“The seafood here is so fresh and absolutely delicious! If you order fried food be sure to order it “seasoned.” My recommendation: seafood gumbo and the Mate Plate seasoned. You choose two proteins. I like the fried catfish filets and fried shrimp with hush puppies. If you prefer, they can broil the proteins. SO GOOD!“

“It’s so hard to come across fresh & tasty seafood. 7Spice definitely know what they are doing. The spice was right, the crab was fresh and large and the service was amazing. The food was outstanding! The boiled shrimp, potatoes, and corn were perfectly spicy, and the garlic butter sauce was exceptional. The catfish and shrimp plate was also fresh, hot, and flavorful. However, the dining experience was dampened by the temperature inside the restaurant, it was so cold we had to eat in the car. Fixing that would make it a 5/5 experience!“

“This is one of another friend's favorite restaurants, so when the original dinner location plans didn't pan out and Rouxpour was suggested, I was excited to finally try it. Service: Our server, Alex, greeted us promptly. I told him this was my first visit and asked for suggestions. He showed me where the appetizers were on the menu and pointed out that the soup sizes came in bowl for appetizer size and larger for a meal. Not very helpful...unless he heard me say I had difficulty reading English. (: Anyway, he took our appetizer order, then returned quickly to take our dinner order, but we were not ready. I guess that was our mistake because we didn't see him for inordinate lengths of time the rest of the evening. We waited a long time to request boxes. Then a long time after that to request the bill, which you would think would have been an assumption we were ready for after we requested boxes. I'm like, is there a ball game playing in the back, a card game going..what?? Where is he?! Food: The oysters Rockefeller were excellent! My friend enjoyed the fried shrimp, commenting that the breading was just right—not too heavy or overcooked. I ordered the red snapper. The portion size was huge, covering the entire large plate! The shrimp were plump and not overcooked. The snapper was tender. Loads of spinach on top. And not swimming in sauce. The dish was a bit salty for my taste, but very flavorful. Excellent flavors! Everything was served very quickly. Ambiance/Noise level: Lighting level was appropriate for dinner. Nice decor. It was a little difficult to hear some of what my friend was saying across the table in the half-full dining room, but maybe in my 50s I'm starting to lose hearing. IDK. This was a first for me. There was a small wedding party in the private room behind us, but you could not hear it with the doors closed. If I were part of a group that wanted to dine here, I would not oppose. However, I would not be the one to suggest it. Close to garage.“

“So I sent my hubby here based on neighborhood post and he quickly reminded me we had been here before awhile back. Anyway, I asked for a shrimp and fish po-boy in which he called stating it couldn’t do both and my thoughts were okay whatever just make it shrimp then. (attitude in tow) Well, when I got the po-boy I could see clearly why the owner said they both couldn’t be achieved. Those dang on shrimps were huge and he was not skimping on the number added to my po-boy. Also, one thing that stood out and important when making a po-boy is the proper bread. He got three thumbs up from me. We had left over fish from another plate and made grits the next morning then added the fish to the air fryer. The flavor was even more bustin bustin.“

“Why go to Pappadeaux when you can get the same quality and portions for half the price. Yeah you give up a little in the area of atmosphere and it's in an area of town that might trouble you, but I've always chosen a restaurant on the basis of taste of food and the price for that quality of food. It IS the BEST Cajun food you're gonna get for the money. The owner often services your table and is flexible to menu variations. I hope he gets confident enough to open up another restaurant in a safer part of town. I know he will do well if he can just get people in there.“

“My husband brought me here to celebrate clear scans from my oncologist. It was my first time eating here and it was DELICIOUS! The complimentary bread and butter was so yummy, and the lump crab spinach dip was delectable! My husband ordered the cajun chicken tenders and was very pleased. I ordered the crawfish etouffee and it was the best etouffee I've ever had. Our waiter, D, was so awesome and on top of everything. I couldn't decide between 2 drinks, the Lifes a Peach or Purple Voodoo, so I asked his opinion and said peach. I ordered Life's a Peach and it was so good. Very very happy with my experience and I hope to come back some day.“

“My wife and I came for a weekend visit to Houston and on way to hotel spotted this place. So we checked in and after inquiring at the hotel front desk decided to check it out. We decided to order Po Boys. I ordered the catfish and my wife ordered the shrimp. Well I got to say this place does a great job of cooking. Momma runs a tight kitchen in the back. The sauces on the Po Boys tasted home made and the fish and shrimp grilled to perfection. The shrimp were also some pretty good quality shrimp. The vegetables were fresh, tomatoes and lettuce, etc. and fries nicely salted and just right. Customer service was great and staff super friendly. A great family restaurant. Definitely recommend.“
