“Salad and soup came 1 minute after appetizer. Hot meals came 2 minutes after that. Needless to say, meal was room temp by the time we ate out. Both of us took most of it home.
Waitress asked us to pay early because she was going on break. She never offered more drinks. We had to ask twice for boxes and a to go bag.“

“Took my daughter here for lunch. I’ve been a couple times and always have a great experience. The owner is a one man show with the most simple and successful business model that even my 15yo daughter just chuckled with the whole experience. And, he makes damn good sandwiches.

Come as soon as they open. They only make a portioned amount each day. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

“The food wasn’t bad, but not the best we’ve had. We liked the wood fired pizzas, the caprese salad was so-so, and the service was nice but very low-energy and not very attentive. Didn’t ask if we needed refills until we were ready for our check. The atmosphere would be really nice, but the place could use a deep clean and half of the light bulbs were burned out. We went on a Friday at lunch and it wasn’t very busy, so food was fairly quick coming out.“

We ordered cocktails, which came quickly and were rather good but when we asked to order appetizers our server informed us that the kitchen preferred for appetizer and meal orders to placed at the same time, as a result our meal arrived seconds after finishing appetizers, leaving us feeling rushed. Our server didn't check to see if we wanted additional cocktails or wine with our dinner so we had to hunt him down. All of our previous experiences at Matteo have been lovely, nice relaxed interaction with the staff; cocktail, wine and food recommendations were always given; owners walking around greeting and interacting with patrons...we did not experience this last weekend.“

I would also suggest smaller pizza sizes for single servings. 8 inch and lower prices would be fine. Lobster dish was good, my daughter loved the bolanagse. “The most incredible restaurant I’ve been to in slc and I’ve lived here my whole life! Their food is so, so fresh and delicious. Everything feels like it’s been made with love, attention, and care. The staff is some of the most friendly, welcoming people I’ve met and they are always eager to assist. I’ve seen the owner on site a few times, and she also seems like a dream. If I’ve heard correctly, her family is Italian and the food absolutely reflects Italian values. I dream about coming here on weekends, and every loved one I’ve brought here is just as obsessed. 10/10, there are no poor menu choices.“

“It has been over 15 years since I had visited this establishmen. My wife and I stopped in for dinner tonight and the service was simply amazing (thank you Amy), the food was outstanding and we had the opportunity to visit at the end of our meal, with Jim the General Manager. Every aspect of our experience was really great. We’re thinking of going back again tomorrow. We go out at least once a week for dinner and try different places. This was the best yet!“

The garage closest to the restaurant has an exit that is right next to the restaurant. Parking isn't too expensive.“

“We came here for our 11-yr anniversary. For our 10-yr anniversary we did a pizza crawl in Chicago, Detroit, NYC, and New Haven Connecticut. So this year we did a much smaller version to check out pizza more local to us. Compared to the pizzas we tried in NYC, it was pretty good! The slices are huge. I got a pepperoni slice and my husband got a cheese slice and a bacon/green olive slice.
I thought it was pretty great overall, but my husband wished the crust was more crispy, though he liked the sauce.
The staff was friendly, but the music they were playing was pretty awful and the bathroom was gross. Overall great pizza and we’d come again.“
