“This place is your classic hole in the wall. Located north of Brownsville in Alito, Texas on the side of the highway. It has been in the owners family for about 100 years. However, it started as a post office a bus stop and a general store. Now it is a chill spot to get good food with friends and have a variety of cold craft beers. Definitely worth checking out whether you’re a local or passing through. It is one several awards for their culinary offerings as well. It’s not your typical burger. For this visit, I had the turkey burger. As you can see in my picture. Along with onion rings and a full set up. Very tasty. Definitely come in and check out the flying peg the next time you’re in the area.“

“Third time here and decided to leave a review. I tried the jalepeno burger and it was super good. Asked for toasted buns and extra toppings. I got what I asked for and expectations were met. The dining area was really clean and the workers were super friendly. Lastly I got a custard and it was amazing as usual. Would definitely recommendation to family and friends. Great job!“

“Came here because burgers came highly recommended!! I got the cheeseburger with ham. Added avocado for 75cents extra. Chili cheese fries. The cheeseburger was definitely a 10. Usually adding avocado to a hamburger comes with a ridiculous up charge, not here. The burger did not slide all over the place like most burgers that have avocado. Chili cheese fries were ok. I wish it had a bit more chili. Prices are very affordable. Paid about $13 for my whole meal, i added a mexican coke as well.“

“Loved the ambience very mexican traditional vibes. Each table had a unique loteria card to identify it by. The food was delicious. We ordered birria tacos, tacos de bistek and Chilatorta. Each plate was filled with flavor. The bistek was soft and seasoned well, giving it a homemade flavor. The chilatorta was by far the best dish. It has beans, chilaquiles of your choice of salsa, cheese, cream, red onions and for a extra charge a egg. The bread alone was just perfect, you can taste the butter that made it crispy on the outside but super moist and soft on the inside. Will highly recommend this dish.“

“The food and service was amazing! Really great. But! The drinks are what messed up me and my family's dinner. I asked for a Tropical freeze drink and received a shake to which I realized too late. My mother's drink was dr.pepper instead of coca col a and my grandpa's drink was VERY watered down. His drink tasted as though the machine ran out of coke and needed a replacement. Thankfully, the staff were understanding and got a replacement for it! I am not saying you shouldn't eat here...The food is REALLY DELICIOUS! Just make sure you got the right food/beverages before you begin to chow down!“

“I come here for the black bean burger and sweet potato fries. After having your meal delivered to your table, you can go up to the condiment bar and add your choice of mayo, ketchup or mustard, lettuce, tomato slices, fresh onion rings or jalapenos. A big meal to be sure! When you go to the register to place your order, there are more add-ons to choose from such as heated jalapenos, grilled onions, and sliced American cheese. You can also get regular fries and onion rings. Lots of choices! The service is fast and friendly, except when the owner is shorthanded. Then just be patient, he's only one guy after all.“

“Took forever to get in line in the drive thru I asked for a family pack n ask for a few sauce at the drive thru speaker then I asked when I got my meal n they said yes sir theyre in there but I got home near the zoo.... “We stayed in Brownsville for 4 days and we went to a few snack places and all were trash UNTIL we found this outstanding place!! Besides the wonderful lady attending us, the snacks were the best I have had in the valley! Everything was made fresh and tasted soooo good!! Totally recommend and we will be back! “Burgers are tasty and inexpensive. You can pretty much get 6 large burgers for about $20 (without cheese but with lettuce and tomatoe) I think its $1 extra each for cheese but still its a very good deal. Service was fast and burger was made with care.“
