“I had tons of gelato when I traveled to Italy with one of our favorite spots being Venchi. Since coming back, we've tried other gelato places but none have been anything like what we had there. Imagine how giddy I was to find out that the same Venchi was located in the States and close to my house!! We promptly tried the stracciatella ( my daughter's favorite) and it immediately took us back. It was rich, creamy, perfectly sweet, and delicious just like I remembered. We will definitely be back!“

“This is a charming little bakery and cafe with a small indoor dining area and a few outdoor tables. The atmosphere is all about cozy country French style. So pretty! Note: Indoor tables are reserved for guests who are dining (as opposed to just having coffee and pastries). There is a full daily lunch menu and dinner on Thursdays and they also offer pastries and coffee to go (or to eat outside).Sadly, the card reader was down and they were only accepting cash on the day we went, so we were only able to sample a selection of pastries.The staff were extremely apologetic and very friendly. In spite of the snafu they were handling orders quickly, keeping patrons informed and answering questions.The pastries - sadly the pastries were just not what they should have been. We tried the chocolate almond croissant - which was spread to the point it was almost flat and was chewy/gummy rather than crisp and flaky. For comparison we also tried a standard pain au chocolat, which was better but still not as light and flaky as it should be. The trio of mini caneles were a little doughy and very chewy (verging on gummy bear level chewiness).Overall, although we really wanted to love it given how hard the staff were working and how pretty the place is - if you’re looking for great French pastries this isn’t the spot.“
“Manoa's bingsoo is the only one I like to get in NOVA. Their ice is shaved so finely it looks like coconut shavings and they never melt even in the heat of the summer. I love all the toppings they include (mochi, corn flakes, flavored condensed milk, and ice cream). I know before they used to layer the toppings with the ice, but I still think that there's a good enough amount. They have so many bakery items inside and I like their outdoor seating as well. I've ordered some food too and it seems like they make everything to order which I appreciate. It's a nice place to go study, meet with friends, or go to for dessert after some KBBQ.“

From the moist and delicious cakes, cupcakes, and brownies to the parfaits everything tastes delicious. The cakes are very moist and the frosting is just the right combination of smooth and not too sweet. Claudia’s cakes are not only delicious, but she is an amazing decorator as well! “A fine if small bakery tucked into the back of a strip mall, the Fairfax Bakery brings Turkish inspired foods and pastries to the area. Their pastries, of which we have sampled a number, are excellent as are their breakfast sandwiches. The Turkish breakfast platter is a Mediterranean adventure as is the baraq (sp?), something like a filled bagel. Their Turkish bagels are a real treat, and for those who like sweet coffee so is theTurkish coffee. Go early in the day for take out pastries as by lunchtime they are often sold out. “I discovered this little cafe on my way out to Great Falls for a hike. I stopped by for a coffee and croissant but ended up with coffee and a couple of other things entirely! It's a very cute café with a small amount of indoor and outdoor seating.They have a pretty impressive assortment of baked goods here. I appreciate the thoughtfulness of labeling all food offerings on display with descriptions so that you can try something new! I have to come back and try the Nutella croissant, but the Kouign Amann was perfect! I only wish they had asked if I wanted it to be warmed up. I also tried the sunny side up Crogel and it was very good, although the bacon to everything else ratio was off (too much tomato, generous amount of Mayo, and a nice size egg. But not enough bacon!). I loved the croissant-bagel hybrid concept itself. Coffee was unremarkable but still very solid. I had a caramel macchiato. I will definitely make this place a regular stop for my morning snack before a hike!“

They sell Portuguese and Hong Kong styled egg tarts, one for $2. It doesn't show in the photo but the egg tarts were huge, larger than the normal ones I get from bakeries and also cheaper. the lady is very helpful if it is your first time there, and will explain to you if a bread contains fillings or what type of filling.“
“Been here several times and the cakes are delicious. The location itself is small and usually crowded inside. The shopping center it’s in is difficult to get into and the parking is a nightmare. The cakes make it worth it though. We have tried white chocolate raspberry, lemon, strawberries and cream, and carrot. All were amazing and make great birthday cakes. We get the 10 inch cake which feeds about 8 people or 4 if you want two pieces. Overall I highly recommend.“

Parking is tight, but valet is only $5. The service is ok. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Not super friendly, but polite. This place is expensive but a super cute cafe to hang out or Matt up with friends. We ordered the following: - Margarita Pizza: each slice is quite big and thick. We hot 2 slices, and just shared one. - Avocado Toast: this was delicious. It comes with egg, but we got it without egg. - The Rustic Gathering Board: this is $49 and is a massive charcuterie board. We got the vegetarian one, but they have with meat as well. Order this if you have a group to share. The coffee and chai were delicious. Overall, I loved the ambiance and cafe feel of this place. They have several pastries and breads too. Definitely give it a try. Can't wait to go back and try some of the pastries there.“

“I ordered the cake tasting box, as one does when social media decides to convince you you actually like cake and this is a GREAT idea (I don't actually like cake, ice cream cake girl to the grave).Ordering was pretty simple, although I had a random tip added on originally until I exited and re-entered my cart. Also, if you have allergies it's probably best to personally contact the bakery as none of their cake flavors had allergen warnings. Yes, some flavors it's pretty obvious but to be on the safe side I would definitely recommend contacting them. Continuing on: In the spirit of committing to the hot girl Friday bit, I went a bit overboard so here's what I got (copy/pasting from my receipt):My Passion, Strawberry Shortcake, Candy Bar Crunch, Gotta Lil Capt'n In You, Cookie Monster, Green With Envy, Pumpkin Patch, Apple Orchard, Strawberry LemonadePersonally, their cakes were great. Moist, soft even after a few days, and individually wrapped and labeled so I knew what slice was what. However, their icing/buttercream all tasted the same to me. I was not a fan of their white icing (which was easy to scrape off my precious cake) and the buttercream flavors in between only really differed in coloring to me. The best cake was Cookie Monster, and that one I did enjoy some of the chocolate ganache/filling. I also liked the pumpkin and apple cakes (although not their filling. It didn't come across as cream cheese to me and I'm not committed enough to taste test the wreckage left behind in the cling wrap.) The pieces of apple in the apple cake were soft and sweet. The lemon cake smelled nicely of lemons.The pistachio, Capt'n, and candy crunch bar were my least favorite of my cake hoard because I got them partially because I was looking forward to the filling. If I was to order again I would request no icing or choose cakes without their buttercream. Each slice of cake was a nice slice (3 layers of cake with filling between), so if you too decide to order cake for dinner a cake tasting box will definitely fill you. If you're alright with planning an evening-in with cake 48 hours in advance, their cake tasting box is not a bad way to go. (My cat also tried to steal some bites, so they are kitty approved).“

“It's an excellent little grocery store & a mini restaurant which has a fantastic selection of authentic Azerbaijani, Georgian, Turkish, Moldovan and Russian food, including some very hard to find items. For example, they have Georgian Suluguni cheese, Turkish coffee and sweets, a phenomenal assortment of baklava, Russian candy and chocolate, and Moldovan and Georgian wines, such as Saperavi, in gorgeous hadnmade bottles. They have a Georgian chef who cooks the food that they serve. There isn't much space there but it still has a seating area for about a dozen people, and it's very cosy there.“
“This place is adorable, but I was unaware it was inside the HMart (back right corner when you enter) it's a little cold since it's by grocery freezers so I don't really recommend it as a cafe to hang out or lounge in. But they do have some cozy table to do so if you like. I had a purple latte. They are like alot of other Korean bakeries in the area as far their tea, coffee, and bakery offerings, altho a little bit higher priced than some of the others I usually go to in Annandale. Castella loafs were $4 each which I buy often elsewhere. The staff is kind and was also wonderful at letting us and other shoppers know that all their breads were going on 50% off at 630 and it seemed to draw a timely crowd. Would not make a special trip for this bakery, but it is nice to know it is there and should stop by when I go to this HMart.“
