“The Purple Pig was recommended to me, and I recommend this outstanding BBQ eatery enthusiastically. The best pulled pork BBQ I've eaten has been in Tennessee. Nothing to compare. We'd pick up frozen pulled pork in Tennessee and bring it back to Texas as a treat. Nothing to compare until our first visit to The Purple Pig in June. Meets and exceeds our high standards to perfection. Don't miss this delightful experience. There are many things that makes the pulled pork extraordinary. Quality. Pecan smoked, not common to Texas. Wonderful sides. Add to the excellence of the food is the service and the quaint, charming setting. Five stars.“

“Quick service style cafeteria/buffet for what I would consider darn good BBQ. Pork, chicken,and brisket. All perfectly smoked. BBQ sauce is on point. All the sides taste like they're made inhouse. Simple environment, show up however you want, plenty of space and seating spread apart. Prices are good too for the quality. They have good options for different plates. Desserts are probably on the same level but I didn't try them. They looked good tho. Try it if you're in the area and you're not from the area. 👍“

“I came in about 30-45 mins before closing so I was expecting to have some food not available but they had everything I wanted available and the staff were all very kind, service was quick as well. This is the only location I would recommend as others aren’t up to par as this one has been.“

The lady who took my order and gave me my food was so nice, I wish I had gotten her name. She hoped I had a blessed day, and she was so sunny and cheerful when she said it, I knew she meant it.

“Came here for the first time. Ordered the BBQ Mix Plate which consists of 2 scoops white rice, 1 scoop mac salad, bbq chicken, bbq beef, and bbq kalbi. The whole plate is legit and tastes exactly like back home in Hawaii. Not too many people can perfect the mac salad from home, but this place is delicious. It’s a perfect side dish to along the powerful flavor of the bbq meats. I also ordered the spam musubi. And just like home, the plate is expensive too lol, but it’s definitely worth it whenever I’m at any L&L because I don’t have one near my side of town. On this particular day, we had a Hawaii live music event. Kainoa & Friends also plays at various L&L locations for free, so please be sure to check him and his crew out. They’re amazing and worth going. I’ve posted the 2025 schedule for Kainoa.

The staff are super friendly and fast. The restaurant is definitely the smallest that I’ve been to in TX so far. Very limited tables to dine at inside and outside. Lots of parking and they have 1 unisex restroom.“

“Very impressed with this Bill Miller BBQ location! Place was slammed but everyone was performing well and diligently! Chloe at the register was composed and collected! Travis, the manager, brought our food out to us and held the receipt with pencil lines through each item indicating that he personally made sure we got everything we paid for! “This morning I dined in at this location (unfortunately I have no pictures due to my tight schedule) I ordered 3 bean and cheese tacos with two bacons each and one sweet tea. Short and sweet interactions with the staff who were quick to make the food and tidied up the tables quickly. The food was fantastic! They stuffed my tacos and they were fresh and hot! I haven’t gone in many years for breakfast or lunch but this re kindled my desire to go back to this location for a larger meal! I know this might be a simple breakfast but it really started my day right!

“Definitely my favorite dining spot on the JW property. A great mix of style, service, food and local eating. If you had one place to try, this would be it. I had the double advantage of being there on a business meal and that is highly recommended.

It's San Antonio. Start with a classic margarita on the rocks. Their version is perfect. Also had a southwest salad with it which I highly recommend as I totally enjoyed the cilantro lime vinaigrette. With the fixed menu options I went with the seared scallops. While small, they were very well cooked. That's tough to do and they pulled it off.

Finished off with the oreo cheesecake. I'm not a cheesecake fan, but if you are you should try it. It was the only option on the fixed menu, but I can't pass it up on a biz trip.“
