“Excellent I’m a known chef visiting VCU in Richmond, Virginia and saw there were great Chinese places. Since 1981 I’ve loved however not found many legit shredded pork in garlic sauce dishes. They nailed it, this classic Sichuan dish . When she placed on the table I had flash backs to Houston Texas the last time I actually ordered the dish as every place did it no justice. If you’ve never tried its spicy, salty, little acidic. Steamed rice has to be and was perfect. I started with a great hot and sour soup and then the green onion pancake. The pancake golden brown, crispy, cooked perfect. The soup a great blend had me sweating. Only negative is I’m from Georgia.“

“I've been happily stopping at Hunan East, nearly every Saturday, to fill up a take-out tray from their buffet, which has many healthful options, with stir-fried meat and vegetables, all cooked just enough. I get enough food for 4 meals, for the price of two, and that's with a tip (just my choice, not expected, and I serve myself).“

“Very nice establishment. Service is always impeccable along with large portions of choice menu items. Soups and spring rolls delightful, especially the hot mustard use for the spring rolls! Hot Sour soup always fresh. Egg drop soup has changed a bit but still enjoyable. Main dishes either of chicken, pork, shrimp, beef or combinations allow for large selection of flavors. Love their fried rice. Noticed some meat selections have been slimmed down to go with the fried rice or sweet and sour dish. Still, plenty of tasteful flavors to choose from.

Service always on top of beverage refills or other request as needed. Well worth stopping in to get a bite!“

Have lived in Richmond for 50+ years, this is the place to go. There are one or two others that are very good, but Yum Yum is great!

“I came for my birthday and it was so good. Nathaniel’s service was exceptional and really made our experience great. When we come back, we will definitely ask to be seated in Nathaniel’s section. “This is a pleasant surprise… My wife and I are new to the area (6 Months) and over the past few months we have been in town have been trying places to compare to our classic back home “American style Chinese” favorites. This was a great meal. We called, placed to go, and drove 9 minutes to pick up our “ready in 15” order. When I walked in the man working the counter was bringing that all to familiar brown paper bag from the back. Just our luck it was my order, we had a great quick conversation and I headed on my way. Now, for the food, that’s what matters because after all this is not a sit down style place, so ignore those negative atmosphere reviews…

The order was $52 for crab Rangoon, steamed pork dumplings (real dumps, not someone trying to pass Goyza off as a dumpling!) and 2 warm fresh egg rolls. The mains were General tso’ chicken and a happy family. One order white and one order fried rice. All were a great balance of flavor, meat, vegetables and sauce. We are extremely pleased with the overall experience and I recommend anyone looking for a quick filling meal show this spot some support.

If you want a full sit down with a perfect designed interior and a wait staff, go to Shortpump and pay for it.

“WOW. Best little spot for quality Chinese food. There isn’t a dish i have not had. The fried chicken is finger licking, the sesame chicken is always flavorful and The Singapore Mei Fun is top tier. I’ve had other restaurants leave the tails on the shrimp, not Lung Wah. They offer delicious meals for reasonable prices and incredibly fast service. The staff is friendly and they provide any and all of the condiments you may desire (i strongly recommend the hot sauce). If you’re on the fence about trying this gem, take a leap and try it.“

“The general tsos chicken was sooooo good as well as their crab Rangoon, the black pepper chicken was okay, the chicken was cooked very hard and it was super dry there was no sauce or gravy for it which made it not very enjoyable for me, but my daughter loved it. “I’ve edited this review 3 times. OMG this food is beyond amazing. NOT your typical Chinese food experience. I was disappointed at first because a family-sized order is $18 and only feeds one person. Service was fast and friendly. But this is THE BEST CHINESE FOOD I’VE EVER HAD! It was delicious! I ordered a family-sized meal and we’re both still very hungry. If you order delivery through a 3rd party your driver might have to wait longer than usual. The lobby area could use some work. They used to have tables lined up if you wanted to eat inside.
