Restaurantji's River Oaks guide: Where to find the best Mexican flavors.
“One bite, after carefully pouring the provided red salsa, in to the breakfast taco and I was sold. I was not very hungry going in, thinking a purchase of two would be enough, but I left hungry for more of their bacon and egg tacos. I refrained, telling myself that I need to savor this moment until my next visit. If and when you are in the area, check this place out and find yourself wanting more.“
“I loved this place! It's authentic Mexican food, down to the hot sauce and roasted jalapeño on the side. The service was friendly and welcoming. It's a great representation of River Oaks, TX. I will definitely be eating here again.“
“If u see the pink bug in the parking lot better believe that taco bell is on point with my orders and fast. So friendly. Never rude. Foods great. I work at quiktrip and we only get Baja blasts in the summer but taco got me with the BLAST of BAHA in my face love it don't regret it. Nacho bell grande and chicken quesadilla are my faves“
“Recently experienced their catering at the Lexus Club at the American Airlines Center before a Mavs game. By far the best food I’ve had at the club!Every dish was well thought out, flavorful and presented well. Chef Cardenas and his team were personally checking in with everyone and ensuring we had a great meal. The Napolitos Fritos (Cactus tacos), deconstructed Tres Leches, scallops and Sea Bass were my favorites! Can’t wait to visit the restaurant in Fort Worth soon!“
“It's a bare bones beer and taco bar. Nothing fancy right on 7th St. It's fun for what it is. The food is good. They serve Margaritas in a plastic cup from a machine I believe ( skipped that observation somehow). The margaritas are icy and frozen and strong. Delicious on a 108⁰ day but not cuisine material otherwise. A single can of beer is $6.50! I should have brought my cooler. They have a classic red velvet cake with caramel sauce that should come with an insulin shot but people- this is a cake worth trying and it's enough for 2!All in all I didn't get to really explore their menu like usual. I went there as a meet up for after party beers. This place is not budget- friendly but you'll enjoy the no fuss atmosphere. The patio is fun EXCEPT it's right on 7th and there will be kids racing cars and bikes, honking, crossing light blinking noises and pedestrians- some are sketchy. Police had to remove a poor soul that but the manager wasn't rude to him and that was a good thing. You gotta go here at least once to experience what going to an easy going, no Frills, gathering place can be. You can walk to other local places too that are right next door. Bring your friend that has bad manners, and always wears cargo shorts and an ugly shirt bc he will fit right in!Tell me what you think.Parking: This was a Wednesday night folks and parking was STUPID. Double parked unoccupied cars and parking lot uneven with broken cement and gravel. There is additional parking in the lots next door behind other bars. Unattended and free for all style. Later parking proved better, after 9 but again, this was a Wednesday. Weekends must be ridiculous.“
“Pollo Regio is conveniently located on the exterior of the Gran Plaza. We dined in on Thursday night with no wait and quick service. The cashier and floor food deliverer were very hospitable. The food was delicious and the kids left very little to no leftovers. The only thing I would critical about would be there were some tables dirty in the dine in area.We ordered the caldo de pollo, barbacoa taco, and the kids ate half a chicken. All very healthy portions and left us very FULL.We usually have it delivered but wanted the experience of getting all the toppings from the salsa bar.“
“I absolutely love the food and the service here. The chicken tortilla soup alone got me through last winter. And the tacos al pastor are what makes life worth living.I’ve ordered the same soup at other locations and this one just does something different. There’s a lovely young lady there, Alejandra I believe, who is so sweet (and patient with this indecisive old lady!).When I order delivery to my job, it always arrives hot and well-packed. Rarely any spills. My order is also reliably correct! A huge plus.I have had several of the menu items and they are all tasty. It’s not “fast food”, it’s good food, relatively fast, so don’t be impatient, it’s worth a little extra time for fresh, healthy food.Five stars, will definitely keep going back!Parking: Lots of parking and easy to access from both street entrances.“
“Service was really good and I personally enjoyed the Berria tacos and my daughter liked their "chicken" straps with the ranch. I didn't however liked the tres leches cake, it tasted like oatmeal to me, but that is my personal opinion, it didn't taste bad at all, just not like tres leches. Will be coming back to try other items from the menu.Dietary restrictions: Everything is veganKid-friendliness: They do have a kids menu with various options.“
“Best Waygu Burger I've ever had in my life. By far!The Manager is really cool, and Lindsey at the bar was the best! Great ambience, and good people. Can't wait to go back for more menu items. Ate my burger so fast didn't even take a picture, which I love to do.“
“Great little place - bring beer! Was highly recommended by neighbors, and it didn't disappoint. There are many little Mexican restaurants in this area, and it's been fun to try each of them - this one certainly ranks well. Probably better for lunch than dinner. BYOB Chips & salsa: 5 - great spice Spicy Verde Chicken Enchiladas: 5 - surprisingly spicy! Floutas / Taquitos: 4 Refried Beans: 5 Facility: 3 - sparse / simple / open Service: quick“
