“It was amazing. Simply amazing. Casual, not luxurious, but so cute. Small yet roomy. And clean. The pizza was incredible. I think they make their tomato sauce themselves. You know how at those fancy pizzerias the taste is good but when you fold the slice New York–style, the tip droops down because it’s soggy? This was nothing like that. It was a huge pizza, but the tip of the slice never drooped. Perfectly crispy.

They also give little packets of oregano and amazingly good chili flakes, which I thought was such a nice touch.

The interior is very charming. I just think the lemonade could have been a bit better. I hope the taste always stays this way.“

Pizza: crispy crust, good sauce (not too sweet or too salty), good amount of toppings. Some may think they are heavy on the cheese but I typically order extra so I loved it.
Garlic dipping sauce on the side: Delicious. Think of a real, homemade version of papa John's garlic sauce. I could taste the seasonings.
Wings: we ordered plain with sauce on the side. Wings were big, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Hot sauce and ranch dipping sauces were great.
Steak and cheese: really tasty, healthy amount of meat, bread held up nicely“

“This was my first visit to Lost Dog Cafe. I was looking for new venues with a good craft beer selection. I had seen this place pop up on my social media and have even driven by their arlington location. Decided to drive down to the Alexandria location. Very cute place with a medium sized bar, several booths and tables, and an outdoor patio. But what makes this place unique is they also a have a retail selection too! And a very decent one at that. The bartender, who seemed like the owner and/or manager, was very friendly and we talked about beer. Good selection on draft and beer came out nice and cold. Didn't have any food but menu is extensive and they're supposedly known for their sandwiches. And it's all for a good cause because they support adopted cats and dogs!“

It's conveniently located near one of my favorite theaters, and Andy's Pizza is the perfect spot to meet up with friends before or after a screening to grab a bite to eat and a good drink (Atlas Brewery being part of the same space is a cool touch, and I've had a couple of good brewskis too). “New Mosaic location just opened and it’s great. The pizza is fantastic, actually cooked with some nice crisp and char like the northern pizza snob in me likes. I also had a chicken parm sub that was fantastic. Haven’t tried the cold subs yet but there’s always tomorrow hah. The location is great on the bend of District Ave looking out down the street and they smartly installed a retractable front wall that can be opened for open air on nice days/evenings (or if Covid decides to play some more games here in the future). Also some select patio seating which is nice as well!“

It really is just a one of a kind neighborhood spot: kids coloring menus with family events, outdoor dining with lots of dogs, inventive cocktails, constantly rotating beer menus, drag shows, bingo nights, live performances, lots of locals, and a sports always playing on one or all of the televisions. Most unique of all: Flipside Speakeasy is located right above the restaurant offering a quieter atmosphere, even MORE cocktails, and a great vinyl record selection! Both are a must see on anybody’s bar hopping excursion through Del Ray.“

I went for a jalapeño pineapple pizza, and let me tell you, it was a flavor explosion! The crust was the perfect trifecta: soft, slightly crispy on the edges, and wonderfully chewy in all the right places. Paired with the sweet-tangy pineapple and the spicy kick of jalapeño, every bite was pure magic. “I love their pizza, especially the American Honey. Their pizza is thin and light on toppings, which doesn't sound like it would be a good thing, but I love it. It feels lighter than traditional pizza, more like a crispy flatbread. If you're looking for good old fashioned pizza drowning in cheese, this is not it.“

“This is a small location but we come here because Angie always takes excellent care of us. Some changes could improve the customer experience like being able to order for delivery which could increase sales quite a bit and provide income to invest back into the business. The wings and the cheesesteak are our usual favorites to order because the bread is good and the wings are cooked well.“
