, the service is consistently top-notch. The staff is attentive, kind, and always ready to go the extra mile to make sure your experience is perfect. Alvarado has become my go-to spot for food, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!
Do yourself a favor and stop by. You won’t regret it!“

“Food has improved over the last year... upped rating to 4 stars... salsa bar was fresh and stocked. Only thing keeping service and atmosphere at 3 stars - the back was missing employees for a few minutes... no idea where they were. Dining room had several tables needed cleaning and floor needed sweeping.“

“Kudos to the young man who was working the front counter on my visit (March 1) around lunch time between 12 noon and 1. Normally you get rude or disrespectful looks front then workers at a fast food restaurant but I experienced the opposite. The rude and disgusting looks were from the customers I observed. The salsa bar was running low and had no forks. Instead of giving the young man a chance, they just whines about it and gave rude remarks. This young man was taking orders and restocking the salsa bar without having a dirty look. He even excused himself to go refill the toilet paper in the woman’s restroom from an inpatient customer who couldn’t wait for him to finish an order with another customer. He was even helping out in the drive thru. It’s a shame that most fast food employees get a bad rap and pay is horrible. This young man shouldn’t be included in such class as other fast food workers.“

“I do recommend JJ's the food is tasty but....I walked in on a friday after work around 3:30..I always sit at the bar I was shocked to see the whole bar area was dirty and the floor was sticky! I'm a regular at this location on Tarrant Parkway and have always enjoyed the food and the margaritas....I almost turned around and walked out so disappointed! oh, one other thing, when I order food I always have to ask for silverware! I myself have worked in the food industry years ago, I do know the dirty dishes should be picked up when customers are done eating, this helps to keep the area clean even if you are busy which in this case the bar wouldn't be full of dirty dishes and I'm not exaggerating...it was the whole bar area!“
