“This is an amazing wine bar that we just happened to stumble across. The owners are personable, friendly, down to earth people. The staff are super friendly and food selection is very good. My wife and I prefer sweet (her)and semi-sweet (me) wine and there is a large selection. The atmosphere is so inviting and there is an added bonus of live music on the weekends. This was my first visit, and with the food they offered, I’d expect they’d have lots of people rushing there for dinner. I had the Pad Thai, which was excellent, but can we talk about their guacamole salad starter?!?! So it’s a bowl of guac with homemade chips and sides of pico (which for me was better than any pico I’d ever had before), a second pico-like concoction made with mango (I was blown away by how delicious it was), and a red salsa (which seemed like a blend of spicy and sweet….so good). Let me put it this way, it’s 11:00pm, I’m getting into bed and I’m still thinking of the food at Pam’s Patio Kitchen. The staff was super nice as well. This hidden little gem really left an impression on me! Can’t wait to go back!“

“Milano's has great food but sometimes the service is a bit slow and prices are on the high side. The atmosphere is great though. There are other small shops in this center that are quaint and cute that's worth a stop in to check out.“

“This was our first time to this eatery when we stopped in for lunch. It is located at the corner of Huebner Rd. and Churchill Estates Blvd. So easy to find and parking was not an issue. We were greeted immediately by a very talkative lady who steered us towards the specials of the day that were posted on the black board at the entrance for $11.99. You go through a buffet type order line with desserts, salads, paninis, pizzas and such. She proceeded to show us the large assortment of pizzas offered, which was a good variety of choices and all looked scrumptious. The salad offerings include tossed, veggie, and pasta variations. Since we had a Groupon, we could not purchase the specials so ordered off of the regular menu. We had the Chicken Piccata ($17), a house salad ($1.99 as add on) and came with bread. It was very much enjoyed with the chicken, spaghetti and sauce just right. The salad was a good side serving and the bread was deliciously warm, buttery and soooo good served with a balsamic and oil dip. We were so overwhelmed we actually forgot to order for the other person. But we shared the meal and made for a nice lite lunch. There were no customers when we arrived for an early lunch but it got steadily busier by the time we left but still plenty of table seating. The place was clean and the décor nice. They have a few tables outside. We will definitely need to return, when in the area, to try the pizza and other offerings.“

“Star of the menu is burrata, even though burrata is Puglian, not Napolitano. But it is delicious. We got the three ball sampler, as well as the Margherita pizza. Doesn’t sound like much, but it will make three meals for both of us. Ridiculously yummy.“

However, when I want to eat clean carbs SoFrio also offers amazing options in that department as well; the Buddha Bowl comes to mind. Wow! It's light, but not too light to be unfulfilled and not too heavy to leave you unfuctional or lethargic. I also had the pleasure to try the Brussels. I know many people aren't fans of these little cruciferous vegetables, but SoFrio's will change your mind. I couldn't believe they were Brussels. They were roasted superbly with sweet and smokey notes from the cashews that are also an integral ingredient to this tasty side. Yes, SoFrio is located within the Double Tree in downtown San Antonio. “Used this spot as a place to meet an old friend and had the opportunity to sit at the bar while I waited. The bartender makes an excellent margarita and she was very pleasant. Later, our entrees were quite good and well presented. I'm a lifelong Texan and have had- many- plates of the varieties of Mexican cuisine available throughout the state. I mention that to let the reader know the food here is a good example of traditional recipes instead of the more trendy offerings elsewhere. I would definitely go back.“

“Southtown 101 cool spot at the corner of Peridad and Presa. We stopped by for food and the drinks. There is plenty of parking around the building or off the street. We got there and this sweet car was outside! They did have a screen up and the NBA finals game on. They have plenty of inside and outside seating. But the food hit the spot! Really good flavor and a good amount of options. We ordered crispy chicken sandwich,wings, loaded fries,bacon wrapped jalapeños egg rolls, and friend pickles. Everything on the menu was a hit! Best part was the kitchen was open till 1am. Next up was the bar! They had good drink specials. We had $5 a you call liquor drinks. We had ranch waters and miller lites. Bill was not expensive at all. Staff was great! Bar was clean. After the game ended the party started with Karaoke. My wife and our friends sang and the DJ was cool. He had a good set up and we all had a good time. Karaoke on Thursday at Southtown 101 is where it’s at.“

“This is my wife's favorite pizza place. They have many options for people with food restrictions. They are also very careful to not cross contaminate food. The staff is always friendly. If I lived closer we would go more often, but when we do go, it is well worth the trip.“

“I made reservations because they were participating in the Culinaria event. We support those restaurants that participate in the Culinaria events. I appreciate their contributions to those in SA who don’t have enough food on their tables.
The Culinaria menu was enticing. For the first course, I chose the tuna tartare. It was delicious with fried capers and an artichoke aioli. I asked to have the chives eliminated and they were very accommodating. It was served with an artichoke aioli. Although very good, I would have liked a more pronounced artichoke flavor. I asked for a glass of prosecco and it was delicious!
My husband ordered the arancini which was served with lobster 🦞 risotto. He asked for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and liked it. He truly enjoyed it. The first course offered a soup but I didn’t ask what it was.
We both ordered the braised lamb shank on a bed of mashed potatoes, which I found a little bland; however, the slice of onion, served along side, was fabulous! They are braised and cooked down with balsamic and probably a red wine vinegar or a vinegar of some sort, perhaps a sherry or champagne vinegar or a milder vinegar.
We decided to share a wonderful salted caramel gelato at the table and bring the tiramisu home.
One of the best Culinaria meals and for only $35 per person!
