“I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Fountain and Grill in Buchanan, Virginia. The food was exceptionally delicious, and the service was excellent. They even provided a game for the children a mega connect four! The game enhancing our overall enjoyment. I ordered the Cowboy Burger, which was delightful, while my daughter opted for bacon and french fries. My husband enjoyed a scrumptious Philly Cheesesteak, and the accompanying french fries were a highlight. We concluded our meal with delicious ice cream. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a fantastic dining experience in Buchanan.Kid-friendliness: See picture“
“Stopped for dinner, first visit. The specials were beef stroganoff and pot roast and my husband and I ordered both. It was delicious home style cooking and the staff was super friendly and wanted to be sure we enjoyed our meals. Recommend! Will be back :)“
“We parked at the swinging bridge & really enjoyed walking that/watching water turtles. Then a small walk past a few other eateries in this little Main Street. Both enjoyed Turkey blt on sourdough. Includes drink and one nice side. I tried corn fritters which were small fritters with creamed corn filling. Husband enjoyed his fries. Highly recommend this friendly nostalgic place!“
“We found this little gem today and had the best time! The food was delicious and they had the best Bloody Mary’s. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Such a fantastic atmosphere and they played some damn good music while we were there. I loved absolutely everything about this place. Great place to hang and talk to the locals. We cannot wait to come back!“
“Ate dinner here tonight, was very impressed. Great service, excellent food and reasonably priced. For 4 people to eat (2 adults & 2 kids), we ate for less than $40 and my husband ordered a steak. Glad to see someone investing in a restaurant to keep options open for locals. We will absolutely be back!Kid-friendliness: Brought both of our kids. Definitely a family atmosphere.“
“Please note that I don't give 5 stars often. (I've seen to Cracker Barrel and given them them 3 stars, not because they're mediocre, but rather you get what you pay for. I came to Natural Bridge VA, one of my favorite places btw, to attend Luminary Night, and was staying at The Natural Bridge Hotel which I'll review separately. The tavern is on the first floor of the hotel, and I was hungry, having driven from my Gettysburg address ( I love saying that!) I was " that" person who was standing at the entrance at 5:25 when they opened at 5:30 PM. Mt server was Sherri who was reportedly new and very helpful and accommodating . She pointed out some interesting wall photos in the restaurant as well as main entrance, and took my order pronto afterwards. I decided upon my go-to, fish and chips, which was rather good. (I've posted a pic which you unfortunately can't taste.) A throng of people came in shortly afterwards as is typically the case, and Sherri kept checking in on me,even though I'm kinda low maintenance for the most part, or at least that's my humble opinion. I was there exactly 10 days before Christmas and was delighted by Christmas songs and yuletide decor. If you're visiting the Natural Bridge, have a bite at one of the dining facilities within the Natural Bridge Hotel. The prices are moderate, but as I've said, you get what you pay for. This is not a Subway hoagie type of place. I'll clearly returning here at my next visit, and so ought you!“
“I have dined here several times and it’s enjoyable, especially if you get a window seat! The food has been good. I just got the breakfast buffet last weekend and it was nice but expensive if you only get one plate.Lunch and dinner has been great! After, you can take a walk around Abbott lake which is about a mile. Beautiful short trail! Sharp top, Flat top, and Harkening hill are all great hikes but I don’t recommend those on a full stomach lol! It’s usually pretty busy though and it’s nice to have a drink while you wait for a table to open up. There is also a small lounge area downstairs near the restroom and there usually aren’t any other people down there. The restroom is pretty small, the stalls specifically. Very little room to move or even close the door of the stall.“
“Went to the red fox tavern. We relaxed in the lobby by the fire beforehand. They have an impressive set of beers on tap and a fully stocked bar. They gave us a sample of the beers and we just relaxed and enjoyed. All of the staff was very friendly and attentive.“
“It's disheartening to see North Star Restaurant receive one-star ratings when it clearly embodies authenticity and a warm, laid-back mountain vibe. The staff's genuine nature contributes to the welcoming atmosphere, making it a local gem. As someone with extensive experience managing a chain of breakfast restaurants, I consider myself quite discerning about my egg and cheese sandwiches. I can confidently say that North Star's offering is exceptionally delicious—perhaps it's the magic of mountain ingredients! If you're in the Blue Ridge area, this restaurant is an unmissable experience.“
