Mar 2025 update: When I drive through I want to see the menu in most cases. The workers that stand along the drive-thru lanes come up to you no matter where you are in line, way before the menu sign, as if you know what you want in advance. Perhaps most people do but sooner or later you will need to wait until you get up to the menu sign to order. I mentioned this today when I drove through and the worker handed me their order tablet. This is not useful because it only has tiny images of the items without names or descriptions. To take orders before the sign and to help those that want to see a menu, you need to provide a proper menu that the worker can use with the customer - perhaps laminated for weather protection.“
