We'd pick up frozen pulled pork in Tennessee and bring it back to Texas as a treat. Nothing to compare until our first visit to The Purple Pig in June. Meets and exceeds our high standards to perfection. Don't miss this delightful experience. There are many things that makes the pulled pork extraordinary. Quality. Pecan smoked, not common to Texas. “Don't let the fact that this BBQ place is attached to an HEB fool you, it's a real sit-down restaurant. Fran greeted us with a smile and was helpful for our first time here and was helpful with the menu. The brisket and pulled pork were great and the two sauces ( sweet or spicey) compliment the meats well. It is the sides that really stand out here. The brisket beans are soft, creamy and full of flavor, the collard greens I could eat all day, and the cream corn is not what your mama served. Stop in and get some BBQ and don't forget the sides.“

The baby back ribs and smoked chicken were tender and flavorful. The brisket was okay. I would not order the banana pudding again, as its texture and taste were weird and not fresh.“

“It’s been a few weeks since I last had H-E-B Texas barbecue, and somehow I forgot just how ridiculously good that brisket is. One bite in and—boom—instant reminder. Juicy, tender, piled high on a toasted bun… I added coleslaw and went full Texas-size. Honestly, I almost needed a nap halfway through.
The brisket-and-pinto beans? Let’s just say they did not skimp on the brisket. Flavor for days, just the right amount of sauce, and I even topped it all off with a little extra spicy sauce because why not?
They had just opened at 11 a.m., and the service was excellent—shoutout to Desiree! Food came out hot, fast, and smelling like happiness.

“Always take your receipt , yesterday me and my hubby went there for lunch , we paid , I did a custom tip and didn’t take a receipt , well now today when checking my bank account my waitress took the liberty to tip herself an extra $15 but of course since I didn’t take the receipt I can’t dispute it , so if you’re gonna eat there always take your receipt but overall the food is good“

“We came in from out of town. Our family recommended us to go eat there! It was our first time eating Korean BBQ! We loved it!!!! Our children liked the shrimp tempura, shrimp friend rice and ramen. Make sure you order just the regular broth with the ramen 🍜 if it’s for your kids. If not it’s a bit spicy if you don’t. It’s very temp hot too. Ethan are server was pleasant and attentive. Great for birthdays too! I love how they sing to you and play the happy birthday song with glow sicks! Love of delicious sides come with the meal. We really enjoyed ourselves! “Walked in and sat at the bar. Bar tender attended me right away. I decided to try their 14 oz steak with Okra’, sweet potatoes, and bread! Man, that steak came out nice and hot! It tasted just the way I like it! No evidence was left on my plate of its existence! The sides and bread were the right touch to satisfy my evening hungry!

She always makes a point to ask how I am and takes a moment to make small talk while waiting for my food to arrive or the transaction to clear. She's a treasure!“

“Came here for the first time. Ordered the BBQ Mix Plate which consists of 2 scoops white rice, 1 scoop mac salad, bbq chicken, bbq beef, and bbq kalbi. The whole plate is legit and tastes exactly like back home in Hawaii. Not too many people can perfect the mac salad from home, but this place is delicious. It’s a perfect side dish to along the powerful flavor of the bbq meats. I also ordered the spam musubi. And just like home, the plate is expensive too lol, but it’s definitely worth it whenever I’m at any L&L because I don’t have one near my side of town. On this particular day, we had a Hawaii live music event. Kainoa & Friends also plays at various L&L locations for free, so please be sure to check him and his crew out. They’re amazing and worth going. I’ve posted the 2025 schedule for Kainoa.

The staff are super friendly and fast. The restaurant is definitely the smallest that I’ve been to in TX so far. Very limited tables to dine at inside and outside. Lots of parking and they have 1 unisex restroom.“

“I got the 3 meat and 2 side order that came out to a little over 20 dollars. I'm so used to the serving sizes other barbecue places give for that amount, that I was astonished at the amount of sausage and brisket I was given. Meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection and I can't recommend them enough.“

Travis, the manager, brought our food out to us and held the receipt with pencil lines through each item indicating that he personally made sure we got everything we paid for! On the way back in, Travis took a quick second to straighten out the curbside signs and unfurled the American flag that had wrapped itself around its pole! Food was hot, fresh, and delicious! There were about 10 cars in front of me in the drive thru line but within 14 minutes I was in and out of the parking lot.
My kids love the buckaroo chicken tender meal, very fair in size it almost seems to be the size of a regular combo #4. Only difference that I noticed is a kids drink versus a regular sized cup.
Bonus points for the brownie with nut dessert included 🙂 $6.30 for this meal“

“This morning I dined in at this location (unfortunately I have no pictures due to my tight schedule) I ordered 3 bean and cheese tacos with two bacons each and one sweet tea. Short and sweet interactions with the staff who were quick to make the food and tidied up the tables quickly. The food was fantastic! They stuffed my tacos and they were fresh and hot! I haven’t gone in many years for breakfast or lunch but this re kindled my desire to go back to this location for a larger meal! I know this might be a simple breakfast but it really started my day right!

“I was surprised by the $125 price tag for the buffet. My one slice of prime rib, a serving of mashed potatoes, a couple shrimp a taster (pinkysize) of duck which btw was wonderful , and a truly sublime shot was all very tasty. But I'm not sure it was worth $125. My husband had even less. It was NYE buffet, and I didnt ask price in advance so thats on me. Good food, great service, but its a one time visit for us.“
