We started with the Greek Salad, and it was super fresh and flavorful. The mix of crunchy romaine, juicy tomatoes, and kalamata olives was on point, but the feta cheese totally stole the show. Plus, the Greek dressing tied it all together perfectly. It was the kind of salad where every bite has something tasty going on. Definitely not your boring side salad.

Then came the falafel, and wow. These chickpea fritters were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—just the way falafel should be! The combo of the falafel with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and that tangy tahini sauce was so satisfying. It was light but still packed with flavor, and the torshi (pickled veggies) added a nice punch.

For the main course, I went with the Beef Shawarma, and it was just fantastic. The beef was super tender and char-grilled to perfection. With all the fresh veggies and that creamy tahini sauce, it hit all the right notes. I could seriously eat this every week. If you’re craving delicious Mediterranean food in a chill atmosphere, Nick’s Taverna is where it’s at!“

“This is the second time I visited Massaya! Yes! It’s super far (for someone in DC)- but I’ve enjoyed every bit of being there! The dancers that go there, and the DJs in the weekends really add more fun to the vibe, and that is something not to miss. You may come around a quite empty scene (if you like silence and somewhere chill)— though you’d also have moments when it’s crowded, as I do wish there were more attendees. The restaurant has two sides! Keep in mind, the lounge side is where it’s lit, so don’t be fooled by the main floor! For those in Ashburn, who want nice good and a good music scene, that’s a place to go. The crowd there have very good vibes, and I always felt good there!“

“I ate there last night and it was terrific! Great happy hour includes more than your run of the mill rail drinks. Smoked Old Fashion was amazing and the Mules were very refreshing. I had the chicken shawarma and it was delicious. Also had the Muhammar. First time trying as I am new to Lebanese food. I’m a huge fan of this dish. We finished off the night with a wonderful orange mint hookah. I brought two out of town friends with me that were very skeptical about coming but they left thanking me for convincing them to try Massaya. Great happy hour, great food and great hookah afterwards. “I went here for lunch 7/25/2024, and I ordered a make your own bowl with the lamb meat balls as well as the shredded lamb. I picked some unusual choices for me such as baba ganush. I never eat eggplant, but wanted to try it. They have a lot of sauces and non traditional American vegetable choices. overall very good“

Parking: The spots directly in front of the restaurant are always full because of the limited number and it's next to a Starbucks. It sits in front of a Harris teeter grocery store so you can park in the grocery lot and walk over“

“We had been meaning to try the Kabobi by Helmand restaurant for a while, but not gotten around to it. Last weekend gave a perfect chance for a quick Takeaway.

We went for the traditional Kabuli pulao with lamb which was chock full of flavor. We also tried the Mantu dumplings which were in a flavorful and delicate sauce. My wife’s personal favorite was the chicken Lawand which had a very nice sauce we had not tried before. The spinach was OK, could have had a bit more flavor.

Take away order was easily placed. The environment inside was very nice and we will definitely come for a dining experience in the future.“
